font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Original Research Articles</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>Word limit:</em> 4,000 words maximum, excluding Title page, Abstract, References figure legends and Acknowledgment; including Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>Abstract:</em> 250 words maximum; must be structured, under the sub-headings: Aim, Materials and Methods (include design, setting, subject and main outcome measures as appropriate), Results, Conclusion.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">ii.Consort randomized clinical trials (RCT): The format is similar to original articles. Must strictly adhere to the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) minimum guidelines for publication of randomized clinical trials (https://asdj.journals.ekb.eg/). The Editor will refer them to the authors. The readers' comments and authors' replies may subsequently be published together.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>Word limit:</em> 1,500 words maximum, excluding references.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>References:</em> Maximum 5 references.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>Tables and Figures:</em> Total of no more than 1 figure or table.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">II.PREPARING YOUR MANUSCRIPT</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The submission file must be prepared in Microsoft Word document file format. Please minimize the use of abbreviations and do not cite references in the abstract.:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Aim: the purpose of the study</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Materials and Methods: how the study was performed and statistical tests used</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Results: the main findings</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Conclusions: brief summary and potential implications</span></strong></li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Main body</span></strong></p> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-Introduction</span></strong></h3> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The introduction section should explain the background to the study, its aims, a summary of the existing literature and why this study was necessary or its contribution to the field.</span></strong></p> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-Materials and Methods</span></strong></h3> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The materials and methods section should include:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">the aim, design and setting of the study</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">the characteristics of participants or description of materials</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">a clear description of all processes, interventions and comparisons. Generic drug names should generally be used. When proprietary brands are used in research, include the brand names in parentheses</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">the type of statistical analysis used, including a power calculation if appropriate</span></strong></li> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">ethical considerations should be mentioned here.</span></strong></li> </ul> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-Results</span></strong></h3> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">This should include the findings of the study including, if appropriate, results of statistical analysis which must be included either in the text or as tables and figures.</span></strong></p> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-Discussion</span></strong></h3> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">This section should discuss the implications of the findings in context of existing research and highlight the limitations of the study.</span></strong></p> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-Conclusions</span></strong></h3> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">This should state clearly the main conclusions and provide an explanation of the importance and relevance of the study reported. </span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">-References </span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">In text citations should cite references in consecutive order using Arabic superscript numerals. Example for references writing within text: Hatem et al<sup>12</sup> showed that SDF resulted in a 54% reduction in new caries experience. SDF is the most concentrated fluoride product commercially available for caries management.<sup>13</sup></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Cite references selectively, and number them in the order cited. Make sure that all references have been mentioned in the text. All references should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance and should be as complete as possible in Vancouver style.</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Figures files</span></strong></li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Digital images should be in TIF or Jpg format at least 5 inches wide and at least 300 pixels per inch (118 pixels per cm). Do not embed images in a word processing program.
