This requires a fair understanding of fuel recycling in order to optimize the gas fueling. In Aditya tokamak, multiple gas puffs are used in a precise and controlled manner, for hydrogen fueling during the flat top of plasma discharge which has been instrumental in achieving discharges with enhanced density as well as energy confinement time. Following each gas puff, we observe peaks in temporal profile of Hα emission, Soft X-ray (SXR) and chord averaged electron density in a number of discharges, indicating efficient gas fueling. Interestingly, Hα temporal profile exhibited an additional peak following the peak corresponding to each gas puff. These additional peak Hα appeared in between the two gas puffs, indicating the presence of a secondary hydrogen source apart from the gas puffs. A thorough investigation revealed that these secondary Hα peaks coincide with Hard X- ray bursts which come from the interaction of runaway electrons with vessel limiters. This leads to consider that the runaway electrons (REs), which hit the wall, in turn, bring out the absorbed hydrogen and oxygen from the wall and makes the interaction of REs with limiter a secondary hydrogen source. These observations suggest that runaway electron induced recycling should also be included in recycling particle source in the particle balance calculations in tokamaks. Observation of two Hα peaks associated with one gas puff and their roles in enhancing and maintaining plasma density in Aditya tokamak will be discussed in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fusion" title="fusion">fusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20fueling" title=" gas fueling"> gas fueling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycling" title=" recycling"> recycling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tokamak" title=" Tokamak"> Tokamak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya" title=" Aditya"> Aditya</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67668/analysis-of-secondary-peak-in-ha-emission-profile-during-gas-puffing-in-aditya-tokamak" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67668.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">402</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">51</span> An Investigation Enhancing E-Voting Application Performance</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Verma">Aditya Verma</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> E-voting using blockchain provides us with a distributed system where data is present on each node present in the network and is reliable and secure too due to its immutability property. In this setup, we often encounter a problem wherein we know the filtered output and the filter coefficients, and need to find out the input graph signal. Solution to this problem using direct approach requires O(N3) operations, where N is the number of vertices in graph. In this paper, we adapt the spectral graph partitioning method for partitioning of graphs and use it to reduce the computational cost of the filtering problem. We use the example of denoising of the temperature data to illustrate the efficacy of the approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graph%20signal%20processing" title="graph signal processing">graph signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graph%20partitioning" title=" graph partitioning"> graph partitioning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inverse%20filtering%20on%20graphs" title=" inverse filtering on graphs"> inverse filtering on graphs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=algebraic%20signal%20processing" title=" algebraic signal processing"> algebraic signal processing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59397/efficient-filtering-of-graph-based-data-using-graph-partitioning" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59397.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">310</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">48</span> Extraction of Essential Oil From Orange Peels</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aayush%20Bhisikar">Aayush Bhisikar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Neha%20Rajas"> Neha Rajas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Bhingare"> Aditya Bhingare</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samarth%20Bhandare"> Samarth Bhandare</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amruta%20Amrurkar"> Amruta Amrurkar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Orange peels are currently thrown away as garbage in India after orange fruits' edible components are consumed. In this approach, the adjacency matrix plays pivotal role; instead of the more common approach involving graph-Laplacian. In this work, we follow the adjacency matrix based approach and corresponding algebraic signal model. We further expand the theory and introduce the concept of similarity of two graphs. The similarity of graphs is useful in that key properties (such as filter-response, algebra related to graph) get transferred from one graph to another. We demonstrate potential applications of the relation between two similar graphs, such as nonuniform filter design, DTMF detection and signal reconstruction. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graph%20signal%20processing" title="graph signal processing">graph signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=algebraic%20signal%20processing" title=" algebraic signal processing"> algebraic signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graph%20similarity" title=" graph similarity"> graph similarity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=isospectral%20graphs" title=" isospectral graphs"> isospectral graphs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nonuniform%20signal%20processing" title=" nonuniform signal processing"> nonuniform signal processing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59404/graph-similarity-algebraic-model-and-its-application-to-nonuniform-signal-processing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59404.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">352</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">45</span> Stress Field Induced By an Interfacial Edge Dislocation in a Multi-Layered Medium</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Khanna">Aditya Khanna</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Andrei%20Kotousov"> Andrei Kotousov</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A novel method is presented for obtaining the stress field induced by an edge dislocation in a multilayered composite. The numerical results correspond well with previously published results and the comparison serves as a validation of the obtained dislocation solution. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distributed%20dislocation%20technique" title="distributed dislocation technique">distributed dislocation technique</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=edge%20dislocation" title=" edge dislocation"> edge dislocation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elastic%20field" title=" elastic field"> elastic field</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interfacial%20crack" title=" interfacial crack"> interfacial crack</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-layered%20composite" title=" multi-layered composite"> multi-layered composite</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31667/stress-field-induced-by-an-interfacial-edge-dislocation-in-a-multi-layered-medium" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31667.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">443</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">44</span> An Unusual Occurrence: Typhoid Retinitis with Kyrieleis' Vasculitis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Sethi">Aditya Sethi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vaibhav%20Sethi"> Vaibhav Sethi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shenouda%20Girgis"> Shenouda Girgis</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We present a case of a 31-year-old female who presented with a three week history of left eye blurry vision following a fever. Pseuduvaria monticola is a rare montane forest species from the Annonaceae family. Traditionally, the plant was used to cure symptoms of fever, inflammation, stomach-ache and also to reduce the elevated levels of blood glucose. Scientifically, we have evaluated the antidiabetic potential of the Pseuduvaria monticola bark methanolic extract on certain in vitro cell based assays, followed by in vivo study. Results from in vitro models displayed PMm upregulated glucose uptake and insulin secretion in mouse pancreatic β-cells. In vivo study demonstrated the PMm down-regulated hyperglycaemia, oxidative stress and elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in type 2 diabetic rat models. Altogether, the study revealed that Pseuduvaria monticola might be used as a potential candidate for the management of type 2 diabetes and its related complications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=type%202%20diabetes" title="type 2 diabetes">type 2 diabetes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pseuduvaria%20monticola" title=" Pseuduvaria monticola"> Pseuduvaria monticola</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=insulin%20secretion" title=" insulin secretion"> insulin secretion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glucose%20uptake" title=" glucose uptake"> glucose uptake</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13005/antidiabetic-potential-of-pseuduvaria-monticola-bark-extract-on-the-pancreatic-cells-nit-1-and-type-2-diabetic-rat-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13005.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">439</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">42</span> Finite Element Analysis of Dental Implant for Prosthesis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayur%20Chaudhari">Mayur Chaudhari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ashutosh%20Gaikwad"> Ashutosh Gaikwad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shubham%20Kavathale"> Shubham Kavathale</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Mule"> Aditya Mule</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dilip%20Panchal"> Dilip Panchal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Puja%20Verma"> Puja Verma</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purpose of this investigation was to locate restorative bio-materials for the manufacture of implants and crowns. A three-dimensional (3D) finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out to evaluate the stress distribution in the implant and abutment with several types of bio-materials and various prosthetic crowns. While the dental implant, abutment, and screw were subjected to a vertical impact force, the effects of mechanical characteristics such as Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio were evaluated and contrasted. Crowns are made from zirconia, cobalt, ceramic, acrylic resin, and porcelain materials. Implants are made from materials such as titanium, zirconia, PEEK, and CFR-PEEK. SolidWorks was used to create the 3D geometry, and Ansys Software was used to analyze it. The results show that using CFR-PEEK implants and an acrylic resin crown resulted in less bone stress than using alternative materials. In order to reduce the amount of stress on the bone and possibly prevent implant failure, the study's findings support the use of a CFR PEEK implant, abutment, and crown in bruxism patients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biomaterials" title="biomaterials">biomaterials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=implant" title=" implant"> implant</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crown" title=" crown"> crown</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=abutment" title=" abutment"> abutment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179033/finite-element-analysis-of-dental-implant-for-prosthesis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179033.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">60</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">41</span> Individuals’ Inner Wellbeing during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Quantitative Comparison of Social Connections and Close Relationships between the UK and India</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Spanoudaki">Maria Spanoudaki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pauldy%20C.%20J.%20Otermans"> Pauldy C. In this study, the focus is on Inner Wellbeing which can be described as an individuals' thoughts and feelings about what they can do and be. Relationships can come in many forms and can be divided into Social Connections (thoughts and feelings about the social network people can establish and rely on), and Close Relationships (thoughts and feeling about the emotional support people can receive from significant others or their close, intimate circle). The purpose of this study is to compare the Social Connections and Close Relationship dimensions of Inner Wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic between the UK and India. 392 participants in the UK and 205 participants India completed an online questionnaire using the Inner Wellbeing scale. Factor analyses showed that the construct of Inner Wellbeing can be described as one factor for the UK sample whereas it can be described as two factors (one focusing on positive items and one focusing on negative items) for the Indian sample. Results showed that Social Connections were significantly during COVID-19 in the UK compared to India, whereas there is no significant difference for Close Relationships. The implications on relationships and wellbeing are discussed in detail. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20networks" title="social networks">social networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=relationship%20maintenance" title=" relationship maintenance"> relationship maintenance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=relationship%20satisfaction" title=" relationship satisfaction"> relationship satisfaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=COVID-19" title=" COVID-19"> COVID-19</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149391/individuals-inner-wellbeing-during-the-covid-19-pandemic-a-quantitative-comparison-of-social-connections-and-close-relationships-between-the-uk-and-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149391.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">162</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">40</span> The Convergence of IoT and Machine Learning: A Survey of Real-time Stress Detection System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shreyas%20Gambhirrao">Shreyas Gambhirrao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Vichare"> Aditya Vichare</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aniket%20Tembhurne"> Aniket Tembhurne</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shahuraj%20Bhosale"> Shahuraj Bhosale</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In today's rapidly evolving environment, stress has emerged as a significant health concern across different age groups. Stress that isn't controlled, whether it comes from job responsibilities, health issues, or the never-ending news cycle, can have a negative effect on our well-being. The problem is further aggravated by the ongoing connection to technology. In this high-tech age, identifying and controlling stress is vital. In order to solve this health issue, the study focuses on three key metrics for stress detection: body temperature, heart rate, and galvanic skin response (GSR). These parameters along with the Support Vector Machine classifier assist the system to categorize stress into three groups: 1) Stressed, 2) Not stressed, and 3) Moderate stress. Proposed training model, a NodeMCU combined with particular sensors collects data in real-time and rapidly categorizes individuals based on their stress levels. Real-time stress detection is made possible by this creative combination of hardware and software. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20time%20stress%20detection" title="real time stress detection">real time stress detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NodeMCU" title=" NodeMCU"> NodeMCU</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sensors" title=" sensors"> sensors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heart-rate" title=" heart-rate"> heart-rate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=body%20temperature" title=" body temperature"> body temperature</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=galvanic%20skin%20response%20%28GSR%29" title=" galvanic skin response (GSR)"> galvanic skin response (GSR)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=support%20vector%20machine" title=" support vector machine"> support vector machine</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179408/the-convergence-of-iot-and-machine-learning-a-survey-of-real-time-stress-detection-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179408.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">72</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">39</span> A Case Study of Assessment of Fire Affected Concrete Structure by NDT</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nikhil%20Gopalkrishnan">Nikhil Gopalkrishnan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Praveen%20Bhaskaran"> Praveen Bhaskaran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Bhargava"> Aditya Bhargava</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gyandeep%20Bhumarkar"> Gyandeep Bhumarkar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The present paper is an attempt to perform various Non-Destructive Tests on concrete structure as NDT is gaining a wide importance in the branch of civil engineering these days. Various tests that are performed under NDT not only enable us to determine the strength of concrete structure, but also provide us in-hand information regarding the durability, in-situ properties of the concrete structure. Keeping these points in our mind, we have focused our views on performing a case study to show the comparison between the NDT test results performed on a particular concrete structure and another structure at the same site which is subjected to a continuous fire of say 48-72 hours. The mix design and concrete grade of both the structures were same before the one was affected by fire. The variations in the compressive strength, concrete quality and in-situ properties of the two structures have been discussed in this paper. NDT tests namely Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test, Rebound Hammer Test, Core-Cutter Test was performed at both the sites. The main objective of this research is to analyze the variations in the strength and quality of the concrete structure which is subjected to a high temperature fire and the one which isn’t exposed to it. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=core-cutter%20test" title="core-cutter test">core-cutter test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-destructive%20test" title=" non-destructive test"> non-destructive test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rebound%20hammer%20test" title=" rebound hammer test"> rebound hammer test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultrasonic%20pulse%20velocity%20test" title=" ultrasonic pulse velocity test"> ultrasonic pulse velocity test</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42037/a-case-study-of-assessment-of-fire-affected-concrete-structure-by-ndt" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42037.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">349</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">38</span> Computational Analysis of Variation in Thrust of Oblique Detonation Ramjet Engine With Adaptive Inlet</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya">Aditya</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ganapati%20Joshi"> Ganapati Joshi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinod%20Kumar"> Vinod Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> IN THE MODERN-WARFARE ERA, THE PRIME REQUIREMENT IS A HIGH SPEED AND MACH NUMBER. WHEN THE MISSILES STRIKE IN THE HYPERSONIC REGIME THE OPPONENT CAN DETECT IT WITH THE ANTI-DEFENSE SYSTEM BUT CAN NOT STOP IT FROM CAUSING DAMAGE. SO, TO ACHIEVE THE SPEEDS OF THIS LEVEL THERE ARE TWO ENGINES THAT ARE AVAILABLE WHICH CAN WORK IN THIS REGION ARE RAMJET AND SCRAMJET. THE PROBLEM WITH RAMJET STARTS TO OCCUR WHEN MACH NUMBER EXCEEDS 4 AS THE STATIC PRESSURE AT THE INLET BECOMES EQUAL TO THE EXIT PRESSURE. SO, SCRAMJET ENGINE DEALS WITH THIS PROBLEM AS IT NEARLY HAS THE SAME WORKING BUT HERE THE FLOW IS NOT MUCH SLOWED DOWN AS COMPARED TO RAMJET IN THE DIFFUSER BUT IT SUFFERS FROM THE PROBLEMS SUCH AS INLET BUZZ, THERMAL CHOCKING, MIXING OF FUEL AND OXIDIZER, THERMAL HEATING, AND MANY MORE. HERE THE NEW ENGINE IS DEVELOPED ON THE SAME PRINCIPLE AS THE SCRAMJET ENGINE BUT BURNING HAPPENS DUE TO DETONATION INSTEAD OF DEFLAGRATION. THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE STARTS WHEN THE MACH NUMBER BECOMES VARIABLE AND THE INLET GEOMETRY IS FIXED AND THIS LEADS TO INLET SPILLAGE WHICH WILL AFFECT THE THRUST ADVERSELY. SO, HERE ADAPTIVE INLET IS MADE OF SHAPE MEMORY ALLOYS WHICH WILL ENHANCE THE INLET MASS FLOW RATE AS WELL AS THRUST. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=detonation" title="detonation">detonation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ramjet%20engine" title=" ramjet engine"> ramjet engine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shape%20memory%20alloy" title=" shape memory alloy"> shape memory alloy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ignition%20delay" title=" ignition delay"> ignition delay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shock-boundary%20layer%20interaction" title=" shock-boundary layer interaction"> shock-boundary layer interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eddy%20dissipation" title=" eddy dissipation"> eddy dissipation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=asymmetric%20nozzle" title=" asymmetric nozzle"> asymmetric nozzle</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149070/computational-analysis-of-variation-in-thrust-of-oblique-detonation-ramjet-engine-with-adaptive-inlet" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/149070.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">102</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">37</span> Analysis of User Complaints and Preferences by Conducting User Surveys to Ascertain the Need for Change in Current Design of Helmets</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pratham%20Baheti">Pratham Baheti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rohan%20Sanghi"> Rohan Sanghi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Gupta"> Aditya Gupta</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the largely populated city of New Delhi, India, there are a lot of people that travel by two-wheelers. Majority of the people wear helmets while traveling and know how important it is to wear helmets for their safety. Still, the number of deaths because of road accidents involving two-wheelers is significant. We had conducted a survey by traveling within and in the outskirts of Delhi so as to see the variation in data and in the opinion of people towards helmet being a safety device rather than to escape the traffic police. We conducted a survey at traffic junctions and crossings of all the stakeholders and collected feedback on the Helmet scenario in India. According to the survey, the possible reason for these deaths is that the people, being unaware of helmet safety standards (ISI standards for helmets), buy helmets with fake ISI mark from unauthorized helmet sellers for a cheap price. Also, for the people who do not wear a helmet at all or wear a helmet just because it is a law, the reasons that they do not want to wear a helmet is heavyweight, lack of ventilation, inconvenience due to a strap, and hair problems. To address all these problems, we are designing a helmet with reduced weight and also working on the Helmet’s retention system and ventilation. We plan to provide this product at a cheap cost whilst maintaining the ISI standards so that a larger section of the population would be able to afford the helmet. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=safety" title="safety">safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=survey" title=" survey"> survey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISI%20marks" title=" ISI marks"> ISI marks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stakeholders" title=" stakeholders"> stakeholders</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=helmet" title=" helmet"> helmet</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/86989/analysis-of-user-complaints-and-preferences-by-conducting-user-surveys-to-ascertain-the-need-for-change-in-current-design-of-helmets" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/86989.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">279</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">36</span> Bioremediation of Sea Food Waste in Solid State Fermentation along with Production of Bioactive Agents</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rahul%20Warmoota">Rahul Warmoota</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Bhardwaj"> Aditya Bhardwaj</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Steffy%20Angural"> Steffy Angural</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Monika%20Rana"> Monika Rana</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sunena%20Jassal"> Sunena Jassal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Neena%20Puri"> Neena Puri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Naveen%20Gupta"> Naveen Gupta</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Seafood processing generates large volumes of waste products such as skin, heads, tails, shells, scales, backbones, etc. Pollution due to conventional methods of seafood waste disposal causes negative implications on the environment, aquatic life, and human health. The current system and techniques which are used for identification need one thing, that is ‘proof of existence’, which involves valid documents, for example, educational, financial, etc. The main issue with the current identity access management system and digital identification process is that the system is centralized in their network, which makes it inefficient. The paper presents the system which resolves all these cited issues. It is based on ‘blockchain’ technology, which is a 'decentralized system'. It allows transactions in a decentralized and immutable manner. The primary notion of the model is to ‘have everything with nothing’. It involves inter-linking required documents of a person with a single identity card so that a person can go anywhere without having the required documents with him/her. The person just needs to be physically present at a place wherein documents are necessary, and using a fingerprint impression and an iris scan print, the rest of the verification will progress. Furthermore, some technical overheads and advancements are listed. This paper also aims to layout its far-vision scenario of blockchain and its impact on future trends. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blockchain" title="blockchain">blockchain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decentralized%20system" title=" decentralized system"> decentralized system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fingerprint%20impression" title=" fingerprint impression"> fingerprint impression</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=identity%20management" title=" identity management"> identity management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=iris%20scan" title=" iris scan"> iris scan</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118996/providing-a-secure-reliable-and-decentralized-document-management-solution-using-blockchain-by-a-virtual-identity-card" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118996.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">128</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">34</span> Orbiting Intelligence: A Comprehensive Survey of AI Applications and Advancements in Space Exploration</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Somoshree%20Datta">Somoshree Datta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chithra%20A.%20V."> Chithra A. The application of deep learning (DL) algorithms in medical imaging have shown promise in accurate and efficient brain tumour detection. This paper explores the performance of various pre-trained DL models ResNet50, Xception, InceptionV3, EfficientNetB0, DenseNet121, NASNetMobile, VGG19, VGG16, and MobileNet on a brain tumour dataset sourced from Figshare. The dataset consists of MRI scans categorizing different types of brain tumours, including meningioma, pituitary, glioma, and no tumour. The study involves a comprehensive evaluation of these models’ accuracy and effectiveness in classifying brain tumour images. Data preprocessing, augmentation, and finetuning techniques are employed to optimize model performance. Among the evaluated deep learning models for brain tumour detection, ResNet50 emerges as the top performer with an accuracy of 98.86%. Following closely is Xception, exhibiting a strong accuracy of 97.33%. These models showcase robust capabilities in accurately classifying brain tumour images. On the other end of the spectrum, VGG16 trails with the lowest accuracy at 89.02%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brain%20tumour" title="brain tumour">brain tumour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MRI%20image" title=" MRI image"> MRI image</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=detecting%20and%20classifying%20tumour" title=" detecting and classifying tumour"> detecting and classifying tumour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pre-trained%20models" title=" pre-trained models"> pre-trained models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transfer%20learning" title=" transfer learning"> transfer learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20segmentation" title=" image segmentation"> image segmentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20augmentation" title=" data augmentation"> data augmentation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/178879/brain-tumor-detection-and-classification-using-pre-trained-deep-learning-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/178879.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">74</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">32</span> Assessment of Pollutant Concentrations and Respiratory Tract Depositions of PM from Traffic Emissions: A Case Study of a Highway Toll Plaza in India</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nazneen">Nazneen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Kumar%20Patra"> Aditya Kumar Patra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of this study was to investigate the personal exposures of toll plaza workers on a busy national highway in India during the winter season to PM₂.₅, PM₁₀, BC (black carbon), and UFP (ultrafine particles). The results showed that toll workers inside the toll collection booths (ITC) were exposed to higher concentrations of air pollutants than those working outside the booths (OTC), except for UFP. Specifically, the concentrations of PM₂.₅ were 20₄.₇ µg m⁻³ (ITC) and 100.4 µg m⁻³ (OTC), while PM₁₀ concentrations were 326.1 µg m⁻³ (ITC) and 24₄.₇ µg m⁻³ (OTC), and BC concentrations were 30.7 µg m⁻³ (ITC) and 17.2 µg m⁻³ (OTC). In contrast, UFP concentrations were higher at OTC (11312.8 pt cm⁻³) than at IOC (7431.6 pt cm⁻³). The diurnal variation of pollutants showed higher concentrations in the evening due to increased traffic and less atmospheric dispersion. The respiratory deposition dose (RDD) of pollutants was higher inside the toll booths, especially during the evening. The study also revealed that PM particles consisted of soot, mineral and fly ash, which are proxies of fresh exhaust emissions, re-suspended road dust, and industrial emissions, respectively. The presence of Si, Al, Ca and Pb, as confirmed by EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis) analyses, indicated the sources of pollutants to be re-suspended road dust, brake/tire wear, and construction dust. The findings emphasize the need for policies to regulate air pollutant concentrations, particularly in workplaces situated near busy roads. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=air%20pollution" title="air pollution">air pollution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PM%E2%82%82.%E2%82%85" title=" PM₂.₅"> PM₂.₅</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=black%20carbon" title=" black carbon"> black carbon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=traffic%20emissions" title=" traffic emissions"> traffic emissions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166552/assessment-of-pollutant-concentrations-and-respiratory-tract-depositions-of-pm-from-traffic-emissions-a-case-study-of-a-highway-toll-plaza-in-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166552.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">87</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">31</span> Prevalence and Characteristics of Torus Palatinus among Western Indonesian Population</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raka%20Aldy%20Nugraha">Raka Aldy Nugraha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kiwah%20Andanni"> Kiwah Andanni</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Indra%20Pratama"> Aditya Indra Pratama</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aswin%20Guntara"> Aswin Guntara</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Torus palatinus is a bony protuberance in the hard palate. This is mainly due to the revolutionary development of new wireless communication system generations. The evolving new generations of wireless systems are accommodating the demand through better resource management including improved transmission technologies with optimized communication devices. To keep up with the evolution of technologies, the communication systems must be designed to optimize transparent insertion of newly evolved technologies virtually at all stages of their life cycle. After the insertion of new technologies, the upgraded devices should continue the communication without squalor in quality. The concern of improving spectrum access and spectrum efficiency combined with both the introduction of Software Defined Radios (SDR) and the possibility of the software application to radios has led to an evolution of wireless radio research. The software defined radio term was coined in the 1970s to overcome the problems in the application of software to wireless radios which eliminates the requirement of hardware changes. SDR has become the prime theme of research since it eliminates the drawbacks associated with conventional wireless communication systems implementation. This paper identifies and discusses key enabling technologies and possibility of research and development in SDRs. In addition transmitter and receiver architectures of SDR are also discussed along with their feasibility for reconfigurable radio application. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=software%20defined%20radios" title="software defined radios">software defined radios</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wireless%20communication" title=" wireless communication"> wireless communication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reconfigurable" title=" reconfigurable"> reconfigurable</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reconfigurable%20transmitter" title=" reconfigurable transmitter"> reconfigurable transmitter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reconfigurable%20receivers" title=" reconfigurable receivers"> reconfigurable receivers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FPGA" title=" FPGA"> FPGA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DSP" title=" DSP"> DSP</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11812/preliminary-findings-from-a-research-survey-on-evolution-of-software-defined-radio" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11812.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">314</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">29</span> Reed: An Approach Towards Quickly Bootstrapping Multilingual Acoustic Models</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bipasha%20Sen">Bipasha Sen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Agarwal"> Aditya Agarwal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Multilingual automatic speech recognition (ASR) system is a single entity capable of transcribing multiple languages sharing a common phone space. Performance of such a system is highly dependent on the compatibility of the languages. State of the art speech recognition systems are built using sequential architectures based on recurrent neural networks (RNN) limiting the computational parallelization in training. This poses a significant challenge in terms of time taken to bootstrap and validate the compatibility of multiple languages for building a robust multilingual system. Complex architectural choices based on self-attention networks are made to improve the parallelization thereby reducing the training time. In this work, we propose Reed, a simple system based on 1D convolutions which uses very short context to improve the training time. To improve the performance of our system, we use raw time-domain speech signals directly as input. This enables the convolutional layers to learn feature representations rather than relying on handcrafted features such as MFCC. We report improvement on training and inference times by atleast a factor of 4x and 7.4x respectively with comparable WERs against standard RNN based baseline systems on SpeechOcean's multilingual low resource dataset. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=convolutional%20neural%20networks" title="convolutional neural networks">convolutional neural networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=language%20compatibility" title=" language compatibility"> language compatibility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20resource%20languages" title=" low resource languages"> low resource languages</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilingual%20automatic%20speech%20recognition" title=" multilingual automatic speech recognition"> multilingual automatic speech recognition</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129912/reed-an-approach-towards-quickly-bootstrapping-multilingual-acoustic-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129912.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">123</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">28</span> Soil Characteristics and Liquefaction Potential of the Bengkulu Region Based on the Microtremor Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Setyo%20Rahman">Aditya Setyo Rahman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dwikorita%20Karnawati"> Dwikorita Karnawati</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muzli"> Muzli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dadang%20Permana"> Dadang Permana</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sigit%20Pramono"> Sigit Pramono</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fajri%20Syukur%20Rahmatullah"> Fajri Syukur Rahmatullah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oriza%20Sativa"> Oriza Sativa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Moehajirin"> Moehajirin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edy%20Santoso"> Edy Santoso</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nur%20Hidayati%20Oktavia"> Nur Hidayati Oktavia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ardian%20Yudhi%20Octantyo"> Ardian Yudhi Octantyo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robby%20Wallansha"> Robby Wallansha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juwita%20Sari%20Pradita"> Juwita Sari Pradita</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nur%20Fani%20Habibah"> Nur Fani Habibah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Audia%20Kaluku"> Audia Kaluku</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amelia%20Chelcea"> Amelia Chelcea</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoga%20Dharma%20Persada"> Yoga Dharma Persada</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anton%20Sugiharto"> Anton Sugiharto</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Earthquake vibrations on the surface are not only affected by the magnitude of the earthquake and the distance from the hypocenter but also by the characteristics of the local soil. Variations and changes in soil characteristics from the depth of the bedrock to the surface can cause an amplification of earthquake vibrations that also affect the impact they may have on the surface. Soil characteristics vary widely even at relatively close distances, so for earthquake hazard mapping in cities with earthquake threats, it is necessary to study the characteristics of the local soil on a detailed or micro-scale (microzonation). This study proposes seismic microzonation and liquefaction potential based on microtremor observations. We carried out 143 microtremor observations, and the observation sites were spread across all populated sub-districts in Bengkulu City; the results showed that the dominance of Bengkulu City had medium soil types with a dominant period value of 0.4 < T₀ < 0.6, and there was one location with soft soil characteristics in the river, shaved with T₀ > 0.6. These results correlate with the potential for liquefaction as indicated by a seismic vulnerability index (K𝓰) greater than 5. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microtremor" title="microtremor">microtremor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dominant%20period" title=" dominant period"> dominant period</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microzonation" title=" microzonation"> microzonation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20vulnerability%20index" title=" seismic vulnerability index"> seismic vulnerability index</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159784/soil-characteristics-and-liquefaction-potential-of-the-bengkulu-region-based-on-the-microtremor-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159784.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">119</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">27</span> A Study of Generation Y's Career Attitude at Workplace</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Supriadi%20Hardianto">Supriadi Hardianto</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Daniswara"> Aditya Daniswara</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Today's workplace, flooded by millennial Generation or known also as Generation Y. A common problem that faced by the company towards Gen Y is a high turnover rate, attitudes problem, communication style, and different work style than the older generation. This is common in private sector. The objective of this study is to get a better understanding of the Gen Y Career Attitude at the workplace. The subject of this study is focusing on 430 respondent of Gen Y which age between 20 – 35 years old who works for a private company. The Questionnaire as primary data source captured 9 aspects of career attitude based on Career Attitudes Strategy Inventory (CASI). This Survey distributes randomly among Gen Y in the IT Industry (125 Respondent) and Manufacture Company (305 Respondent). A Random deep interview was conducted to get the better understanding of the etiology of their primary obstacles. The study showed that most of Indonesia Gen Y have a moderate score on Job satisfaction but in the other aspects, Gen Y has the lowest score on Skill Development, Career Worries, Risk-Taking Style, Dominant Style, Work Involvement, Geographical Barrier, Interpersonal Abuse, and Family Commitment. The top 5 obstacles outside that 9 aspects that faced by Gen Y are 1. Lower communication & networking support; 2. Self-confidence issues; 3. Financial Problem; 4. Emotional issues; 5. Age. We also found that parent perspective toward the way they are nurturing their child are not aligned with their child’s real life. This research fundamentally helps the organization and other Gen Y’s Stakeholders to have a better understanding of Gen Y Career Attitude at the workplace. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=career%20attitudes" title="career attitudes">career attitudes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CASI" title=" CASI"> CASI</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gen%20Y" title=" Gen Y"> Gen Y</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=career%20attitude%20at%20workplace" title=" career attitude at workplace"> career attitude at workplace</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92715/a-study-of-generation-ys-career-attitude-at-workplace" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92715.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">158</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">26</span> Information Retrieval from Internet Using Hand Gestures</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aniket%20S.%20Joshi">Aniket S. In the busy situation, they want this information on the little use of keyboard, time. Today in order to get such information user have to repeat same mouse and keyboard actions which includes time and inconvenience. In India due to rural background many people are not much familiar about the use of computer and internet also. Also in small clinics, small offices, and hotels and in the airport there should be a system which retrieves daily information with the minimum use of keyboard and mouse actions. We plan to design application based project that can easily retrieve information with minimum use of keyboard and mouse actions and make our task more convenient and easier. This can be possible with an image processing application which takes real time hand gestures which will get matched by system and retrieve information. Once selected the functions with hand gestures, the system will report action information to user. In this project we use real time hand gesture movements to select required option which is stored on the screen in the form of RSS Feeds. Gesture will select the required option and the information will be popped and we got the information. A real time hand gesture makes the application handier and easier to use. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hand%20detection" title="hand detection">hand detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hand%20tracking" title=" hand tracking"> hand tracking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hand%20gesture%20recognition" title=" hand gesture recognition"> hand gesture recognition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HSV%20color%20model" title=" HSV color model"> HSV color model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Blob%20detection" title=" Blob detection"> Blob detection</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29069/information-retrieval-from-internet-using-hand-gestures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29069.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">288</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25</span> Consumers’ Preferences and Willingness to Pay for Tomato Attributes: Evidence from Pakistan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jahangir%20Khan">Jahangir Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Syed%20Attaullah%20Shah"> Syed Attaullah Shah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20R.%20Khanal"> Aditya R. Fresh and processed tomatoes are widely consumed in Pakistan and are regarded as premium products. Consumers have unique preferences regarding food choices when buying products in the market. This research paper investigates how consumers assess tomatoes and their willingness to pay for various tomato attributes while making food choices. Information on consumers’ behavior regarding food choices was collected from 1200 respondents through face-to-face interviews using a choice experiment design and an econometric evaluation of the random utility model. The data was gathered from three diverse climatic zones: Northern, Central, and Southern. The study examined consumers' WTP for tomato attributes such as production method, packaging, and variety type. The empirical results confirmed that respondents preferred organic tomatoes and were willing to pay a 65% price premium compared to the conventional method. Additionally, consumers were also willing to pay a 56% price premium for hybrid variety compared to local variety. Results of the research indicated that consumers were willing to pay a premium of 23% for labeled packaging. The findings of this research study provide useful information to stakeholders in the tomato supply chain to better align their products with consumers' preferences, ultimately enhancing market growth and consumers’ satisfaction. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=choice%20experiment" title="choice experiment">choice experiment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=consumers%E2%80%99%20behavior" title=" consumers’ behavior"> consumers’ behavior</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tomato%20attributes" title=" tomato attributes"> tomato attributes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=willingness%20to%20pay" title=" willingness to pay"> willingness to pay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/193216/consumers-preferences-and-willingness-to-pay-for-tomato-attributes-evidence-from-pakistan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/193216.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">12</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">24</span> Difficulties in Providing Palliative Care in Rural India, West Bengal: Experience of an NGO</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Manna">Aditya Manna</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: As in any developing countries state of West Bengal in India has a huge burden of cancer patients in advanced stage coming from rural area where awareness regarding the usefulness of palliative care in rather poor. Objective: Our goal is to give a pain free good quality of life in these advanced stage cancer patients. Objective of this study is to identify the main difficulties in achieving the above goal in a rural village setting in India. Method: Advanced cancer patients in need of palliative care in various villages in of rural India were selected for this study. Their symptoms and managements in that rural surroundings were evaluated by an NGO (under the guidance of a senior palliative care specialist) working in that area. An attempt was made to identify the main obstacles in getting proper palliative care in a rural setting. Results: Pain, fatigue are the main symptoms effecting these patients. In most patients pain and other symptoms control were grossly inadequate due to lack of properly trained manpower in the rural India. However regular homecare visits by a group of social workers were of immense help in the last few months of life. NGO team was well guided by a palliative care specialist. Conclusion: There is a wide gap of trained manpower in this filled in rural areas of India. Dedicated groups from rural area itself need encouragement and proper training, so that difficult symptoms can be managed locally along with necessary social and psychological support to these patients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=palliative%20care" title="palliative care">palliative care</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NGO" title=" NGO"> NGO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rural%20India" title=" rural India"> rural India</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=home%20care" title=" home care"> home care</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51700/difficulties-in-providing-palliative-care-in-rural-india-west-bengal-experience-of-an-ngo" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51700.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">295</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23</span> The Role of Volunteers in Quality Palliative Care Delivery</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aditya%20Manna">Aditya Manna</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lalit%20Kumar%20Khanra"> Lalit Kumar Khanra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shyamal%20Kumar%20Sarkar"> Shyamal Kumar Sarkar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Here in India almost 75% of cancer patient die a sad death of neglect due to lack of awareness about palliative care and low economic level. Surveys in India show that two third of cancer patient do not get proper care during the terminal phase of their life. Palliative care through volunteers can make a significant difference in this respect. Objective: To identify and try to solve, to the extent possible, the main difficulties in giving palliative care to the terminal cancer patients of the area. And evaluate the impact of volunteer’s direct care of palliative patients and their families. Methods: Feedback from patients and their relatives regarding the palliative care they receive from nursing home and from volunteers and compare the two. Also feedback from volunteers regarding their positive and negative experience while delivering palliative care service. Then evaluate the data to compare and improve the quality of service. Results: We carried out two studies. One study was undertaken in nursing home palliative care and another was in home setting by volunteers. Both studies were in adult palliative care services. Since January 2015, 496 cases were studied to enquire about their experience in both home based care and nursing home care. Both the studies fulfilled our quality appraisal criteria. One found that those families and patients who received home visits from volunteers were significantly more satisfied. The study highlighted the value of the role of volunteers in better satisfaction of patients and their families. Conclusions: Further research is needed to evaluate the role of volunteers in palliative care and how it can be delivered appropriately and effectively. We also wish to compare our findings with similar studies elsewhere. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=palliative%20care"
