To resolve this issue, we took advantage of the HTML5 technology and developed web-based remote desktop. It permits users to access the terminal which running in our cloud platform from anywhere. We implemented a sketch of web interface following the cloud computing concept that seeks to enable collaboration and communication among users for high performance computing. Given the development of remote desktop virtualization, it allows to shift the user’s desktop from the traditional PC environment to the cloud platform, which is stored on a remote virtual machine rather than locally. Moreover, this flexible remote desktop service represents the next significant step to the mobile workplace, and it lets users access their desktop environments from virtually anywhere. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtualization" title=" virtualization"> virtualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20desktop" title=" virtual desktop"> virtual desktop</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=VDaaS" title=" VDaaS"> VDaaS</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6173/an-adaptive-virtual-desktop-service-in-cloud-computing-platform" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6173.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">288</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2624</span> A Cloud Computing System Using Virtual Hyperbolic Coordinates for Services Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Telesphore%20Tiendrebeogo">Telesphore Tiendrebeogo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oumarou%20Si%C3%A9"> Oumarou Sié</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cloud computing technologies have attracted considerable interest in recent years. Thus, these latters have become more important for many existing database applications. It provides a new mode of use and of offer of IT resources in general. Such resources can be used “on demand” by anybody who has access to the internet. Particularly, the Cloud platform provides an ease to use interface between providers and users, allow providers to develop and provide software and databases for users over locations. Currently, there are many Cloud platform providers support large scale database services. However, most of these only support simple keyword-based queries and can’t response complex query efficiently due to lack of efficient in multi-attribute index techniques. Existing Cloud platform providers seek to improve performance of indexing techniques for complex queries. In this paper, we define a new cloud computing architecture based on a Distributed Hash Table (DHT) and design a prototype system. Next, we perform and evaluate our cloud computing indexing structure based on a hyperbolic tree using virtual coordinates taken in the hyperbolic plane. We show through our experimental results that we compare with others clouds systems to show our solution ensures consistence and scalability for Cloud platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20coordinates" title="virtual coordinates">virtual coordinates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud" title=" cloud"> cloud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hyperbolic%20plane" title=" hyperbolic plane"> hyperbolic plane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=storage" title=" storage"> storage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scalability" title=" scalability"> scalability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=consistency" title=" consistency"> consistency</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40855/a-cloud-computing-system-using-virtual-hyperbolic-coordinates-for-services-distribution" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40855.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">429</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2623</span> Cloud Computing: Major Issues and Solutions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Adhirai%20Subramaniyam">S. The proposed architecture consists of establishing user configurable ‘sticky’ policies on the Graphical User Interface (GUI) data-bound components during the application development phase to specify the details of privacy enforcement on the contents of these components. Various privacy classification classes on the data components are formally defined to give the user full control on the degree and scope of privacy enforcement including the type of execution containers to process the data in the Cloud. This not only enhances the privacy-awareness of the developed Cloud services, but also results in major savings in performance and energy efficiency due to the fact that the privacy mechanisms are solely applied on sensitive data units and not on all the user content. The proposed design is implemented in a real PaaS cloud computing environment on the Microsoft Azure platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=privacy%20enforcement" title="privacy enforcement">privacy enforcement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=platform-as-a-service%20privacy%20awareness" title=" platform-as-a-service privacy awareness"> platform-as-a-service privacy awareness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing%20privacy" title=" cloud computing privacy"> cloud computing privacy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131754/platform-as-a-service-sticky-policies-for-privacy-classification-in-the-cloud" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131754.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">232</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2621</span> Energy Efficient Resource Allocation and Scheduling in Cloud Computing Platform</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shuen-Tai%20Wang">Shuen-Tai Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ying-Chuan%20Chen"> Ying-Chuan Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yu-Ching%20Lin"> Yu-Ching Lin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> There has been renewal of interest in the relation between Green IT and cloud computing in recent years. Cloud computing has to be a highly elastic environment which provides stable services to users. The growing use of cloud computing facilities has caused marked energy consumption, putting negative pressure on electricity cost of computing center or data center. Each year more and more network devices, storages and computers are purchased and put to use, but it is not just the number of computers that is driving energy consumption upward. We could foresee that the power consumption of cloud computing facilities will double, triple, or even more in the next decade. This paper aims at resource allocation and scheduling technologies that are short of or have not well developed yet to reduce energy utilization in cloud computing platform. In particular, our approach relies on recalling services dynamically onto appropriate amount of the machines according to user’s requirement and temporarily shutting down the machines after finish in order to conserve energy. We present initial work on integration of resource and power management system that focuses on reducing power consumption such that they suffice for meeting the minimizing quality of service required by the cloud computing platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20utilization" title=" energy utilization"> energy utilization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20consumption" title=" power consumption"> power consumption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resource%20allocation" title=" resource allocation"> resource allocation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55519/energy-efficient-resource-allocation-and-scheduling-in-cloud-computing-platform" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55519.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">344</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2620</span> A Survey on Internet of Things and Fog Computing as a Platform for Internet of Things</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samira%20Kalantary">Samira Kalantary</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sara%20Taghipour"> Sara Taghipour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mansoure%20Ghias%20Abadi"> Mansoure Ghias Abadi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Internet of Things (IOT) is a technological revolution that represents the future of computing and communications. The implications of the prototype are discussed in terms of ease-of-use and deployment options, especially in cloud environments. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=web-based%20simulation" title="web-based simulation">web-based simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title=" cloud computing"> cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Platform-as-a-Service%20%28PaaS%29" title=" Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)"> Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rapid%20application%20development%20%28RAD%29" title=" rapid application development (RAD)"> rapid application development (RAD)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=population%20genetics" title=" population genetics"> population genetics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20920/scipaas-a-scientific-execution-platform-for-the-cloud" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20920.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">595</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2618</span> Brief Guide to Cloud-Based AI Prototyping: Key Insights from Selected Case Studies Using Google Cloud Platform</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kamellia%20Reshadi">Kamellia Reshadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pranav%20Ragji"> Pranav Ragji</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Theodoros%20Soldatos"> Theodoros Soldatos</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Recent advancements in cloud computing and storage, along with rapid progress in artificial intelligence (AI), have transformed approaches to developing efficient, scalable applications. However, integrating AI with cloud computing poses challenges as these fields are often disjointed, and many advancements remain difficult to access, obscured in complex documentation or scattered across research reports. For this reason, we share experiences from prototype projects combining these technologies. Specifically, we focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) functionalities and describe vision and speech activities applied to labeling, subtitling, and urban traffic flow tasks. We describe challenges, pricing, architecture, and other key features, considering the goal of real-time performance. We hope our demonstrations provide not only essential guidelines for using these functionalities but also enable more similar approaches. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20intelligence" title="artificial intelligence">artificial intelligence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title=" cloud computing"> cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20applications" title=" real-time applications"> real-time applications</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=case%20studies" title=" case studies"> case studies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=knowledge%20management" title=" knowledge management"> knowledge management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=research%20and%20development" title=" research and development"> research and development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=text%20labeling" title=" text labeling"> text labeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=video%20annotation" title=" video annotation"> video annotation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20traffic%20analysis" title=" urban traffic analysis"> urban traffic analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=public%20safety" title=" public safety"> public safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=prototyping" title=" prototyping"> prototyping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Google%20Cloud%20Platform" title=" Google Cloud Platform"> Google Cloud Platform</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194679/brief-guide-to-cloud-based-ai-prototyping-key-insights-from-selected-case-studies-using-google-cloud-platform" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194679.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">33</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2617</span> A Study of Evolving Cloud Computing Data Security: A Machine Learning Perspective</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shinoy%20Vengaramkode%20Bhaskaran">Shinoy Vengaramkode Bhaskaran</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The advancement of cloud computing led to a variety of security issues for both consumers and industries. As of now, customers of Cloud service providers have no methods for confirming the privacy and ownership of their information and data. To address this issue we propose the platform of a trusted cloud computing program (TCCP). TCCP empowers Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) suppliers, for example, Amazon EC2 to give a shout box execution condition that ensures secret execution of visitor virtual machines. Also, it permits clients to bear witness to the IaaS supplier and decide if the administration is secure before they dispatch their virtual machines. This paper proposes a Trusted Cloud Computing Platform (TCCP) for guaranteeing the privacy and trustworthiness of computed data that are outsourced to IaaS service providers. The TCCP gives the deliberation of a shut box execution condition for a client's VM, ensuring that no cloud supplier's authorized manager can examine or mess up with its data. Furthermore, before launching the VM, the TCCP permits a client to dependably and remotely acknowledge that the provider at backend is running a confided in TCCP. This capacity extends the verification of whole administration, and hence permits a client to confirm the data operation in secure mode. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20security" title="cloud security">cloud security</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IaaS" title=" IaaS"> IaaS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20data%20privacy%20and%20integrity" title=" cloud data privacy and integrity"> cloud data privacy and integrity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20cloud" title=" hybrid cloud"> hybrid cloud</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72497/data-security-and-privacy-challenges-in-cloud-computing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72497.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">303</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2613</span> Cloud Computing in Jordanian Libraries: An Overview</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20A.%20Al-Madi">Mohammad A. It encompasses a range of business, technical opportunities, issue, and challenges. Trustiness in the cloud services regarding the security and the privacy of the delivered data is the most critical issue with the SaaS model. In this paper, we survey the security concerns related to the SaaS model, and we propose the design of a trusted SaaS model that gives users more confidence into SaaS services by leveraging a trust in a neutral source code certifying authority. The proposed design is based on the use of the multisignature mechanism for signing the source code of the application service. In our model, the cloud provider acts as a root of trust by ensuring the integrity of the application service when it was running on its platform. The proposed design prevents insider attacks from tampering with application service before and after it was launched in a cloud provider platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SaaS%20Platform" title=" SaaS Platform"> SaaS Platform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TPM" title=" TPM"> TPM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trustiness" title=" trustiness"> trustiness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=code%20source%20certification" title=" code source certification"> code source certification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-signature%20schemes" title=" multi-signature schemes"> multi-signature schemes</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74689/multisignature-schemes-for-reinforcing-trust-in-cloud-software-as-a-service-services" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74689.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">284</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2611</span> Cloud Computing Architecture Based on SOA</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Negin%20Mohammadrezaee%20Larki">Negin Mohammadrezaee Larki</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cloud Computing is a popular solution that has been used in recent years to cooperate and collaborate among distributed applications over networks. However, conventional virtualization comes at the expense of performance loss for applications. Container-based virtualization could be an option as it potentially reduces overhead and minimizes performance decline of the service platform. In this paper, we introduce a system framework and present an implementation of resource broker for dynamic cloud service deployment on the container-based platform to facilitate the efficient execution and improve the utilization. We target the load-aware service deployment approach for task ranking scenario. This proposed effort can collaborate with resource management system to adaptively deploy services according to the different requests. In particular, our approach relies on composing service immediately onto appropriate container according to user’s requirement in order to conserve the waiting time. The dynamic location of service facilities and the virtualization of hardware and software elements are stressing the communication networks and protocols, especially when data centres are interconnected through the internet. Although the computing aspects of cloud technologies have been largely investigated, lower attention has been devoted to the networking services without involving IT operating overhead. Cloud computing has enabled elastic and transparent access to infrastructure services without involving IT operating overhead. Virtualization has been a key enabler for cloud computing. While resource virtualization and service abstraction have been widely investigated, networking in cloud remains a difficult puzzle. Even though network has significant role in facilitating hybrid cloud scenarios, it hasn't received much attention in research community until recently. We propose Network as a Service (NaaS), which forms the basis of unifying public and private clouds. In this paper, we identify various challenges in adoption of hybrid cloud. We discuss the design and implementation of a cloud platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=networking" title=" networking"> networking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=infrastructure" title=" infrastructure"> infrastructure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20cloud" title=" hybrid cloud"> hybrid cloud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=open%20stack" title=" open stack"> open stack</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=naas" title=" naas"> naas</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31950/networking-the-biggest-challenge-in-hybrid-cloud-deployment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31950.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">432</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2607</span> Developing a Web-Based Workflow Management System in Cloud Computing Platforms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wang%20Shuen-Tai">Wang Shuen-Tai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lin%20Yu-Ching"> Lin Yu-Ching</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chang%20Hsi-Ya"> Chang Hsi-Ya </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cloud computing is the innovative and leading information technology model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort. In this paper, we aim at the development of workflow management system for cloud computing platforms based on our previous research on the dynamic allocation of the cloud computing resources and its workflow process. We took advantage of the HTML 5 technology and developed web-based workflow interface. In order to enable the combination of many tasks running on the cloud platform in sequence, we designed a mechanism and developed an execution engine for workflow management on clouds. We also established a prediction model which was integrated with job queuing system to estimate the waiting time and cost of the individual tasks on different computing nodes, therefore helping users achieve maximum performance at lowest payment. This proposed effort has the potential to positively provide an efficient, resilience and elastic environment for cloud computing platform. This development also helps boost user productivity by promoting a flexible workflow interface that lets users design and control their tasks' flow from anywhere. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=web-based" title="web-based">web-based</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=workflow" title=" workflow"> workflow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HTML5" title=" HTML5"> HTML5</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cloud%20Computing" title=" Cloud Computing"> Cloud Computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Queuing%20System" title=" Queuing System"> Queuing System</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29622/developing-a-web-based-workflow-management-system-in-cloud-computing-platforms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29622.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">313</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2606</span> An Investigation of Performance Versus Security in Cognitive Radio Networks with Supporting Cloud Platforms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kurniawan%20D.%20Irianto">Kurniawan D. Many studies about available spectrum have been done and it shows that licensed frequencies are idle most of the time. Cognitive radio is one of the solutions to solve those problems. Cognitive radio is a promising technology that allows the unlicensed users known as secondary users (SUs) to access licensed bands without making interference to licensed users or primary users (PUs). As cloud computing has become popular in recent years, cognitive radio networks (CRNs) can be integrated with cloud platform. One of the important issues in CRNs is security. It becomes a problem since CRNs use radio frequencies as a medium for transmitting and CRNs share the same issues with wireless communication systems. Another critical issue in CRNs is performance. Security has adverse effect to performance and there are trade-offs between them. The goal of this paper is to investigate the performance related to security trade-off in CRNs with supporting cloud platforms. Furthermore, Queuing Network Models with preemptive resume and preemptive repeat identical priority are applied in this project to measure the impact of security to performance in CRNs with or without cloud platform. The generalized exponential (GE) type distribution is used to reflect the bursty inter-arrival and service times at the servers. The results show that the best performance is obtained when security is disable and cloud platform is enable. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=performance%20vs.%20security" title="performance vs. security">performance vs. security</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cognitive%20radio%20networks" title=" cognitive radio networks"> cognitive radio networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20platforms" title=" cloud platforms"> cloud platforms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GE-type%20distribution" title=" GE-type distribution"> GE-type distribution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15106/an-investigation-of-performance-versus-security-in-cognitive-radio-networks-with-supporting-cloud-platforms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15106.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">352</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2605</span> Fog Computing- Network Based Computing</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Navaneeth%20Krishnan">Navaneeth Krishnan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chandan%20N.%20Bhagwat"> Chandan N. As the number of devices connecting to the cloud grows, there is undue pressure on the cloud infrastructure. Fog computing or Network Based Computing or Edge Computing allows to move a part of the processing in the cloud to the network devices present along the node to the cloud. Therefore the nodes connected to the cloud have a better response time. This paper proposes a method of moving the computation from the cloud to the network by introducing an android like appstore on the networking devices. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fog%20computing" title=" fog computing"> fog computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=network%20devices" title=" network devices"> network devices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=appstore" title=" appstore"> appstore</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18550/fog-computing-network-based-computing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18550.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">396</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2604</span> Towards a Common Architecture for Cloud Computing Interoperability</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sana%20Kouchi">Sana Kouchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hassina%20Nacer"> Hassina Nacer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kadda%20Beghdad-bey"> Kadda Beghdad-bey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cloud computing is growing very fast in the market and has become one of the most controversial discussed developments in recent years. Cloud computing providers become very numerous in these areas and each of them prefers its own cloud computing infrastructure, due to the incompatibility of standards and cloud access formats, which prevents them from accepting to support cloud computing applications in a standardized manner, this heterogeneity creates the problem of interoperability between clouds, and considering that cloud customers are probably in search of an interoperable cloud computing, where they will have total control over their applications and simply migrate their services as needed, without additional development investment. A cloud federation strategy should be considered. In this article, we propose a common architecture for the cloud that is based on existing architectures and also the use of best practices from ICT frameworks, such as IBM, ITIL, NIST, etc., to address the interoperability of architectures issues in a multi-cloud system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cloud%20computing" title="cloud computing">cloud computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reference%20architecture" title=" reference architecture"> reference architecture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interoperability" title=" interoperability"> interoperability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=standard" title=" standard"> standard</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129198/towards-a-common-architecture-for-cloud-computing-interoperability" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129198.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">178</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2603</span> Design of Cloud Service Brokerage System Intermediating Integrated Services in Multiple Cloud Environment</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dongjae%20Kang">Dongjae Kang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sokho%20Son"> Sokho Son</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jinmee%20Kim"> Jinmee Kim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cloud service brokering is a new service paradigm that provides interoperability and portability of application across multiple Cloud providers. Cloud users usually encounter the problem of how to use the virtualized platform easily over the web without requiring the plug-in or installation of special software. The object of this paper is to develop a system and a method enabling process interfacing within an automation scenario for accessing remote application by using the web browser. To meet this challenge, we have devised a web-based interface that system has allowed to shift the GUI application from the traditional local environment to the cloud platform, which is stored on the remote virtual machine. We designed the sketch of web interface following the cloud virtualization concept that sought to enable communication and collaboration among users. We describe the design requirements of remote application technology and present implementation details of the web application and its associated components. We conclude that this effort has the potential to provide an elastic and resilience environment for several application services. Users no longer have to burden the system maintenances and reduce the overall cost of software licenses and hardware. Moreover, this remote application service represents the next step to the mobile workplace, and it lets user to use the remote application virtually from anywhere. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtualization%20technology" title="virtualization technology">virtualization technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtualized%20platform" title=" virtualized platform"> virtualized platform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=web%20interface" title=" web interface"> web interface</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=remote%20application" title=" remote application"> remote application</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/81035/system-and-method-for-providing-web-based-remote-application-service" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/81035.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">293</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2601</span> An Energy-Efficient Model of Integrating Telehealth IoT Devices with Fog and Cloud Computing-Based Platform</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yunyong%20Guo">Yunyong Guo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sudhakar%20Ganti"> Sudhakar Ganti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bryan%20Guo"> Bryan Guo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The rapid growth of telehealth Internet of Things (IoT) devices has raised concerns about energy consumption and efficient data processing.
