Triibe</a> harnesses celestial skylights and curved walls to create an oasis in the city.</p> <p>Tranquillity reigns in the two-level Aurora Residence, an apartment flooded with light pouring in from its distinctive floor-to-ceiling windows – including a striking rounded glass feature window – and four curved James Turrell-esque skylights. The project fittingly takes its name from Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn, a subtle nod to the celestial light that bathes the home. We Are Triibe’s interior decoration riffs off the undulating walls and neutral off-white colour palette, with sculptural furniture and accessories bringing texture and warmth via a mixture of The living room doubles as a part-time workspace, an effect achieved by We AreTriibe with a striking, shapely desk with brass trimmings that seamlessly adds to the flow of the undulating walls and the ample proportions of the nearby snake-like sofa by De Sede. “Architectural elements were a big part of drawing inspiration for the Aurora Residence,” says Christina Symes, director at We Are Triibe. “Interiors and architecture should flow together like a soft dance.”</p> <p>While the residence’s main living space is anchored in a neutral palette, other communal areas are grounded in lush forest greens and blackened timbers, enhancing the enveloping effect of the interior architecture. A tonal effect is imparted with a grey-green sofa from Baxter sitting atop the custom emerald green of the plush Halcyon Lake Belgium rug that lies beneath. Moving into a bedroom, the palette and materials ascend once more to the sky; Baxter’s Milano bed, in pale blue nubuck leather, is swathed in light blue sheets and framed on both sides with Fritz Hansen’s seashell-inspired opal glass Clam pendants. “Lying in bed gives you the feeling of floating on a cloud above the calm blue ocean,” says Jessica d’Abadie, director at We Are Triibe.</p> </div>
