the high-speed upgrade of electronic products, electronic waste (e-waste) has become one of the fastest growing wastes of the waste stream. In this context, more efforts and concerns have already been placed on the treatment and management of this waste. To mitigate their negative influences on the environment and society, it is necessary to establish appropriate strategies for e-waste management. Hence, this paper aims to review and analysis some useful strategies which have been applied in several countries to handle e-waste. Future perspectives on e-waste management are also suggested. The key findings found that, to manage e-waste successfully, it is necessary to establish effective reverse supply chains for e-waste, and raise public awareness towards the detrimental impacts of e-waste. The result of the research provides valuable insights to governments, policymakers in establishing e-waste management in a safe and sustainable manner. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-waste" title="e-waste">e-waste</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-waste%20management" title=" e-waste management"> e-waste management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20cycle%20assessment" title=" life cycle assessment"> life cycle assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycling%20regulations" title=" recycling regulations"> recycling regulations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103633/strategies-for-e-waste-management-a-literature-review" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103633.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">275</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">142</span> Development of a Performance Measurement Model for Hospitals Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) Techniques: A Case Study of Three South Australian Major Public Hospitals</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Safaeipour">Mohammad Safaeipour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yousef%20Amer"> Yousef Amer</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study directs its focus on developing a conceptual model to offer a systematic and integrated method to weigh the related measures and evaluate a competence of hospitals and rank of the selected hospitals that involve and consider the stakeholders’ key performance indicators (KPI’s). The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach will use to weigh the dimensions and related sub- components. The weights and performance scores will combine by using the Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and rank the selected hospitals. The results of this study provide interesting insight into the necessity of process improvement implementation in which hospital that received the lowest ranking score. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=performance%20measurement%20system" title="performance measurement system">performance measurement system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PMS" title=" PMS"> PMS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hospitals" title=" hospitals"> hospitals</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AHP" title=" AHP"> AHP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TOPSIS" title=" TOPSIS"> TOPSIS</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65901/development-of-a-performance-measurement-model-for-hospitals-using-multi-criteria-decision-making-mcdm-techniques-a-case-study-of-three-south-australian-major-public-hospitals" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65901.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">373</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">141</span> Prevalence and Clinical Significance of Antiphospholipid Antibodies in COVID-19 Patients Admitted to Intensive Care Units</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mostafa%20Najim">Mostafa Najim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alaa%20Rahhal"> Alaa Rahhal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fadi%20Khir"> Fadi Khir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Safae%20Abu%20Yousef"> Safae Abu Yousef</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amer%20Aljundi"> Amer Aljundi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Feryal%20Ibrahim"> Feryal Ibrahim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aliaa%20Amer"> Aliaa Amer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Soliman%20Mohamed"> Ahmed Soliman Mohamed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samira%20Saleh"> Samira Saleh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dekra%20Alfaridi"> Dekra Alfaridi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Mahfouz"> Ahmed Mahfouz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sumaya%20Al-Yafei"> Sumaya Al-Yafei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Faraj%20Howady"> Faraj Howady</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamad%20Yahya%20%20Khatib"> Mohamad Yahya Khatib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samar%20Alemadi"> Samar Alemadi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increases the risk of coagulopathy among critically ill patients. Although the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs) has been proposed as a possible mechanism of COVID-19 induced coagulopathy, their clinical significance among critically ill patients with COVID-19 remains uncertain. Methods: This prospective observational study included patients with COVID-19 admitted to intensive care units (ICU) to evaluate the prevalence and clinical significance of aPLs, including anticardiolipin IgG/IgM, anti-β2-glycoprotein IgG/IgM, and lupus anticoagulant. The study outcomes included the prevalence of aPLs, a primary composite outcome of all-cause mortality, and arterial or venous thrombosis among aPLs positive patients versus aPLs negative patients during their ICU stay. Multiple logistic regression was used to assess the influence of aPLs on the primary composite outcome of mortality and thrombosis. Results: A total of 60 critically ill patients were enrolled. Of whom, 57 (95%) were male, with a mean age of 52.8 ± 12.2 years, and the majority were from Asia (68%). Twenty-two patients (37%) were found to have positive aPLs; of whom 21 patients were positive for lupus anticoagulant, whereas one patient was positive for anti-β2-glycoprotein IgG/IgM. The composite outcome of mortality and thrombosis during ICU did not differ among patients with positive aPLs compared to those with negative aPLs (4 (18%) vs. 6 (16%), aOR= 0.98, 95% CI 0.1-6.7; p-value= 0.986). Likewise, the secondary outcomes, including all-cause mortality, venous thrombosis, arterial thrombosis, discharge from ICU, time to mortality, and time to discharge from ICU, did not differ between those with positive aPLs upon ICU admission in comparison to patients with negative aPLs. Conclusion: The presence of aPLs does not seem to affect the outcomes of critically ill patients with COVID-19 in terms of all-cause mortality and thrombosis. Therefore, clinicians may not screen critically ill patients with COVID-19 for aPLs unless deemed clinically appropriate. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antiphospholipid%20antibodies" title="antiphospholipid antibodies">antiphospholipid antibodies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=critically%20ill%20patients" title=" critically ill patients"> critically ill patients</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coagulopathy" title=" coagulopathy"> coagulopathy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coronavirus" title=" coronavirus"> coronavirus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131723/prevalence-and-clinical-significance-of-antiphospholipid-antibodies-in-covid-19-patients-admitted-to-intensive-care-units" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131723.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">166</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">140</span> Cardiac Protective Effect of Olive Oil against Ischemia Reperfusion- Induced Cardiac Arrhythmias in Isolated Diabetic Rat Hearts</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ishfaq%20A.%20Bukhari">Ishfaq A. Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, and has been reported for variety of beneficial cardiovascular effects including blood pressure lowering, anti-platelet, anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory effects. Growing number evidences from preclinical and clinical studies have shown that olive oil improves insulin resistance, decrease vessels stiffness and prevent thromboembolism. We evaluated the effects of olive against streptozotocin-induced physiological disorders in the animal models of diabetes and ischemia and reperfusion (I/R)- induced cardiac arrhythmias. Diabetes was induced in male rats with a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (60 mg/kg), rats were treated for two months with olive oil (1 ml/kg p.o). Control animals received saline. Blood glucose, body weight were monitored every 14 days. At the end of the treatment rats were sacrificed hearts were isolated for mounting on langedorff’s apparatus. The blood glucose and body weight was not significantly different in the control and olive treated animals. The control diabetic animals exhibited 100% incidence of I/R –induced ventricular fibrillation which was reduced to 0% with olive oil, treatment. The duration of ventricular fibrillation reduced from 98.8± 2.3 (control) to 0 seconds in the olive oil treated group. Diltiazem, a calcium channel blocker (1 µm/L) showed similar results and protected the I/R-induced cardiac disorders. The biochemical analysis of the cardiac tissues showed that diabetes and I/R produce marked pathological changes in the cardiomyocytes including decreased glutathione (GSH) and increased oxidative stress (Malondialdehyde; MDA). Pretreatment of animals with olive oil (1 ml/kg p.o) increased GSH and MDA levels. Olive oil also improved the diabetic-induced histopathological changes in the cardiomyocytes. These finding indicates that olive possesses cardiac protective properties. Further studies are under way in our lab to explore the mechanism of the cardio-protective effect of olive oil. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diabeties" title="diabeties">diabeties</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ischemia-reperfusion" title=" ischemia-reperfusion"> ischemia-reperfusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=olive%20oil" title=" olive oil"> olive oil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rats%20heart" title=" rats heart"> rats heart</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33792/cardiac-protective-effect-of-olive-oil-against-ischemia-reperfusion-induced-cardiac-arrhythmias-in-isolated-diabetic-rat-hearts" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33792.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">464</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">139</span> Design of a New Architecture of IDS Called BiIDS (IDS Based on Two Principles of Detection)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yousef%20Farhaoui">Yousef Farhaoui</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> An IDS is a tool which is used to improve the level of security. In this paper we present different architectures of IDS. The expression ‘Fast fashion’ is generally referred to low-cost clothing collections that considered first hand copy of luxury brands, sometime interchangeably used with ‘mass fashion’. Whereas slow fashion or limited fashion which are consider to be more organic or eco-friendly. "Sustainable fashion is ethical fashion and here the consumer is just not design conscious but also social-environment conscious". Paper will deal with desire of young Indian consumer towards such luxury brands present in India, and their understanding of sustainable fashion, how to maintain the equilibrium between never newer fashion, style, and fashion sustainability. The green fashion market is growing rapidly as eco-friendly consumers are willing to expand their organic lifestyle to include clothing. With an increasing share of fashion consumers globally, Indian consumers are observed to consider the social and environmental ethics while making purchasing decisions. While some research clearly identifies the efforts of responsible consumers towards green fashion, some argue that fashion-orientated consumers who are sensitive towards environment do not actively participate towards supporting green fashion. This study aims to analyze the current perception of green fashion among Indian consumers. A small-scale exploratory study is conducted where consumers’ perception of green fashion is examined followed by an analysis of translation of this perception into purchase decision making. This research paper gives insight into consumer awareness on green fashion and provides scope towards the expansion of ethical fashion consumption . <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inclusions" title="inclusions">inclusions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=temperature%20gradient" title=" temperature gradient"> temperature gradient</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HPHT%20synthetic%20fibers" title=" HPHT synthetic fibers"> HPHT synthetic fibers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=polyamide%20fibers" title=" polyamide fibers"> polyamide fibers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fiber%20volume" title=" fiber volume"> fiber volume</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compressive%20strength.%20%20gold%20nano%20clusters" title=" compressive strength. gold nano clusters"> compressive strength. gold nano clusters</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=copper%20ions" title=" copper ions"> copper ions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wool%20keratin" title=" wool keratin"> wool keratin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluorescence" title=" fluorescence"> fluorescence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/186213/precious-gold-and-diamond-accessories-versus-false-fashion-diamond-and-stained-accessories" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/186213.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">48</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">134</span> The Linguistic Fingerprint in Western and Arab Judicial Applications</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Asem%20Bani%20Amer">Asem Bani Amer</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study handles the linguistic fingerprint in judicial applications described in a law technicality that is recent and developing. In particular, Alameddine's novel re-tells the story of Caliban and his mother from the perspective of a Yemeni bastard whose mis/fortunes take him to the US shores in the eighties of the previous century. The novel, specifically, re-writes the scene in which Caliban is gazed at by European travelers like Stephano and Trinculo whose first reaction to seeing him is to consider how to sell him or give him as a gift when they safely return to Europe. The novel contests Shakespeare's representation of Caliban as 'marketable' through depicting his daily experiences in modern day America. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=appropriation" title="appropriation">appropriation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alameddine" title=" Alameddine"> Alameddine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shakespeare" title=" Shakespeare"> Shakespeare</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=The%20Tempest" title=" The Tempest"> The Tempest</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/104178/rabih-alameddines-appropriation-of-shakespeares-the-tempest" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/104178.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">170</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">131</span> The Formation of the Diminutive in Colloquial Jordanian Arabic</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yousef%20Barahmeh">Yousef Barahmeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper is a linguistic and pragmatic analysis of the use of the diminutive in Colloquial Jordanian Arabic (CJA). It demonstrates a peculiar form of the diminutive in CJA inflected by means of feminine plural ends with -aat suffix. The analysis shows that the pragmatic function(s) of the diminutive in CJA refers primarily to ‘littleness’ while the morphological inflection conveys the message of ‘the plethora’. Examples of this linguistic phenomenon are intelligible and often include a large number of words that are culture-specific to the rural dialect in the north of Jordan. In both cases, the diminutive in CJA is an adaptive strategy relative to its pragmatic and social contexts. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Colloquial%20Jordanian%20Arabic" title="Colloquial Jordanian Arabic">Colloquial Jordanian Arabic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diminutive" title=" diminutive"> diminutive</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pragmatics" title=" pragmatics"> pragmatics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70108/the-formation-of-the-diminutive-in-colloquial-jordanian-arabic" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70108.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">265</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">130</span> Cluster Based Ant Colony Routing Algorithm for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alaa%20Eddien%20Abdallah">Alaa Eddien Abdallah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bajes%20Yousef%20Alskarnah"> Bajes Yousef Alskarnah </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Ant colony based routing algorithms are known to grantee the packet delivery, but they su ffer from the huge overhead of control messages which are needed to discover the route. The controller effectiveness is demonstrated on a single machine infinite bus system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20system%20stabilizer" title="power system stabilizer">power system stabilizer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=saturated%20control" title=" saturated control"> saturated control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robust%20control" title=" robust control"> robust control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=regional%20pole%20placement" title=" regional pole placement"> regional pole placement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20matrix%20inequality%20%28LMI%29" title=" linear matrix inequality (LMI)"> linear matrix inequality (LMI)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17705/regional-pole-placement-by-saturated-power-system-stabilizers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17705.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">564</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">124</span> Improvement a Lower Bound of Energy for Some Family of Graphs, Related to Determinant of Adjacency Matrix</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saieed%20%20Akbari">Saieed Akbari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yousef%20Bagheri"> Yousef Bagheri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amir%20Hossein%20Ghodrati"> Amir Hossein Ghodrati</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sima%20Saadat%20Akhtar"> Sima Saadat Akhtar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Let G be a simple graph with the vertex set V (G) and with the adjacency matrix A (G). They are being extremely relied on to perform tasks that are analogous to desktop computer capability. There has been a rapid increase of computational power on these devices; however, battery technology is still the bottleneck of evolution. The primary modern approach day approach to tackle this issue is offloading computation to the cloud, proving to be latency expensive and requiring high network bandwidth. In this paper, we explore efforts to perform barter-based mobile-to-mobile offloading. We present define a protocol and present an architecture to facilitate the development of such a system. A rugged and low-cost proof holder has been designed, the cost of which is significantly lower than those of traditional commercial holders. The crystal is not replaceable but it can be easily cleaned. Its small volume permits to be used by dipping it in the liquid with the desired location and orientation. The developed design has been experimentally validated by measuring changes in the resonance frequency and resistance of the QCM sensor immersed vertically in different calibrated aqueous glycerol solutions. The obtained results show a great agreement with the Kanazawa theoretical expression. Consequently, the designed QCM sensor would be appropriate for sensing applications in liquids, and might take part of a future on-line multichannel low-cost QCM-based measurement system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=holder%20design" title="holder design">holder design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquid-media%20measurements" title=" liquid-media measurements"> liquid-media measurements</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-channel%20measurements" title=" multi-channel measurements"> multi-channel measurements</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QCM" title=" QCM"> QCM</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41987/quartz-crystal-microbalance-holder-design-for-on-line-sensing-in-liquid-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41987.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">382</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">121</span> Embedded Electrochemistry with Miniaturized, Drone-Based, Potentiostat System for Remote Detection Chemical Warfare Agents</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amer%20Dawoud">Amer Dawoud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jesy%20Motchaalangaram"> Jesy Motchaalangaram</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arati%20Biswakarma"> Arati Biswakarma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wujan%20Mio"> Wujan Mio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karl%20Wallace"> Karl Wallace</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The development of an embedded miniaturized drone-based system for remote detection of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWA) is proposed. It is characterized by four lines, which become six lines in some places, in both directions extending over about 10 km length. The road extends between the bridge near the Air Force Base and Half Moon Bay Road. Many accidents have been observed in this road notably over the last two years. Many injuries and deaths were recorded, some of the victims were PMU students. Consequently, management of the road to eliminate or reduce accidents to a large extend becomes imperative. Unfortunately most users tend to block their ads or ignore them. MyAds is a social adaptive hypermedia system for online advertising and its main goal is to explore how to make online ads more acceptable. In order to achieve such a goal, various technologies and techniques are used. This paper presents a theoretical framework as well as the system architecture for MyAds that was designed based on a set of hypotheses and an exploratory study. The system then was implemented and a pilot experiment was conducted to validate it. The main outcomes suggest that the system has provided personalized ads for users. The cost of feedstock is one key problem associated with the biobutanol production. Date palm is sugar-rich fruit and highly abundant. Thousands of tons of date wastes that generated from date processing industries are thrown away each year and imposing serious environmental problems. To exploit the utilization of renewable biomass feedstock, date palm waste was utilized for butanol production by Clostridium acetobutylicum DSM 1731. Fermentation conditions were optimized by investigating several parameters that affect the production of butanol such as temperature, substrate concentration and pH. The highest butanol yield (1.0 g/L) and acetone, butanol, and ethanol (ABE) content (1.3 g/L) were achieved at 20 g/L date waste, pH 5.0 and 37 °C. These results suggest that date palm waste can be used for biobutanol production. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biofuel" title="biofuel">biofuel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acetone-butanol-ethanol%20fermentation" title=" acetone-butanol-ethanol fermentation"> acetone-butanol-ethanol fermentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=date%20palm%20waste" title=" date palm waste"> date palm waste</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Clostridium%20acetobutylicum" title=" Clostridium acetobutylicum"> Clostridium acetobutylicum</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55719/biobutanol-production-from-date-palm-waste-by-clostridium-acetobutylicum" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55719.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">353</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">114</span> The Effect of Artificial Intelligence on Marketing Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yousef%20Wageh%20Nagy%20Fahmy">Yousef Wageh Nagy Fahmy</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mobile phones are one of the direct marketing tools used to reach today's hard-to-reach consumers. Cell phones are very personal devices and you can have them with you anytime, anywhere. This offers marketers the opportunity to create personalized marketing messages and send them at the right time and place. The study examined consumer attitudes towards mobile marketing, particularly SMS marketing. Unlike similar studies, this study does not focus on young people, but includes consumers between the ages of 18 and 70 in the field study. The results showed that the majority of participants found SMS marketing disruptive. The biggest problems with SMS marketing are subscribing to message lists without the recipient's consent; large number of messages sent; and the irrelevance of message content <p
