In the present study, genetic diversity and relationships among 20 collected purslane accessions were evaluated using ISSR markers. The genotyping data were used to understand the relationships among the collected accessions and identify genetically diverse purslane accessions. The 25 primers gave a total of 92 bands, of which 62 were polymorphic (67.4%). The genetic diversity as estimated by Shannon’s information index was 0.55, revealing a quite high level of genetic diversity in the germplasm. The average number of an observed allele, effective allele, polymorphic information content (PIC) and Nei’s index were 2, 1.65, 0.37 and 0.37, respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Portulaca%20oleracea%20L." title="Portulaca oleracea L.">Portulaca oleracea L.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genetic%20diversity" title=" genetic diversity"> genetic diversity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISSR" title=" ISSR"> ISSR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=germplasm" title=" germplasm"> germplasm</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63005/assessment-of-genetic-diversity-of-iranian-purslane-portulaca-oleracea-l-accessions-using-issr-makers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63005.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">451</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">260</span> The Toxicity Effects of HICIDE VD-9 on the Mortality of Lucilia cuprina under Laboratory Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Shahmoradi%20Moghadam">Mehdi Shahmoradi Moghadam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saba%20Kavian"> Saba Kavian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Zabihzadeh"> Mehdi Zabihzadeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amir%20Mohammad%20Alborzi"> Amir Mohammad Alborzi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reza%20Sadeghi"> Reza Sadeghi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cypermethrin is one of the most widely used synthetic insecticides to control pests in veterinary, industrial and agricultural environments. In the present study, the mortalities of Lucilia Cuprina as the key pest of meat were studied after being exposed to HICIDE VD-9 (a ready-to-use disinfectant/insecticide containing cypermethrin, polyhexanide and quaternary ammonium compounds produced by Dana pharmed lotus Co., Iran) within 15 minutes. The experimental results showed that moralities percentage of egg, larvae and adults of Lucilia Cuprina were 48%, 81% and 70%, respectively. Based on the obtained results, it can be predicted that in addition to controlling the insect pests of blow flies, HICIDE VD-9, as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly disinfectant/insecticide, can be effective against other insects, e.g., biting flies, fleas, midges, mosquitoes and ticks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cypermethrin" title="cypermethrin">cypermethrin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HICIDE%20VD-9" title=" HICIDE VD-9"> HICIDE VD-9</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lucilia%20cuprina" title=" Lucilia cuprina"> Lucilia cuprina</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mortality" title=" mortality"> mortality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=toxicity" title=" toxicity"> toxicity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176093/the-toxicity-effects-of-hicide-vd-9-on-the-mortality-of-lucilia-cuprina-under-laboratory-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176093.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">110</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">259</span> Hydrological Method to Evaluate Environmental Flow: Case Study of Gharasou River, Ardabil</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Fuladipanah">Mehdi Fuladipanah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Jorabloo"> Mehdi Jorabloo</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Water flow management is one of the most important parts of river engineering. A single–stranded DNA probe with a thiol modification was covalently immobilized on the surface of the AuE by forming an Au–S bond. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was used to monitor DNA hybridization by measuring the electrochemical signals of reduction of the OB binding to double– stranded DNA (ds–DNA). Our results showed that OB–based DNA biosensor has a decent potential for detection of single–base mismatch in target DNA. Selectivity of the proposed DNA biosensor was further confirmed in the presence of non–complementary and complementary DNA strands. With AC/DC converters on the generator side, this topology can be developed into a multi-terminal DC network for wind power collection, which is especially suitable for large-scale offshore wind farms. For wind farms, the topology uses high-voltage direct-current transmission based on voltage-source converters (VSC-HVDC). Therefore, they do not suffer from over currents due to DC cable faults and there is no over current to react to. In this study, the multi-terminal DC wind farm topology is introduced. Then, possible internal DC faults are analyzed according to type and characteristic. Fault over current expressions are given in detail. Under this characteristic analysis, fault detection and detailed protection methods are proposed. Theoretical analysis and PSCAD/EMTDC simulations are provided. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DC%20short%20circuits" title="DC short circuits">DC short circuits</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-terminal%20DC%20wind%20farm%20topologies" title=" multi-terminal DC wind farm topologies"> multi-terminal DC wind farm topologies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HVDC%20transmission%20based%20on%20VSC" title=" HVDC transmission based on VSC"> HVDC transmission based on VSC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fault%20analysis" title=" fault analysis"> fault analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10282/internal-dc-short-circuit-fault-analysis-and-protection-for-vsi-of-wind-power-generation-systems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10282.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">421</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">255</span> Immobilization of Enzymes and Proteins on Epoxy-Activated Supports</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ehsan%20Khorshidian">Ehsan Khorshidian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Afshin%20Farahbakhsh"> Afshin Farahbakhsh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sina%20Aghili"> Sina Aghili</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Enzymes are promising biocatalysts for many organic reactions. They have excellent features like high activity, specificity and selectivity, and can catalyze under mild and environment friendly conditions. Epoxy-activated supports are almost-ideal ones to perform very easy immobilization of proteins and enzymes at both laboratory and industrial scale. The activated epoxy supports (chitosan/alginate, Eupergit C) may be very suitable to achieve the multipoint covalent attachment of proteins and enzymes, therefore, to stabilize their three-dimensional structure. The enzyme is firstly covalently immobilized under conditions pH 7.0 and 10.0. The remaining groups of the support are blocked to stop additional interaction between the enzyme and support by mercaptoethanol or Triton X-100. The results show support allowed obtaining biocatalysts with high immobilized protein amount and hydrolytic activity. The immobilization of lipases on epoxy support may be considered as attractive tool for obtaining highly active biocatalysts to be used in both aqueous and anhydrous aqueous media. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=immobilization%20of%20enzymes" title="immobilization of enzymes">immobilization of enzymes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=epoxy%20supports" title=" epoxy supports"> epoxy supports</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=enzyme%20multipoint%20covalent%20attachment" title=" enzyme multipoint covalent attachment"> enzyme multipoint covalent attachment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microbial%20lipases" title=" microbial lipases"> microbial lipases</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9260/immobilization-of-enzymes-and-proteins-on-epoxy-activated-supports" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9260.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">387</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">254</span> Numerical Study of Partial Penetration of PVDs In Soft Clay Soils Treatment Along With Surcharge Preloading (Bangkok Airport Case Study)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Mehdi%20Pardsouie">Mohammad Mehdi Pardsouie</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Mokhberi"> Mehdi Mokhberi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Mohammad%20Ali%20Zomorodian"> Seyed Mohammad Ali Zomorodian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Alireza%20Nasehi"> Seyed Alireza Nasehi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> One of the challenging parts of every project, including prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs), is the determination of the depth of installation and its configuration. In this paper, Geostudio 2018 was used for modeling and verification of the full-scale test embankments (TS1, TS2, and TS3), which were constructed to study the effectiveness of PVDs for accelerating the consolidation and dissipation of the excess pore-pressures resulting from fill placement at Bangkok airport. Different depths and scenarios were modeled and the results were compared and analyzed. Since the ultimate goal is attaining pre-determined settlement, the settlement curve under soil embankment was used for the investigation of the results. It was shown that nearly in all cases, the same results and efficiency might be obtained by partial depth installation of PVDs instead of complete full constant length installation. However, it should be mentioned that because of distinct soil characteristics of clay soils and layers properties of any project, further investigation of full-scale test embankments and modeling is needed prior to finalizing the ultimate design by competent geotechnical consultants. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20penetration" title="partial penetration">partial penetration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surcharge%20preloading" title=" surcharge preloading"> surcharge preloading</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=excess%20pore%20water%20pressure" title=" excess pore water pressure"> excess pore water pressure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bangkok%20test%20embankments" title=" Bangkok test embankments"> Bangkok test embankments</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143189/numerical-study-of-partial-penetration-of-pvds-in-soft-clay-soils-treatment-along-with-surcharge-preloading-bangkok-airport-case-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143189.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">207</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">253</span> Prediction Modeling of Alzheimer’s Disease and Its Prodromal Stages from Multimodal Data with Missing Values</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Aghili">M. Furthermore, recent Alzheimer's Disease studies have focused on the delineation of Early Mild Cognitive Impairment (EMCI) and Late Mild Cognitive Impairment (LMCI) from cognitively normal controls (CN) which is essential for developing effective and early treatment methods. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper explores the potential of using the eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm in handling missing values in multiclass classification. We seek a generalized classification scheme where all prodromal stages of the disease are considered simultaneously in the classification and decision-making processes. Given the large number of subjects (1631) included in this study and in the presence of almost 28% missing values, we investigated the performance of XGBoost on the classification of the four classes of AD, NC, EMCI, and LMCI. Using 10-fold cross validation technique, XGBoost is shown to outperform other state-of-the-art classification algorithms by 3% in terms of accuracy and F-score. Our model achieved an accuracy of 80.52%, a precision of 80.62% and recall of 80.51%, supporting the more natural and promising multiclass classification. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eXtreme%20gradient%20boosting" title="eXtreme gradient boosting">eXtreme gradient boosting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=missing%20data" title=" missing data"> missing data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alzheimer%20disease" title=" Alzheimer disease"> Alzheimer disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=early%20mild%20cognitive%20impairment" title=" early mild cognitive impairment"> early mild cognitive impairment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=late%20mild%20cognitive%20impair" title=" late mild cognitive impair"> late mild cognitive impair</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiclass%20classification" title=" multiclass classification"> multiclass classification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ADNI" title=" ADNI"> ADNI</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=support%20vector%20machine" title=" support vector machine"> support vector machine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=random%20forest" title=" random forest"> random forest</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99908/prediction-modeling-of-alzheimers-disease-and-its-prodromal-stages-from-multimodal-data-with-missing-values" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99908.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">188</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">252</span> Spectrum and Prevalence of Candida Infection in Diabetic Foot Ulcers</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Reza%20Aghili">Seyed Reza Aghili</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tahereh%20Shokohi"> Tahereh Shokohi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lotfollah%20Davoodi"> Lotfollah Davoodi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zahra%20Kashi"> Zahra Kashi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azam%20Moslemi"> Azam Moslemi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahdi%20Abastabar"> Mahdi Abastabar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iman%20Haghani"> Iman Haghani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sabah%20Mayahi"> Sabah Mayahi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Asoudeh%20A."> Asoudeh A.</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: In diabetic foot ulcers, if fungal agents such as Candida species penetrate into the cutaneous or depth of ulcer, can increase the degree of the wound and cause Candia infection and make it more difficult to heal. Material & Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 100 diabetic foot ulcer patients in 2020 in Sari, Iran. patient's data and wound grade were recorded in a questionnaire. Candida infection was diagnosed with direct microscopic examination and culture of samples. Colony-PCR molecular method was used for ITS region of DNA and then PCR-RFLP with Msp1 enzyme and using HWP1 specific gene to determine species of Candida agent. Results: Of 100 patients, the mean age 62.1 ± 10.8 years, 95% type 2 diabetes, 83%>10 years duration diabetes, 59% male, 66%> poor education level, 99% married, 52% rural, 95% neuropathic symptoms, 88% using antibiotics, 69%HbA1C >9%, and mean ulcer degree 2.6±1.05 were. Candida infection was seen in 13% of the deep tissue of the wound and 7% cutaneous around the wound. The predominant Candida isolated was C. parapsilosis (71.5%), C .albicans (14.3%). Fungal infections caused by mold fungi were not detected. There was a statistically significant relationship between yeast infection and gender, rural, HbA1C and ulcer degree. Conclusion: Mycological evaluations often are ignored. Candida parapsilosis is the most common infectious agent in these patients and may require specific treatment. Therefore, more attention of physicians to Candida infections particularly, early diagnosis and effective treatment can help faster recovery and prevent amputation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diabetic%20foot%20ulcer" title="diabetic foot ulcer">diabetic foot ulcer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=candida%20infection" title=" candida infection"> candida infection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=risk%20factors" title=" risk factors"> risk factors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=c.%20parapsilosis" title=" c. parapsilosis"> c. parapsilosis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141401/spectrum-and-prevalence-of-candida-infection-in-diabetic-foot-ulcers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141401.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">194</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">251</span> RANS Simulation of the LNG Ship Squat in Shallow Water</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Nakisa">Mehdi Nakisa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adi%20Maimun"> Adi Maimun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yasser%20M.%20Ahmed"> Yasser M. The forward motion of the ship induces a relative velocity between the ship and the surrounding water that causes a water level depression in which the ship sinks. The problem of ship squat is one among the crucial factors affecting the navigation of ships in restricted waters. The damping process is characterized according to two different regimes: at first, damping in stationary viscous fluid, in the second, damping in flowing viscous fluid with constant velocity. Our purpose is to enhance the ability of solving the mentioned nonlinear differential equation with a simple and innovative approach. Comparisons are made between new method and Numerical Method (rkf45). The results show that this method is very effective and simple and can be applied for other nonlinear problems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oscillating%20systems" title="oscillating systems">oscillating systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=angular%20frequency%20and%20damping%20ratio" title=" angular frequency and damping ratio"> angular frequency and damping ratio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pendulum%20at%20fluid" title=" pendulum at fluid"> pendulum at fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=locus%20of%20maximum" title=" locus of maximum"> locus of maximum</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58354/vibration-analysis-of-pendulum-in-a-viscous-fluid-by-analytical-methods" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58354.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">337</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">245</span> Design for Filter and Transitions to Substrat Integated Waveguide at Ka Band</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Damou%20Mehdi">Damou Mehdi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nouri%20Keltouma"> Nouri Keltouma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fahem%20Mohammed"> Fahem Mohammed</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, the concept of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is used to design filter for 30 GHz communication systems. This system is a useful tool for Digital Signal Processing (DSP) since it can support parallel, carry-free, high-speed and low power arithmetic. One of the drawbacks of Residue Number System is the fractional numbers, that is, the corresponding circuit is very hard to realize in conventional CMOS technology. In this paper, we propose a method in which the numbers of transistors are significantly reduced. The related delay is extremely diminished, in the first glance we use this method to solve concerning problem of one decimal functional number some how this proposition can be extended to generalize the idea. Among other modern literary works, Beckett's path-breakingly innovative literature presented the parodies of pointlessness of human actions and thoughts in the world. This new dramatic style catapulted Beckett to the centre stage of modern drama, though it should be mentioned that he may not have been influenced in this without the prevailing climate of ideas. The prevailing literary attitude of Modernism indicates that the modern world is irrational and incoherent. The present study explores Samuel Beckett's literary approach to modern drama and shows how the author could create the characters stuck in a lifelong suspicious about the Self. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modern%20drama" title="modern drama">modern drama</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=absurdity" title=" absurdity"> absurdity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=the%20theatre%20of%20the%20absurd" title=" the theatre of the absurd"> the theatre of the absurd</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=existentialism" title=" existentialism"> existentialism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=self%20searching" title=" self searching "> self searching </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12117/modern-literary-authors-and-samuel-becketts-trace-of-lost-self-in-modernity" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12117.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">529</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">235</span> Removal of Samarium in Environmental Water Samples by Modified Yeast Cells</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Homayon%20Ahmad%20Panahi">Homayon Ahmad Panahi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Mehdi%20Seyed%20Nejad"> Seyed Mehdi Seyed Nejad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elham%20Moniri"> Elham Moniri</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A novel bio-adsorbent is fabricated by attaching a cibacron blue to yeast cells. The modified bio-sorbent has been characterized by some techniques like Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and elemental analysis (CHN) and applied for the preconcentration and determination of samarium from aqueous water samples. The best pH value for adsorption of the brilliant crecyle blue by yeast cells- cibacron blue was 7. The sorption capacity of modified biosorbent was 18.5 mg. g⁻¹. A recovery of 95.3% was obtained for Sm(III) when eluted with 0.5 M nitric acid. The method was applied for Sm(III) preconcentration and determination in river water sample. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
