And their torment <i>was</i> like <i>the</i> torment of a scorpion when it might strike a man. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And in those days, men will seek death, and will not find it; and they will long to die, and death shall flee from them. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>And the appearance of the locusts <i>was</i> like horses having been prepared for battle, and upon their heads <i>were something</i> like crowns, like gold; and their faces like <i>the</i> faces of men. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And they had hair like hair of women, and their teeth were like <i>those</i> of lions. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings <i>was</i> like <i>the</i> sound of many chariots of horses rushing into battle. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And they have tails and stingers like scorpions, and their power to injure men for five months <i>is</i> in their tails. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>They have a king over them, the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew <i>is</i> Abaddon,<span class="fn"><a href="#fna" title="Abaddon means destruction">a</a></span> and in the Greek, he has <i>the</i> name Apollyon.<span class="fn"><a href="#fnb" title="Apollyon means destroyer">b</a></span> </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>The first woe has passed. Behold, two woes still are coming after these things. </p><p class="hdg">The Sixth Trumpet</p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And the sixth angel sounded <i>his</i> trumpet, and I heard one voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God, <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>saying to the sixth angel, the <i>one</i> having the trumpet, “Release the four angels, those having been bound at the great river Euphrates.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And the four angels having been prepared for the hour and day and month and year were released, so that they might kill a third of mankind. <span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And the number of the armies of the cavalry <i>was</i> twice ten thousand ten thousands; I heard the number of them. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/revelation/9-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those sitting on them, having fiery and hyacinthine and brimstone breastplates.
