This paper is the result of that process. It is designed to end any disadvantage that armed service imposes on the forces, their families and the veterans, particularly concerning movement around the country or the world. It also sets out how better to support and recognise those who have been wounded in service. The paper covers: the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme; health (including hospital and rehabilitation facilities, mental health services and veterans’ needs); housing; education and skills; transport (concessionary bus travel for service personnel and blue badge entitlement for disabled veterans); support for families (childcare provision, support for bereaved families); benefits; building careers; Foreign and Commonwealth Office personnel; pay. It outlines what has been achieved already, and future action to preserve and enhance the commitment.
