materials of a burial with an accompanied horse, in Shanaga, Bukhmurun sum, Uvs aimag. The rescue excavation was made in 2011 by researchers of the Institute of Archaeology in the coal mine of Shanaga. This burial has special interests in the study of Ancient Turkic period. The burial with an accompanied horse is one of the characteristic types of nomadic funeral ritual between AD 6-9th centuries, or as it called in Mongolian historiography – the Ancient Turkic period. Shanaga burial with accompanied horse belongs to this period by series of features as location, external and interior structures of the tomb, positioning and orientation of the deceased, and his horse, and composition of the offerings and their specific characteristics. Relative dating of some specific funeral objects such as the silver belt pieces, and bronze pieces of the chest strap and crupper was very productive due to extensive analogues from Russian Altai. Meantime C14 data fits well with those relative dating and both lies in time period of second half of 7th century to first half of 9th century AD. Acknowledgement. Edelman, 2021</p><p class="ds-related-work--abstract ds2-5-body-sm">The article analyzes the correspondence of the goddess names (ə)Xšum in Sogdian and Chorasmian, Bactrian Þομαγο, Ομμα (?) on one side, and Kati Kuṣum&#39;äī, Kalasha Kuṣumai, on the other. We suppose that these are all variants of a single Iranian theonym which was borrowed into the Kafiri and Dardic languages from East Iranian, proto-Munji *Xš ̣umá. We analyze the proposed etymologies of the names of goddesses, the possible coincidences of their roles in pantheon, and critically review iconographic proposals. In the course of the study, an attempt was made to assess the religious situation on the territory of Mongolia and to identify the degree of involvement of the country&amp;#39;s residents in religious life, as well as their perception of state confessional policy. The sample of the study is 362 people. At the same time, the number of respondents included a significant number of respondents who came to Ulan-Bator to study or work from different parts of the country. However, 46% of respondents visit places of worship very rarely, and 22% do not observe any religious rites at all. This fact indicates a rather weak involvement of respondents in religious life, including the Buddhist sangha. This collection dedicated to the memory of V. N. Romanov (d. 2013) is a modest tribute of his grateful colleagues. The book&#39;s structure reflects the diverse academic interests of the scholar: Indian studies, history and theory of culture. In addition to analytic papers dealing with religions and literary traditions of Ancient India and works discussing various lands and cultures of the East and the West (Russia, Japan, the Arab world), the collection in- cludes some original translations of classical texts from Arabic and Persian. The book is aimed at specialists in different fields of philology and cultural history as well as at the general reader interested in the humanities. The article deals with Malayalam-speaking Nambudiri Brahmins residing in Kerala (a south-west region of India), who are still isolated from other Brahmins of India and differ from them in a number of customs. The Nambudiri tradition of Vedic recitations, their rituals, mnemonic techniques, and so forth, form an uninterrupted living tradition, handed down orally from father to son, from teacher to student. The Vedic recensions that follow the Nambudiris are more ancient than other surviving versions, most of them not found anywhere else. The awareness that the Vedas are non-human in origin, beginningless and eternal prompted Brahmins of India to create unique methods for their preservation and transmission without any modification. A number of new studies were published on theoretical problems in this area, which in modern Islamic studies is called “sayyido-sharifology” (K. Morimoto, R. Kilich, T. Bernheimer, etc.). In these studies, in the sense of the holy families, the sayyids are understood, who link their genealogy with the Prophet. The geography of such exploration is also largely limited to North Africa, Middle East and Islamic India. But scientific problems related to holy families also exist in Central Asia, one of the largest and most important regions of the Islamic world. In addition, the situation is complicated by the fact that the holy families in this region go far beyond the boundaries of “sayyido-sharifology”. For example, the descendants of the Rashidun Caliphs (chahariyar) – khwaja also claimed the status of holy families. Marriages and family ties between sayyids and khwajas also further complicated the determination of the social status of khwajas. However, some researchers do not distinguish between the genealogical claims of sayyid and khoja, their status in the society of the region. This negatively affects the interpretation of genealogical texts as well as the setting of tasks in this direction. Taking these aspects into account, this article seeks to reveal the genealogical claims of the khwajas, the process of sacralization, as well as their relationship with the sayyids. К вопросу сакрализацию Центрально Азиатских ходжей История святых семейств (sacred family, saintly family) вмусульманском обществе и их роль в общественно-политической жизни относятся к числу проблем, изучаемых с особым интересом в исламоведение. Был опубликован ряд новых исследований по теоретическим проблемам в этой области, которая в современных исламских исследованиях называется “sayyido-sharifology” (К.Моримото, Р.Килич, Т.Бернхаймер и др.). В этих исследованиях в смысле святых семейств понимается саййиды, которые связывают свою генеалогию с Пророком. География таких исследований также в значительной степени ограничена Северной Африкой, Ближним Востоком и исламской Индией. Однако, научные проблемы, связанные со святых семейств, существуют и в Центральной Азии, одном из крупнейших и наиболее важных регионов исламского мира. Кроме того, ситуация осложняется тем, что святых семейств в этом регионе выходят далеко за границы “sayyido-sharifology”. Например, потомки праведные халифы (чахарийар) - ходжи также претендовали на статус святых семейств. Браки и родственные связи между саййидами и ходжами также еще более усложнял определение социального статуса ходжей. К сожалению, некоторые исследователи не различают генеалогические претензии саййид и ходжа, их статус в обществе региона. Это влияет негативно в интерпретации генеалогических текстов, а также, поставка задач в этой направление. Принимая во внимание эти аспекты, в представленной статье стремится раскрыть генеалогические притязания ходжей, процесс сакрализации, а также их отношении с саййидами.
