Find and 'empty' the following files:

/Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/gun1.aif /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/gun2.aif /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/gun3.aif /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/siren.aif /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/hole_large.png /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/hole_medium.png /Applications/xScope.app/Contents/Resources/hole_small.png

The files need to be there for the app to work but you can open the png files in Photoshop, select all, delete and save. Then open the aif files in a sound app (I used SoundStudio) select all, delete and save.

The app will still try to trigger the sounds/images but because they are empty you won't know they are there.

It was silly to include this in the first place and just stupid of them for not providing users a way to disable it.

xScope Problem

Tom, that's brilliant, don't know why I didn't think of that!

(For anyone who doesn't know how to get inside the xScope.app directory, right-click on the app and click "Show Package Contents.")

xScope Problem

I also found this frustrating - I thought this is just in the demo version but... hey, there they are. Guys, it's funny, but less than funny when you're trying to get some work done.

The other issue is pink overlays. I think it's the "screens" feature but I have checked and re-checked to make sure all shortcuts that could trigger "screens" are off, yet it still happens.

Steps:
- I am using Loupe tool - I hit ctrl-opt-cmd and want to do ctrl-opt-cmd-C to capture a color. However, as I hit ctrl-opt-cmd, a pink overlay appears on many of my iPhone UI elements. It seems to be some sort of detection. If I hit C, I capture the pink - less than helpful. The pink overlay comes and goes when I hit/release the modifier keys.

Regression: This doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough to be annoying. I am confused as to why or what this is, as I am not using Screens, and have no intent to use it.

xScope Problem

Nik and Ben,

We have the next version of xScope (now with optional bullet holes!) submitted to the App Store and it is 'in review'. This version will address a few issues, including an easy way to disable the bullet holes. As soon as it's released we'll post the instructions on disabling so you can turn it off and it's a lot less complicated than the steps above.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with the new version once it's released.

Thanks,
-Kelly Iconfactory Support

xScope Problem

Any update on the pink overlay?
