The proposed converter employs only a single power switch instead of using several switches. Compared to the conventional DC-DC step-up converters the higher voltage gain with small output ripples can be achieved by using the proposed high step-up DC-DC converter topology. It can step up the low input voltage (20-50Vdc) generated from the photovoltaic modules to the high output voltage level approximately 600Vdc in order to supply the three-phase inverter fed the three-phase motor drive. In this paper, the operating principle of the proposed converter topology and its control strategy under the continuous conduction mode (CCM) are described. Finally, simulation results are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed high step-up DC-DC converter with its control strategy to increase the voltage step-up conversion ratio. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DC-DC%20converter" title="DC-DC converter">DC-DC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20step-up%20ratio" title=" high step-up ratio"> high step-up ratio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=renewable%20energy" title=" renewable energy"> renewable energy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20switch" title=" single switch "> single switch </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9443/a-high-step-up-dc-dc-converter-for-renewable-energy-system-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9443.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1193</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">549</span> Analysis of a Power Factor Correction Converter for Light Emitting Diode Driver Application </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edwina%20G.%20Rodrigues">Edwina G. LEDs are low-voltage light sources, requiring a constant DC voltage or current to operate optimally. LEDs, therefore, require a device that can convert incoming AC power to the proper DC voltage, and regulate the current flowing through the LED during operation. Proposed topology has a front end converter. It is an AC-DC rectifier that works on bridgeless boost topology which shapes the input current waveform. The front end converter is followed by a DC-DC converter which provides a constant DC voltage across the LEDs. A 12V AC input is given to the input of frontend converter which rectifies and boost the voltage to 24v DC and gives it to the DC-DC converter. The DC-DC converter converts the 24V DC and regulates this constant DC voltage across the LEDs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bridgeless%20rectifier" title="bridgeless rectifier">bridgeless rectifier</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20factor%20correction%28PFC%29" title=" power factor correction(PFC)"> power factor correction(PFC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SC%20converter" title=" SC converter"> SC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=total%20harmonic%20distortion%20%28THD%29" title=" total harmonic distortion (THD)"> total harmonic distortion (THD)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53400/analysis-of-a-power-factor-correction-converter-for-light-emitting-diode-driver-application" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53400.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">873</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">548</span> A Single Switch High Step-Up DC/DC Converter with Zero Current Switching Condition</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rahil%20Samani">Rahil Samani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saeed%20Soleimani"> Saeed Soleimani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ehsan%20Adib"> Ehsan Adib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Majid%20Pahlevani"> Majid Pahlevani</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents an inverting high step-up DC/DC converter. Basically, this high step-up DC/DC converter is an appealing interface for solar applications. The proposed topology takes advantage of using coupled inductors. Due to the leakage inductances of these coupled inductors, the power MOSFET has the zero current switching (ZCS) condition, which results in decreased switching losses. This will substantially improve the overall efficiency of the power converter. Furthermore, employing coupled inductors has led to a higher voltage gain. Theoretical analysis and experimental results of a 100W 20V/220V prototype are presented to verify the superior performance of the proposed DC/DC converter. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupled%20inductors" title="coupled inductors">coupled inductors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20step-up%20DC%2FDC%20converter" title=" high step-up DC/DC converter"> high step-up DC/DC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zero-current%20switching" title=" zero-current switching"> zero-current switching</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cuk%20converter" title=" Cuk converter"> Cuk converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SEPIC%20converter" title=" SEPIC converter"> SEPIC converter</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107674/a-single-switch-high-step-up-dcdc-converter-with-zero-current-switching-condition" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107674.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">719</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">547</span> A New Converter Topology for Wind Energy Conversion System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahmoud%20Khamaira">Mahmoud Khamaira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Abu-Siada"> Ahmed Abu-Siada</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yasser%20Alharbi"> Yasser Alharbi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) are currently extensively used in variable speed wind power plants due to their superior advantages that include reduced converter rating, low cost, reduced losses, easy implementation of power factor correction schemes, variable speed operation and four quadrants active and reactive power control capabilities. On the other hand, DFIG sensitivity to grid disturbances, especially for voltage sags represents the main disadvantage of the equipment. In this paper, a coil is proposed to be integrated within the DFIG converters to improve the overall performance of a DFIG-based wind energy conversion system (WECS). The charging and discharging of the coil are controlled by controlling the duty cycle of the switches of the dc-dc chopper. Simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed topology in improving the overall performance of the WECS system under study. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=doubly%20fed%20induction%20generator" title="doubly fed induction generator">doubly fed induction generator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coil" title=" coil"> coil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20energy%20conversion%20system" title=" wind energy conversion system"> wind energy conversion system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=converter%20topology" title=" converter topology"> converter topology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28390/a-new-converter-topology-for-wind-energy-conversion-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28390.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">661</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">546</span> Control of Grid Connected PMSG-Based Wind Turbine System with Back-To-Back Converter Topology Using Resonant Controller</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fekkak%20Bouazza">Fekkak Bouazza</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Menaa%20Mohamed"> Menaa Mohamed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Loukriz%20Abdelhamid"> Loukriz Abdelhamid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Krim%20Mohamed%20L."> Krim Mohamed L.</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents modeling and control strategy for the grid connected wind turbine system based on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG). The considered system is based on back-to-back converter topology. The Grid Side Converter (GSC) achieves the DC bus voltage control and unity power factor. The Machine Side Converter (MSC) assures the PMSG speed control. The PMSG is used as a variable speed generator and connected directly to the turbine without gearbox. The pitch angle control is not either considered in this study. Further, Optimal Tip Speed Ratio (OTSR) based MPPT control strategy is used to ensure the most energy efficiency whatever the wind speed variations. A filter (L) is put between the GSC and the grid to reduce current ripple and to improve the injected power quality. The proposed grid connected wind system is built under MATLAB/Simulink environment. Switch mode power supplies (SMPS) overcome the demerits of linear power supplies such as low efficiency, difficulties in thermal management, and in boosting the output voltage. Space applications require a constant DC voltage to supply its load. As the load varies, the battery terminal voltage tends to vary accordingly. To avoid this variation in the load terminal voltage, a DC-DC regulator is required. The conventional regulator for space applications is isolated boost topology. The proposed topology uses an interleaved push-pull converter with a current doubler secondary to reduce the EMI issues and increase efficiency. The proposed topology uses a floating technique where the converter derives power from the battery and generates only the voltage that is required to fill the gap between the bus and the battery voltage. The direct voltage sense and current loop provide tight regulation of output and better stability. Converter is designed with 50 kHz switching frequency using UC 1825 PWM controller employing both voltage and peak current mode control. Experimental tests have been carried out on the converter under different input and load conditions to validate the design. The experimental results showed that the efficiency was greater than 91%. Stability analysis is done using venable stability analyzer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=push%20pull%20converter" title="push pull converter">push pull converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=current%20doubler" title=" current doubler"> current doubler</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=converter" title=" converter"> converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PWM%20control" title=" PWM control"> PWM control</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130512/design-and-development-of-compact-1kw-floating-battery-discharge-regulator" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130512.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">103</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">544</span> Large-Scale Photovoltaic Generation System Connected to HVDC Grid with Centralized High Voltage and High Power DC/DC Converter</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xinke%20Huang">Xinke Huang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Huan%20Wang"> Huan Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lidong%20Guo"> Lidong Guo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Changbin%20Ju"> Changbin Ju</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Runbiao%20Liu"> Runbiao Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shanshan%20Meng"> Shanshan Meng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yibo%20Wang"> Yibo Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Honghua%20Xu"> Honghua Xu </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Large-scale photovoltaic (PV) generation system connected to HVDC grid has many advantages compared to its counterpart of AC grid. A ±10kV/200kW system model is built in MATLAB/SIMULINK to verify the proposed topology and control strategy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PV%20Generation%20System" title="PV Generation System">PV Generation System</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cascaded%20DC%2FDC%20converter" title=" Cascaded DC/DC converter"> Cascaded DC/DC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HVDC" title=" HVDC"> HVDC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Quasi%20Z%20Source%20Converter" title=" Quasi Z Source Converter"> Quasi Z Source Converter</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72079/a-quasi-z-source-based-full-bridge-isolated-dc-dc-converter-as-a-power-module-for-pv-system-connected-to-hvdc-grid" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/72079.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">392</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">542</span> AC Voltage Regulators Using Single Phase Matrix Converter</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nagaraju%20Jarugu">Nagaraju Jarugu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=B.%20R.%20Narendra"> B. The conventional matrix converter consists of 4 bidirectional switches, i.e. 8 set of IGBT/MOSFET with anti-parallel diodes. In this proposed matrix converter, only six switches are used. The switch commutation arrangements are also carried out in this work. The SPMC topology has many advantages as a minimal passive device use. It is very flexible and it can be used as a lot of converters. The gate pulses to the switches are provided by the PWM techniques. The duty ratio of the switches based on Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique was used to produce the output waveform of the circuit, simply by turning ON and OFF the switches. The simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink were provided to validate the feasibility of this proposed method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20phase%20matrix%20converter" title="single phase matrix converter">single phase matrix converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reduced%20switches" title=" reduced switches"> reduced switches</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AC%20voltage%20regulators" title=" AC voltage regulators"> AC voltage regulators</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=boost%20rectifier%20operation" title=" boost rectifier operation"> boost rectifier operation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31741/ac-voltage-regulators-using-single-phase-matrix-converter" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31741.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">1188</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">541</span> Using IoT on Single Input Multiple Outputs (SIMO) DC–DC Converter to Control Smart-home</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Auwal%20Mustapha%20Imam">Auwal Mustapha Imam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of the energy management system is to monitor and control utilization, access, optimize and manage energy availability. This can be realized through real-time analyses and energy sources and loads data control in a predictive way. Smart-home monitoring and control provide convenience and cost savings by controlling appliances, lights, thermostats and other loads. There may be different categories of loads in the various homes, and the homeowner may wish to control access to solar-generated energy to protect the storage from draining completely. Controlling the power system operation by managing the converter output power and controlling how it feeds the appliances will satisfy the residential load demand. The Internet of Things (IoT) provides an attractive technological platform to connect the two and make home automation and domestic energy utilization easier and more attractive. This paper presents the use of IoT-based control topology to monitor and control power distribution and consumption by DC loads connected to single-input multiple outputs (SIMO) DC-DC converter, thereby reducing leakages, enhancing performance and reducing human efforts. A SIMO converter was first developed and integrated with the IoT/Raspberry Pi control topology, which enables the user to monitor and control power scheduling and load forecasting via an Android app. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flyback" title="flyback">flyback</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=converter" title=" converter"> converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DC-DC" title=" DC-DC"> DC-DC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photovoltaic" title=" photovoltaic"> photovoltaic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SIMO" title=" SIMO"> SIMO</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185353/using-iot-on-single-input-multiple-outputs-simo-dc-dc-converter-to-control-smart-home" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185353.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">49</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">540</span> Reduced Switch Count Asymmetrical Multilevel Inverter Topology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Voodi%20Kalandhar">Voodi Kalandhar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Veera%20Reddy"> Veera Reddy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yuva%20Tejasree"> Yuva Tejasree</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Researchers have become interested in multilevel inverters (MLI) because of their potential for medium- and high-power applications. MLIs are becoming more popular as a result of their ability to generate higher voltage levels, minimal power losses, small size, and low price. These inverters used in high voltage and high-power applications because the stress on the switch is low. Even though many traditional topologies, such as the cascaded H-bridge MLI, the flying capacitor MLI, and the diode clamped MLI, exist, they all have some drawbacks. A complicated control system is needed for the flying capacitor MLI to balance the voltage across the capacitor and diode clamped MLI requires more no of diodes when no of levels increases. Even though the cascaded H-Bridge MLI is popular in terms of modularity and simple control, it requires more no of isolated DC source. Therefore, a topology with fewer devices has always been necessary for greater efficiency and reliability. A new single-phase MLI topology has been introduced to minimize the required switch count in the circuit and increase output levels. With 3 dc voltage sources, 8 switches, and 13 levels at the output, this new single- phase MLI topology was developed. To demonstrate the proposed converter's superiority over the other MLI topologies currently in use, a thorough analysis of the proposed topology will be conducted. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DC-AC%20converter" title="DC-AC converter">DC-AC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-level%20inverter%20%28MLI%29" title=" multi-level inverter (MLI)"> multi-level inverter (MLI)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diodes" title=" diodes"> diodes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H-bridge%20inverter" title=" H-bridge inverter"> H-bridge inverter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=switches" title=" switches"> switches</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162081/reduced-switch-count-asymmetrical-multilevel-inverter-topology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162081.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">83</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">539</span> Experimental Analysis of Control in Electric Vehicle Charging Station Based Grid Tied Photovoltaic-Battery System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Hassoune">A. In terms of rapidity and accuracy, the power system consists of a topology/control diagram that would overcome the performance constraints, for instance the power instability, the battery overloading and how the energy conversion blocks would react efficiently to any kind of perturbations. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed topologies operated with a power management algorithm based on voltage/peak current mode controls. It has achieved a large amount of applications in various real-life fields. The main idea of rough sets corresponds to the lower and upper set approximations. These two approximations are exactly the interior and the closure of the set with respect to a certain topology on a collection U of imprecise data acquired from any real-life field. The base of the topology is formed by equivalence classes of an equivalence relation E defined on U using the available information about data. The theory of generalized topology was studied by Cs´asz´ar. It is well known that generalized topology in the sense of Cs´asz´ar is a generalization of the topology on a set. On the other hand, many important collections of sets related with the topology on a set form a generalized topology. The notion of Nano topology was introduced by Lellis Thivagar, which was defined in terms of approximations and boundary region of a subset of an universe using an equivalence relation on it. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new generalized topology in terms of rough set called nano generalized topology <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rough%20sets" title="rough sets">rough sets</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=topological%20space" title=" topological space"> topological space</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=generalized%20topology" title=" generalized topology"> generalized topology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nano%20topology" title=" nano topology "> nano topology </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28088/nano-generalized-topology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28088.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">431</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">537</span> Experimental Study of Boost Converter Based PV Energy System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=T.%20Abdelkrim">T. It degrades the performance of a switching converter. Therefore, it is an essential requirement to mitigate EMI noise of high performance converter. Moreover, it includes two types of emission such as common mode (CM) and differential mode (DM) noise. CM noise is due to parasitic capacitance present in a converter and DM noise is caused by switching current. However, there is dire need to understand the main cause of EMI noise. Hence, we propose a novel method to predict conducted EMI noise of different converter topologies during early stage. This paper also presents the comparison of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise due to different SMPS topologies. Finally, optimal distribution contours of the material densities between voids (0) and solids (1) in design domain represent the determination of topology. It means that regions with element density values become occupied by solids in design domain, while there are only void phases in regions where no density values exist. Therefore the void regions of topology optimization results provide design information to decide appropriate depositions of web-opening in structure. Contrary to the basic objective of the topology optimization technique which is to obtain optimal topology of structures, this present study proposes a new idea that topology optimization results can be also utilized for decision of proper web-opening’s position. Numerical examples of linear elastostatic structures demonstrate efficiency of methodological design processes using topology optimization in order to determinate the proper deposition of web-openings. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=topology%20optimization" title="topology optimization">topology optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=web-opening" title=" web-opening"> web-opening</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structure" title=" structure"> structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=element%20density" title=" element density"> element density</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=material" title=" material "> material </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12450/topology-optimization-of-structures-with-web-openings" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12450.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">473</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">528</span> An Implementation of a Configurable UART-to-Ethernet Converter</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jungho%20Moon">Jungho Moon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Myunggon%20Yoon"> Myunggon Yoon</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents an implementation of a configurable UART-to-Ethernet converter using an ARM-based 32-bit microcontroller as well as a dedicated configuration program running on a PC for configuring the operating parameters of the converter. The program was written in Python. Various parameters pertaining to the operation of the converter can be modified by the configuration program through the Ethernet interface of the converter. The converter supports 3 representative asynchronous serial communication protocols, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 and supports 3 network modes, TCP/IP server, TCP/IP client, and UDP client. The TCP/IP and UDP protocols were implemented on the microcontroller using an open source TCP/IP protocol stack called lwIP (A lightweight TCP/IP) and FreeRTOS, a free real-time operating system for embedded systems. Due to the use of a real-time operating system, the firmware of the converter was implemented as a multi-thread application and as a result becomes more modular and easier to develop. The converter can provide a seamless bridge between a serial port and an Ethernet port, thereby allowing existing legacy apparatuses with no Ethernet connectivity to communicate using the Ethernet protocol. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=converter" title="converter">converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=embedded%20systems" title=" embedded systems"> embedded systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ethernet" title=" ethernet"> ethernet</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lwIP" title=" lwIP"> lwIP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UART" title=" UART"> UART</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83695/an-implementation-of-a-configurable-uart-to-ethernet-converter" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83695.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">706</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">527</span> On the Optimization of a Decentralized Photovoltaic System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zaouche%20Khelil">Zaouche Khelil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Talha%20Abdelaziz"> Talha Abdelaziz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Berkouk%20El%20Madjid"> Berkouk El Madjid</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, we present a grid-tied photovoltaic system. Stringent emission regulations around the world necessitate the use of highly-efficient catalytic converters in vehicle exhaust systems. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a powerful tool for calculating the flow field inside the catalytic converter. Radial velocity profiles, obtained by a commercial CFD code, present very good agreement with respective experimental results published in the literature. However the applicability of CFD for transient simulations is limited by the high CPU demands. In the present work, Geometric modeling ceramic monolith substrate is done with square shaped channel type of Catalytic converter and it is coated platinum and palladium. This example illustrates the effect of flow distribution on thermal response of a catalytic converter and different gas flow velocities, during the critical phase of catalytic converter warm up. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=catalytic%20converter" title="catalytic converter">catalytic converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computational%20fluid%20dynamic" title=" computational fluid dynamic"> computational fluid dynamic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=porous%20media" title=" porous media"> porous media</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=velocity%20distribution" title=" velocity distribution"> velocity distribution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16814/three-dimensional-simulation-of-the-transient-modeling-and-simulation-of-different-gas-flows-velocity-and-flow-distribution-in-catalytic-converter-with-porous-media" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16814.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">858</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">523</span> Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter with Internal Model Controller</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fatih%20Suleyman%20Taskincan">Fatih Suleyman Taskincan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmet%20Karaarslan"> Ahmet Karaarslan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this article, the study and analysis of Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter (SEPIC) are presented for battery charging applications that will be used in military applications. The usage of this kind of converters come from its advantage of non-reverse polarity at outputs. As capacitors charge and discharge through inductance, peak current does not occur on capacitors. Therefore, the efficiency will be high compared to buck-boost converters. In this study, the converter (SEPIC) is designed to be operated with Internal Model Controller (IMC). The traditional controllers like Proportional Integral Controller are not preferred as its linearity behavior. Hence IMC is designed for this converter. This controller is a model-based control and provides more robustness and better set point monitoring. Moreover, it can be used for an unstable process where the conventional controller cannot handle the dynamic operation. Matlab/Simulink environment is used to simulate the converter and its controller, then, the results are shown and discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DC%2FDC%20converter" title="DC/DC converter">DC/DC converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20ended%20primary%20inductance%20converter" title=" single ended primary inductance converter"> single ended primary inductance converter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SEPIC" title=" SEPIC"> SEPIC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internal%20model%20controller" title=" internal model controller"> internal model controller</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IMC" title=" IMC"> IMC</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=switched%20mode%20power%20supply" title=" switched mode power supply"> switched mode power supply</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130008/single-ended-primary-inductance-converter-with-internal-model-controller" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130008.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">629</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">522</span> Regulated Output Voltage Double Switch Buck-Boost Converter for Photovoltaic Energy Application</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Kaouane">M. Consequently, we get an interplay between Algebra and topology, that gives us a better understanding of the S-nice subalgebras of A.
