Yeshua came from Nazareth of Galilee and was immersed in the Jordan by Yohannan.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And at once, as he came up from the waters, he saw the heavens being ripped open and The Spirit who was descending upon him as a dove.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And there was a voice from the heavens: "You are my Son, The Beloved; with you I am delighted."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And at once The Spirit drove him into the wilderness.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he had been there in the wilderness forty days when he was tempted by Satan. And he was with the animals, and Angels were ministering to him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><span class="spcl">After Yohannan was delivered up, Yeshua came to Galilee and was preaching The Gospel of the Kingdom of God.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he said, "Time is coming to an end. The Kingdom of God has arrived. Repent and believe in The Good News."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And as he walked around the Sea of Galilee, he saw Shimeon and his brother Andrewas who were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And at once they left their nets and went after him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when he passed by a little he saw Yaqob, son of Zebedee, and Yohannan his brother, and also those in the ship who were setting their nets in order.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he called them and at once they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and they went after him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when they entered Kapernahum, at once he taught in their synagogue on the Sabbath.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they were dumbfounded at his teaching, for he was teaching them as one having authority and not like their Scribes.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And in their synagogue there was a man who had a vile spirit in him, and he cried out.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he said, "What business do we have with you, Yeshua the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, The Holy One of God."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua rebuked him and said, "Shut your mouth and come out of him."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And the foul spirit threw him down and he cried out in a loud voice and came out of him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And all of them marveled* and they were inquiring with one another, saying, "What is this?", and "What is this new teaching? For he commands even the foul spirits with authority and they obey him."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And at once his fame went out in the whole region of Galilee.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they went out from the synagogue and they came to the house of Shimeon and Andrewas with Yaqob and Yohannan.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And the Mother-in-law of Shimeon was lying ill with fever and they told him about her.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he came near and took her by the hand and raised her up and at once her fever left her and she was waiting on them.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But in the evening at the going down of the sun they brought to him all of them who had been ill and demon possessed.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And the whole city was assembled at the door.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he healed multitudes that had become ill with various diseases and he cast out many evil spirits. He did not allow them to speak because they did know him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And in the very early morning he arose first and went on to a desolate place and there he prayed.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Shimeon and his companions were seeking for him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when they found him they were all saying to him, "The people are all looking for you."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-38.htm"><b>38</b></a></span><span class="spcl">He said to them, "Walk to the villages and the cities near to us, so that I also may preach there, for because of this I have come*."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-39.htm"><b>39</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he was preaching in all their synagogues and in all Galilee and he cast out demons.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-40.htm"><b>40</b></a></span><span class="spcl">A leper came to him, fell at his feet, and begged him, saying, "If you are willing, you are able to make me clean."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-41.htm"><b>41</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua was moved with compassion* for him. Reaching out his hand he touched him and said, "I am willing; be cleansed."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-42.htm"><b>42</b></a></span><span class="spcl">In that moment his leprosy went from him and he was cleansed.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-43.htm"><b>43</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua reproved him and sent him out.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-44.htm"><b>44</b></a></span><span class="spcl">He said to him, "See that you tell no man, but go and show yourself to the priest. Bring gifts for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded for their testimony."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/1-45.htm"><b>45</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But when he went out he began preaching it much and he reported the event so that Yeshua was not able to openly enter the cities.
