It answers my simple questions about weather and currency conversion accurately, it plays the music I ask it to, it identifies songs I'm hearing that I don't know the title/artist, and it adds reminders or calendar items to my calendar when I ask it to. This is not to imply that it couldn't get better or that it doesn't meet other users' expectations, but it does the limited things I want it to do.<br /><br />What the article is saying is that Apple is having to rebuild it from scratch because of AI advancements elsewhere that they are behind on. Doing that is a lot easier when the product isn't a live service, so it's going to roll out in stages over the next year or so.<br /><br />I'd like to see Apple make this more obvious by offering a "Siri update" like they do with system updates. Instead of users having to guess when Siri can handle <task it can't currently handle>, Apple could detail Siri's evolution as part of its detail on system upgrades, so users would know what kinds of new questions they can ask. </div> <span class="UserReactionWrap" data-userid="231080" title="DAalseth - Not sure how you missed that.<br /><br />The report also says sales are too low of the Max for Apple to bother doing anything further with it, implying that it is zombieware (not killed off but no further changes coming) at this point. As a reminder, Apple owns Beats, and they have their own line of headphone products.
