In this context, by following Frankel’s (1986) commodity price overshooting model, we study the dynamic covariation between the expected real interest rates and six agricultural commodities’ real returns over the period from 2000:1 to 2018 for the US economy. We use wavelet analysis to investigate the causal relationship and co-movement of time series data by calculating the coefficient of determination in different frequencies. We find that a) US unconventional monetary policy may cause more positive and significant covariation between the expected real interest rates and agricultural commodities’ real returns over the short horizons; b) a lead-lag relationship that runs from agricultural commodities’ real returns to the expected real short-term interest rates over the long horizons; and c) a lead-lag relationship from agricultural commodities’ real returns to the expected real long-term interest rates over short horizons. In the realm of monetary policy, we argue that QE may shift the negative relationship between most commodities’ real returns and the expected real interest rates to a positive one over a short horizon. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QE" title="QE">QE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=commodity%20price" title=" commodity price"> commodity price</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interest%20rate" title=" interest rate"> interest rate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wavelet%20coherence" title=" wavelet coherence"> wavelet coherence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160778/real-interest-rates-and-real-returns-of-agricultural-commodities-in-the-context-of-quantitative-easing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160778.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">89</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5239</span> Real-Time Visualization Using GPU-Accelerated Filtering of LiDAR Data</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sa%C5%A1o%20Pe%C4%8Dnik">Sašo Pečnik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Borut%20%C5%BDalik"> Borut Žalik</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents a real-time visualization technique and filtering of classified LiDAR point clouds. Real-time visualization is achieved with LOD optimization based on the distance from the observer without loss of quality. The real estate problem can be boiled down to the problem of urbanization, in essence. The growth of hundreds of millions of people in the future will determine the development of low-level demand in the real estate market. At the same time, the practical problems of urbanization also seriously restrict the healthy development of real estate itself. The latter two interact with each other by adjusting the industrial structure, economic aggregate, regional population flow, and many other linkage factors. Through the case analysis of Chongqing, this paper finds that the urbanization of Chongqing and the overall development level of the real estate industry are still in the stage of development and upgrading, and its development potential and future development and application space are still very large. Therefore, from the perspective of the regional economy, studying the interaction between the two is of great significance to accelerate the process of urbanization in Chongqing, promote the healthy development of the real estate industry, and promote the rapid growth of the regional economy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urbanization" title="urbanization">urbanization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=demographics" title=" demographics"> demographics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20estate" title=" real estate"> real estate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interrelationships" title=" interrelationships"> interrelationships</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/158200/the-relationship-between-urbanization-and-the-rapid-development-of-real-estate-industry-in-china-taking-chongqing-as-an-example" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/158200.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">130</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5237</span> Payment for Pain: Differences between Hypothetical and Real Preferences</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20Trarbach">J. To reliably measure this effect, we conducted an experiment with real consequences for preference statements. Therefore, we elicit preferences of subjects using a rating scale, i.e. hypothetical preferences, and willingness to pay, i.e. real preferences, for two sequences of pain. Within these sequences, both overall intensity and duration of pain are identical. Hence, a rational decision-maker should be indifferent, whereas the primacy effect predicts a stronger preference for the first sequence. What we see is a primacy effect only for hypothetical preferences. This effect vanishes for real preferences. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decision%20making" title="decision making">decision making</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=primacy%20effect" title=" primacy effect"> primacy effect</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20incentives" title=" real incentives"> real incentives</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=willingness%20to%20pay" title=" willingness to pay"> willingness to pay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65259/payment-for-pain-differences-between-hypothetical-and-real-preferences" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65259.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">294</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5236</span> Title: Real World Evidence a Tool to Overcome the Lack of a Comparative Arm in Drug Evaluation in the Context of Rare Diseases</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Wahba">Mohamed Wahba</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objective: To build a comparative arm for product (X) in specific gene mutated advanced gastrointestinal cancer using real world evidence to fulfill HTA requirements in drug evaluation. Methods: Data for product (X) were collected from phase II clinical trial while real world data for (Y) and (Z) were collected from US database. Real-world (RW) cohorts were matched to clinical trial base line characteristics using weighting by odds method. Outcomes included progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) rates. Study location and participants: Internationally (product X, n=80) and from USA (Product Y and Z, n=73) Results: Two comparisons were made: trial cohort 1 (X) versus real-world cohort 1 (Z), trial cohort 2 (X) versus real-world cohort 2 (Y). For first line, the median OS was 9.7 months (95% CI 8.6- 11.5) and the median PFS was 5.2 months (95% CI 4.7- not reached) for real-world cohort 1. For second line, the median OS was 10.6 months (95% CI 4.7- 27.3) for real-world cohort 2 and the median PFS was 5.0 months (95% CI 2.1- 29.3). For OS analysis, results were statistically significant but not for PFS analysis. Conclusion: This study provided the clinical comparative outcomes needed for HTA evaluation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20world%20evidence" title="real world evidence">real world evidence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pharmacoeconomics" title=" pharmacoeconomics"> pharmacoeconomics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HTA%20agencies" title=" HTA agencies"> HTA agencies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oncology" title=" oncology"> oncology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174720/title-real-world-evidence-a-tool-to-overcome-the-lack-of-a-comparative-arm-in-drug-evaluation-in-the-context-of-rare-diseases" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174720.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">90</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5235</span> Method Comprising One to One Web Based Real Time Communications</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lata%20Kiran%20Dey">Lata Kiran Dey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajendra%20Kumar"> Rajendra Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Biren%20Karmakar"> Biren Karmakar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Web Real Time Communications is a collection of standards, protocols, which provides real-time communications capabilities between web browsers and devices. Price risk in real estate markets is thus affecting various groups of economic agents, namely, individuals, construction companies and financial institutions. Potential use of property derivatives might help mitigate adverse consequences of negative price dynamics. Unless a sustainable price indicator is developed, settlement of such instruments imposes constraints on counterparties involved while imposing restrictions on real estate market development. The study addresses geographical and classification heterogeneity in real estate prices by means of variance analysis in various groups of real estate properties. In conclusion, we determine optimal sample structure of representative real estate assets with sufficient level of price homogeneity. The composite price indicator based on the sample would have a higher level of robustness and reliability and hence improving liquidity in the market for property derivatives through underlying standardization. Unlike the majority of existing real estate price indices, calculated on country-wide basis, the optimal indices for Russian market shall be constructed on the city-level. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=price%20homogeneity" title="price homogeneity">price homogeneity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=property%20derivatives" title=" property derivatives"> property derivatives</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20estate%20price%20index" title=" real estate price index"> real estate price index</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20estate%20price%20risk" title=" real estate price risk"> real estate price risk</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84668/price-heterogeneity-in-establishing-real-estate-composite-price-index-as-underlying-asset-for-property-derivatives-in-russia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84668.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">307</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5233</span> Forward Stable Computation of Roots of Real Polynomials with Only Real Distinct Roots</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nevena%20Jakov%C4%8Devi%C4%87%20Stor">Nevena Jakovčević Stor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ivan%20Slapni%C4%8Dar"> Ivan Slapničar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Any polynomial can be expressed as a characteristic polynomial of a complex symmetric arrowhead matrix. This expression is not unique. If the polynomial is real with only real distinct roots, the matrix can be chosen as real. By using accurate forward stable algorithm for computing eigen values of real symmetric arrowhead matrices we derive a forward stable algorithm for computation of roots of such polynomials in O(n^2 ) operations. The algorithm computes each root to almost full accuracy. In some cases, the algorithm invokes extended precision routines, but only in the non-iterative part. Our examples include numerically difficult problems, like the well-known Wilkinson’s polynomials. Our algorithm compares favorably to other method for polynomial root-finding, like MPSolve or Newton’s method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=roots%20of%20polynomials" title="roots of polynomials">roots of polynomials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eigenvalue%20decomposition" title=" eigenvalue decomposition"> eigenvalue decomposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arrowhead%20matrix" title=" arrowhead matrix"> arrowhead matrix</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20relative%20accuracy" title=" high relative accuracy"> high relative accuracy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40100/forward-stable-computation-of-roots-of-real-polynomials-with-only-real-distinct-roots" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40100.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">418</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5232</span> Sensitivity, Specificity and Efficiency Real-Time PCR Using SYBR Green Method to Determine Porcine and Bovine DNA Using Specific Primer Cytochrome B Gene</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahlam%20Inayatullah%20Badrul%20Munir">Ahlam Inayatullah Badrul Munir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Husaini%20A.%20Rahman"> M. The useful of technique become very important for student or workers (who works in the laboratory) to learn how the technique could be run smoothly without fail. Same concept with conventional PCR, real-time PCR also needed DNA template, primer, enzyme polymerase, dNTP, and buffer. The difference is in real-time PCR, have additional component namely fluorescent dye. The most common use of fluorescent dye in real-time PCR is SYBR green. The purpose of this study was to find out how sensitive, specific and efficient real-time PCR technique was combined with SYBR green method and specific primers of CYT b. The results showed that real-time PCR technique using SYBR Green, capable of detecting porcine and bovine DNA concentrations up to 0.0001 µl/ng. The level of efficiency for both types of DNA was 91% (90-110). Not only that in specific primer CYT b bovine primer could detect only bovine DNA, and porcine primer could detect only porcine primer. So, from the study could be concluded that real-time PCR technique that was combined with specific primer CYT b and SYBR green method, was sensitive, specific and efficient to detect porcine and bovine DNA. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sensitivity" title="sensitivity">sensitivity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=specificity" title=" specificity"> specificity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=efficiency" title=" efficiency"> efficiency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20PCR" title=" real-time PCR"> real-time PCR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SYBR%20green" title=" SYBR green"> SYBR green</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cytochrome%20b" title=" Cytochrome b"> Cytochrome b</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=porcine%20DNA" title=" porcine DNA"> porcine DNA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bovine%20DNA" title=" bovine DNA"> bovine DNA</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64026/sensitivity-specificity-and-efficiency-real-time-pcr-using-sybr-green-method-to-determine-porcine-and-bovine-dna-using-specific-primer-cytochrome-b-gene" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64026.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">315</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5231</span> Real Activities Manipulation vs. Accrual Earnings Management: The Effect of Political Risk</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Heba%20Abdelmotaal">Heba Abdelmotaal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Magdy%20Abdel-Kader"> Magdy Abdel-Kader</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Purpose: This study explores whether a firm’s effective political risk management is preventing real and accrual earnings management . Each house current value is dependent on the location, room number, transportation, living convenience, year and surrounding environments. Although, there are different experienced models for housing agent to estimate the price, it is a case by case study without overall dynamic variation investigation. However, many economic parameters may more or less influence the real estate price variation. Here, the influences of most macroeconomic parameters on real estate price are investigated individually based on least-square scheme and grey correlation strategy. Then those parameters are classified into leading indices, simultaneous indices and laggard indices. In addition, the leading time period is evaluated based on least square method. The important leading and simultaneous indices can be used to establish an artificial intelligent neural network model for real estate price variation prediction. The real estate price variation of Taipei, Taiwan during 2005 ~ 2017 are chosen for this research data analysis and validation. The results show that the proposed method has reasonable prediction function for real estate business reference. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20estate%20price" title="real estate price">real estate price</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=least-square" title=" least-square"> least-square</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=grey%20correlation" title=" grey correlation"> grey correlation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=macroeconomics" title=" macroeconomics"> macroeconomics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/100459/influence-analysis-of-macroeconomic-parameters-on-real-estate-price-variation-in-taipei-taiwan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/100459.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">198</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5227</span> The Impact of Exchange Rate Volatility on Real Total Export and Sub-Categories of Real Total Export of Malaysia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wong%20Hock%20Tsen">Wong Hock Tsen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study aims to investigate the impact of exchange rate volatility on real export in Malaysia. The objective of this work is to implement a neural networks based approach for real-time scheduling of embedded systems in order to handle real-time constraints in execution scenarios. In our proposed approach, many techniques have been proposed for both the planning of tasks and reducing energy consumption. In fact, a combination of Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) and time feedback can be used to scale the frequency dynamically adjusting the operating voltage. Indeed, we present in this paper a hybrid contribution that handles the real-time scheduling of embedded systems, low power consumption depending on the combination of DVS and Neural Feedback Scheduling (NFS) with the energy Priority Earlier Deadline First (PEDF) algorithm. Indian cities have shown tumultuous growth since last two decades. With the growing need of infrastructure, it has become inevitable for real estate sector to adopt more organized and transparent system of investment. SPVs such as REITs ensure transparency facilitating accessibility to invest in real estate for those who find it difficult to purchase real estate as an investment option with a realistic income expectation from their investment. RIETs or real estate investment trusts is an instrument of pooling funds similar to that of mutual funds. In a simpler term REIT is an Investment Vehicle in the form a trust which holds & manages large commercial rent¬ earning properties on behalf of investors and distributes most of its profit as dividends. REIT enables individual investors to invest their money in commercial real estate assets in a diversified portfolio and on the other hand provides fiscal liquidity to developers as easy exit option and channel funds for new projects. However, the success REIT is very much dependent on the taxation structure making such models attractive and adaptive enough for both developers and investors to opt for such investment option. This paper is intended to capture an overview of REITs with context to Indian real estate scenario. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Indian%20real%20estate" title="Indian real estate">Indian real estate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20estate%20infrastructure%20trusts" title=" real estate infrastructure trusts"> real estate infrastructure trusts</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20finance" title=" urban finance"> urban finance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=infrastructure%20investment%20trusts" title=" infrastructure investment trusts"> infrastructure investment trusts</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33069/reits-india-new-investment-avenue-for-financing-urban-infrastructure-in-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33069.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">467</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5224</span> Real-Time Online Tracking Platform</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Denis%20Obrul">Denis Obrul</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Borut%20%C5%BDalik"> Borut Žalik</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We present an extendable online real-time tracking platform that can be used to track a wide variety of location-aware devices. The purpose of this study was to compare patterns of DD for both real and hypothetical money and cigarettes among participants in the USA and the Czech Republic. Adult smokers from the United States and the Czech Republic completed standard measures of DD for hypothetical and real money (~$10USD) and cigarettes (1 pack, or 20 cigarettes). Contrary to data from the USA sample, Czech Republic participants discounted the value of real money steeper than hypothetical money, though this could be related to the relatively poor fit of the hyperbolic decay function to DD for hypothetical money in the Czech sample. These findings suggest that there might be cultural differences in delay discounting that warrant further attention. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay%20discounting" title="delay discounting">delay discounting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=temporal%20discounting" title=" temporal discounting"> temporal discounting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cigarette%20smoking" title=" cigarette smoking"> cigarette smoking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20rewards" title=" real rewards"> real rewards</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypothetical%20rewards" title=" hypothetical rewards"> hypothetical rewards</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102136/an-intercontinental-comparison-of-delay-discounting-for-real-and-hypothetical-money-and-cigarettes-among-cigarette-smokers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102136.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">188</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5222</span> Real-Time Detection of Space Manipulator Self-Collision</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhang%20Xiaodong">Zhang Xiaodong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tang%20Zixin"> Tang Zixin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liu%20Xin"> Liu Xin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In order to avoid self-collision of space manipulators during operation process, a real-time detection method is proposed in this paper. The earnings management is distinguished between accruals and real earnings management. Hypothesis testing is carried out with logistic regression model using sample of 285 companies listed at Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2010. The result provides evidence that a greater magnitude in accruals earnings management increases the firm’s probability to be eligible to get bank loan. In contrast, real earnings management through abnormal cash flow and abnormal discretionary expenses decrease firm’s probability to be eligible to get bank loan, while real management through abnormal production cost increases such probability. The result of this study suggests that if the earnings management is assumed to be opportunistic purpose, the accruals based earnings management can distort the banks credit analysis using financial statements. Real earnings management has more impact on the cash flows, and banks are very concerned on the firm’s cash flow ability. Therefore, this study indicates that banks are more able to detect real earnings management, except abnormal production cost in real earning management. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=discretionary%20accruals" title="discretionary accruals">discretionary accruals</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20earning%20management" title=" real earning management"> real earning management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bank%20loan" title=" bank loan"> bank loan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=credit%20worthiness" title=" credit worthiness"> credit worthiness</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/5629/earnings-management-and-firms-creditworthiness" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/5629.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">346</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5220</span> A Fundamental Study for Real-Time Safety Evaluation System of Landing Pier Using FBG Sensor</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Heungsu%20Lee">Heungsu Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Youngseok%20Kim"> Youngseok Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jonghwa%20Yi"> Jonghwa Yi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chul%20Park"> Chul Park</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A landing pier is subjected to safety assessment by visual inspection and design data, but it is difficult to check the damage in real-time. The Nigeria commercial real estate is one of the sectors of the economy that has a significant number of the male in the business. This study was conducted to assess the participation of females in estate management in Lagos state, Nigeria. Lagos is the commercial nerve center of Nigeria having the highest number of real estate practitioners and investors. The population due to the daily influx of people has made real estate business to continue to grow in this part of Nigeria. A structured questionnaire duly pre-tested and validated was used to elicit information from the respondents. The data collected were presented using tables and charts and were analyzed using descriptive statistical tools such as frequency counts, percentages, were used to test the hypothesis. The results also indicated that most females that participated in commercial real estate business are educated (80%), fell within 31-40 years of age (75%) and of high income status (88%) earn above ₦800,000 per year, while 10% are real estate investors and 82% of the female in the sector are employee. The study concluded that the number of female participating in various aspect of commercial real estate business in the study area was moderate while the numbers of female investors are low when compared to male. This might be due to the problems associated with rent collection, land disputes and other issues that are associated with property management in Nigeria. It is therefore recommended that females in real estate should be empowered and encouraged to match with their male counterpart. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=commercial%20real%20estate" title="commercial real estate">commercial real estate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=empowerment" title=" empowerment"> empowerment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=female" title=" female"> female</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=participation" title=" participation"> participation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=property%20management" title=" property management"> property management</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34399/females-involvement-in-real-estate-business-in-nigeria-a-case-study-of-lagos-state" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34399.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">332</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5218</span> Pressure Losses on Realistic Geometry of Tracheobronchial Tree</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Michaela%20Chovancova">Michaela Chovancova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jakub%20Elcner"> Jakub Elcner</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Real bronchial tree is very complicated piping system. Analysis of flow and pressure losses in this system is very difficult. Due to the complex geometry and the very small size in the lower generations is examination by CFD possible only in the central part of bronchial tree. For specify the pressure losses of lower generations is necessary to provide a mathematical equation. Determination of mathematical formulas for calculating the pressure losses in the real lungs is due to its complexity and diversity lengthy and inefficient process. For these calculations is necessary the lungs to slightly simplify (same cross-section over the length of individual generation) or use one of the models of lungs. The simplification could cause deviations from real values. The article compares the values of pressure losses obtained from CFD simulation of air flow in the central part of the real bronchial tree with the values calculated in a slightly simplified real lungs by using a mathematical relationship derived from the Bernoulli equation and continuity equation. Then, evaluate the desirability of using this formula to determine the pressure loss across the bronchial tree. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pressure%20gradient" title="pressure gradient">pressure gradient</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=airways%20resistance" title=" airways resistance"> airways resistance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20geometry%20of%20bronchial%20tree" title=" real geometry of bronchial tree"> real geometry of bronchial tree</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=breathing" title=" breathing"> breathing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27498/pressure-losses-on-realistic-geometry-of-tracheobronchial-tree" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/27498.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">323</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5217</span> Real-Time Aerial Marine Surveillance System for Safe Navigation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinesh%20Thiruchelvam">Vinesh Thiruchelvam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Umar%20Mumtaz%20Chowdry"> Umar Mumtaz Chowdry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sathish%20Kumar%20Selvaperumal"> Sathish Kumar Selvaperumal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The prime purpose of the project is to provide a sophisticated system for surveillance specialized for the Port Authorities in the Maritime Industry.
