Before that, he held various IT roles at Denver International Airport over a period of 12 years, where his last role was director of innovation and program portfolio strategy.</p> <p>Denver’s chief data officer position was <a href="https://www.govtech.com/workforce/denver-creates-separate-information-security-data-roles">created this year</a> by splitting the chief data and information security officer’s responsibilities into two roles. Last month, the city announced it had hired <a href="https://statescoop.com/denver-colorado-merlin-namuth-ciso-2024/">Merlin Namuth</a>, a private-sector cybersecurity expert with 25 years of experience, as its new chief information security officer.</p> <p>As the new CDO, Greer will be responsible for developing a comprehensive data strategy aligned with Denver’s goals and using raw data to improve city operations and enhance citizen experiences.
