It also provides mutual authentication between the police and users in order to avoid misusage. The QR code generation in this application overcomes the difficulty in the manual registration of the vehicle documents. This generated QR code is placed in the number plates of the vehicles. The QR code is scanned using the QR Reader installed in the smart devices. The police officials can check the vehicle details and file cases on accidents, theft and traffic rules violations using QR code. In addition to vehicle insurance payments and renewals, the renewal alert is sent to the vehicle owner about payment deadline. The non-permitted vehicles can be blocked in the next check-post by sending the alert messages. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QR%20code" title="QR code">QR code</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QR%20reader" title=" QR reader"> QR reader</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=registration" title=" registration"> registration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=authentication" title=" authentication"> authentication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=idenfication" title=" idenfication"> idenfication</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1704/quick-responseqr-code-for-vehicle-registration-and-identification" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1704.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">494</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Carboxylic Acid-Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Polyindole/Ti2O3 Nanocomposite: Electrochemical Nanomolar Detection of 伪-Lipoic Acid in Vegetables</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ragu%20Sasikumar">Ragu Sasikumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Palraj%20Ranganathan"> Palraj Ranganathan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shen-Ming%20Chen"> Shen-Ming Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Syang-Peng%20Rwei"> Syang-Peng Rwei</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A highly sensitive, and selective 伪-Lipoic acid (ALA) sensor based on a functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes-polyindole/Ti2O3 (f-MWCNTs-PIN/Ti2O3) nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was developed. The fabricated f-MWCNTs-PIN/Ti2O3/GCE displayed an enhanced voltammetric response for oxidation towards ALA relative to that of a f-MWCNTs/GCE, f-MWCNTs-PIN/GCE, Ti2O3/GCE, and a bare GCE. Under optimum conditions, the f-MWCNTs-PIN/Ti2O3/GCE showed a wide linear range at ALA concentrations of 0.39-115.8 碌M. The limit of detection of 12 nM and sensitivity of about 6.39 碌A 碌M-1cm-2. The developed sensor showed anti-interference, reproducibility, good repeatability, and operational stability. Applied possibility of the sensor has been confirmed in vegetable samples. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=f-MWCNT" title="f-MWCNT">f-MWCNT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=polyindole" title=" polyindole"> polyindole</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ti2O3" title=" Ti2O3"> Ti2O3</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alzheimer%E2%80%99s%20diseases" title=" Alzheimer鈥檚 diseases"> Alzheimer鈥檚 diseases</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ALA%20sensor" title=" ALA sensor"> ALA sensor</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84407/carboxylic-acid-functionalized-multi-walled-carbon-nanotubes-polyindoleti2o3-nanocomposite-electrochemical-nanomolar-detection-of-a-lipoic-acid-in-vegetables" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84407.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">225</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Optimization of Pressure in Deep Drawing Process</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ajay%20Kumar%20Choubey">Ajay Kumar Choubey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Geeta%20Agnihotri"> Geeta Agnihotri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C.%20Sasikumar"> C. It is very important for efficiency to achieve parts with no or minimum defects. Deep drawn parts are used in high performance, high strength and high reliability applications where tension, stress, load and human safety are critical considerations. Wrinkling is a kind of defect caused by stresses in the flange part of the blank during metal forming operations. To avoid wrinkling appropriate blank-holder pressure/force or drawbead can be applied. Now-a-day computer simulation plays a vital role in the field of manufacturing process. So computer simulation of manufacturing has much advantage over previous conventional process i.e. mass production, good quality of product, fast working etc. In this study, a two dimensional elasto-plastic Finite Element (F.E.) model for Mild Steel material blank has been developed to study the behavior of the flange wrinkling and deep drawing parameters under different Blank-Holder Pressure (B.H.P.). For this, commercially available Finite Element software ANSYS 14 has been used in this study. Simulation results are critically studied and salient conclusions have been drawn. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ANSYS" title="ANSYS">ANSYS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20drawing" title=" deep drawing"> deep drawing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BHP" title=" BHP"> BHP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finite%20element%20simulation" title=" finite element simulation"> finite element simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wrinkling" title=" wrinkling"> wrinkling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24550/optimization-of-pressure-in-deep-drawing-process" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24550.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">449</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> A Comprehensive Review on the Effect of Corporal Punishment and Development of Defence Styles and Fear of Intimacy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sandra%20Sasikumar">Sandra Sasikumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noorjahan%20AI"> Noorjahan AI</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aurine%20Anthony"> Aurine Anthony</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The background of this article is the frequently unacknowledged effects of corporal punishment in a child's life as they change into adulthood, how it may permutate into various dynamics and combinations and manifest in major areas like fear of intimacy and reactive and ineffective defending styles, which may eventually lead to much more interpersonal problems and in extreme cases psychopathology. Even though such studies require a longitudinal research design, there is a wealth of information on corporal punishment in the literature. Defense styles, or the coping mechanisms that individuals use to deal with stress and difficult emotions, can also be affected by corporal punishment. Individuals who have experienced corporal punishment may develop maladaptive defense styles, such as repression or denial, that can make it difficult for them to process and cope with their emotions. The fear of intimacy, or the fear of getting close to others, is another potential effect of corporal punishment. Individuals who have experienced physical discipline may develop a fear of physical touch, making it difficult for them to form close relationships. This fear can also lead to other mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. It is important to note that not everyone who experiences corporal punishment will develop these issues, and other factors can contribute to the development of these problems. However, corporal punishment can have a significant impact on an individual's mental and emotional well-being. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=corporal%20punishment" title="corporal punishment">corporal punishment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fear%20of%20intimacy" title=" fear of intimacy"> fear of intimacy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=defense%20styles" title=" defense styles"> defense styles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=attachment" title=" attachment"> attachment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/186087/a-comprehensive-review-on-the-effect-of-corporal-punishment-and-development-of-defence-styles-and-fear-of-intimacy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/186087.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">45</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Environmental and Economic Impact of Mangrove Deforestation: Case Study of Vadamaradchy East, Sri Lanka</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kumaraamy%20Sasikumar">Kumaraamy Sasikumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The study was conducted in Vadamarachchi-East in Sri Lanka. Data collection was done for a period of two months from June to July 2011. The main focus of this study was to examine factors contributing to mangrove deforestation within the study area, and resultant impacts from deforestation. The study found that, the main factors that have contributed to deforestation include: Long civil wars in the region, poverty which pushed people to clear the forest to earn income through the sale of firewood and timber among others, industrial development, increasing demand for farm and settlement land, limited knowledge within the local community, weak government polices and implementation strategies, and natural disasters especially the 2004 Tsunami destruction. The impacts presented are those that impact both on the environment and the economy including; loss of income sources, loss of biodiversity, climate change, desertification, conflicts in the use of forest products and loss of land productivity due to reduced fertility caused by soil erosion. However, a few strategies have been put in place by the government to ensure the sustainable use of mangrove forest products, though these have not proved successful in reducing deforestation. The recommendations make suggestions to the government and other stakeholders to work together in ensuring sustainable use of natural resources, for example implementing laws and regulations aimed at controlling deforestation among others. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deforestation"
