The thing I love about the game is the fact that it actually has a sense of humour, given the first was completely devoid, and the little touches they've added. I'd never explored the local cluster before now, assuming that, as it was the human home system, the resources had all been stripped. Started scanning the planets and eventually got round to Uranus. It shows as depleted but I thought I'd fire a probe anyway. EDI's response on launching the probe was "Really commander?" and with the second probe, in a very resigned voice it was "Probing Uranus". Great little game. </p><p>The I played a bit of Brutal Legend- which is a laugh but some of the directions they took the game are baffling, a sandbox Overlord-esque game doesn?t really seem to suit the quality of the script- a more linear storyline might have worked better. </p><p>Then I played a few pre-season games with the Indianapolis Colts in Madden 10, I'm not really sure what I'm doing half the time but the polish on the game is great. In order to work out what some of the plays do and to get my head around the plethora of button options I've turned the skill level down to amateur but I think I?m going to have to turn it up again as I keep battering teams 40+ to nil. I took that to be that you probably wouldn't be playing again. However it sounds like it's a more interesting version of MW2 which (like many) I found a major disappointment after CoD4. </p><p>[1] Is BF primarily a multiplayer game? And if so, given that it looks much more tactical than MW2, do I need to be part of a clan/team in order to get the most out of the online game - or does it have a reasonable matchmaking facility? </p><p>[2] Am I right in thinking that most NaN activity will be console-based? (Currently with MW2 I occasionally run into Limni on line but that's about it. I think the rest of you are PS3ing.) </p><p>Anything else I need to know before deciding whether to buy? First game Naboo scored one of the nicest goals ever scored against me. About 14 yards out, left centre of the box and a delicate lob into the bottom corner. A truly great goal. Have to just doff your cap sometimes. Unfortunately, the gods of lag took over the rest of the first half and made me look stupid for most of it. Luckily, it improved 2nd half and I absolutely threw the kitchen sink at him. His keeper made 2 or 3 world class saves and he hung on grimly for the 1-0. Naboo kindly offered to make it a friendly but fairs fair, his goal deserved the win. </p><p>2nd game started similarly except I managed to score after a defensive mix up with a 25 yard screamer that had his keeper plucking at thin air (for once). after this Naboo absolutely murdered me for the rest of the half and how he didn't score I'll never know. 2nd half I think lag intervened as it was much closer. I had a spell of hitting bar, post then bar in about 3 seconds but no more scoring happened so ended 1-0. About right overall but cracking games nonetheless. Wiki is updated. </p><p>Also cheers to <b>Treble</b> for the friendlies before. I think Spuds are a cheat team as I beat him using Arsenal 4-0 and it could have been 8 or 9. 2nd game was a Milan derby and Treble played much better and nicked it in the last 5 mins. </p><p><b>Barry</b> - Will catch up with you over the weekend for our games.</p><p><b>Real footie </b>- Shocking 1st half, looked good 2nd half. Carrick did much better than Lampard, SWP much better than Walcott and I'd even say Crouch looked better than Defoe. From line up of 1st half looked like Fabio had fallen into the trap of picking our 11 best (available) players instead of making a team. I didn't think Dante's Inferno had been a great commercial success? This game rips it off wholesale <i>but you don't even get to decide to save or punish people</i>. At one point I thought I was putting out a helping hand to save an innocent on a ledge, then I grabbed his head and smashed it against the wall so I could get past. </p><p>Nice violence though. </p><p><b>McBegbie</b> That's a spoiler I can live with, I'll need to chek that out. </p><p><b>Beard Of Bees</b> missed your post yesterday, yes I got Tekken, but I wouldn't really recommen it unless you're a Tekken fanatic. It doesn't bring anything new except a really really badly implemented scenario mode. It still plays like any other Tekken you've played, whether that's a good or bad thing is down to you I guess. I have friends who are fanatics so I'll keep it anyway for them coming round. Not bad in the one on one fights but we've seen it all 5 times before. Not including PSP versions. </p><p><b>Toy Soldiers</b> Yay! Another arcade game where i'm not really sure exactly what it is I should be doing. Popped in to their shop on the way home to see what was on offer for an upgrade and essentially was escorted from the premisis, thrown into the street and given a sound thrashing.</p><p>Apparently I'm "Only a tier 3 customer" and in order to get a decent handset upgrade one needs to be tier 5. What constitutes tier 5 I asked? The 3D implementation will always be behind DirectX, and there isn't the drive by developers to make really good ports - if a game is a huge commercial success on PC, then there's usually not too compelling reasons to port it the the Mac. Having got the first few games out of the way early doors I rested on my laurels. Whilst my commitment had not faultered my participation had. I let myself down, I let League 2 down and I let Konami down.</p><p>Still, this is being rectified with a full league session. First a lesson from the good doctor saw me lose 3-0 and 2-1, then Sheep joined in but at least this time I managed to rectify a 2-1 defeat with a 0-0. Both games were excellent fun, cheers chaps.</p><p>However, the cherry on the top in terms of excitement were the two games against SirGigg. The first was a belter that saw SirGigg go 1 up only for me to peg him back. Riled he shot 3-1 ahead. Again I clawed it back to 3-3 before faultering at the end to lose 4-3. Lawro was pulling his hair out. The second game saw my only win of the night, 1-0 thanks to a bit of a wonder strike, but 4-4 on aggregate? Seems a bit triky to learn but looks like great fun. Dizzy has been enjoying it.
