دفاع خواجہ آصف کا کہنا ہے کہ اگر ہندوستان کی قیادت پر جنگی جنون سوار رہا تو پاکستان کسی بھی سطح کی مختصر یا طویل جنگ کے لیے تیار ہے.</p><p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160102221819/http://www.radio.gov.pk/newsdetail/79070/1">ریڈیو پاکستان</a> کی ایک رپورٹ کے مطابق ایک انٹرویو کے دوران وزیر دفاع خواجہ آصف نے کہا کہ پاکستان خطے سمیت پوری دنیا میں امن کا خواہاں ہے لیکن اگر اُسے اُکسایا گیا تو وہ 'مناسب' جواب دینے کے لیے پوری طرح سے تیار ہے.</p><p>وزیر دفاع خواجہ آصف نے کہا کہ پاکستانی مسلح افواج نے 1965 میں ہندوستانی فوج کے عزائم خاک میں ملا دئیے تھے اور اب وہ مزید تجربہ کار اور پیشہ ورانہ فوج ہے۔</p><p>ان کا کہنا تھا کہ پاکستانی فورسز نہ صرف اپنی سرزمین پر دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ لڑ رہی ہیں بلکہ کسی بھی بیرونی دشمن سے نمٹنے کے لیے تیار ہیں.</p><p>خواجہ آصف نے مزید کہا کہ وزیراعظم نواز شریف امن پر یقین رکھتے ہیں لیکن اگر پاکستان کی بقا کو کوئی مسئلہ درپیش ہوا تو ملک کے دفاع کے لیے کسی بھی قسم کی قربانی دینے سے دریغ نہیں کیا جائے گا.</p><p>خواجہ آصف کا بیان ایک ایسے وقت میں سامنے آیا ہے جب گذشتہ روز ہندوستان کے آرمی چیف جنرل دلبیر سنگھ نے اعلان کیا تھا کہ ضرورت پڑنے پر انڈیا اپنی سرحدوں پر جارحانہ فوجی کارروائی کے لیے
