These issues have resulted in Connor experiencing symptoms such as a chesty cough – although this is not confirmed to be a direct result of the mould.</p> <p>The mould was reported to the university, and a maintenance worker painted over the issue.</p> <p>Wayne stated: “I went in on Sunday (November 3rd) after being home for the weekend and I touched his bed and under his pillow was soaking wet.</p> <p>“There was water running down the walls and the mattress had black spots all over it. Everything was covered in fur.”</p> <p>As a result of these issues, multiple of Connor’s items had to be disposed of such as clothing, shoes and photo frames.</p> <p>Connor <a href="https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/24702774.bournemouth-university-accommodation-covered-mould/">stated</a> in an email to The Student Village housing team: “I feel extremely let down by Bournemouth University.”</p> <p>Referencing Connor’s situation, a Bournemouth University spokesman <a href="https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/24702774.bournemouth-university-accommodation-covered-mould/">said</a>:</p> <p>“We are committed to provide our students with safe and comfortable places to live when they stay in our accommodation and agree that this required urgent attention.</p> <p>– We have systems for reporting maintenance issues and raising complains if students are unhappy with repair work.
