interdisciplinary science that combines the physical as well as chemical aspects of matter and their processing that would result in various Engineering applications. Material Sciences generally involves discovery and design of new solid materials. Material sciences have wider applications in the field of engineering. Hence it is both pure as well as an applied science. Material Science evolved as a result of analytical applications of Physics and Chemistry to understand the broader principles of the nature by the scientists.
