Or<MG2228> do we need<MG5535>, as some<MG5100>, letters<MG1992> of commendation<MG4956> to you or<MG2228> from you? <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>You are our letter<MG1992>, written<MG1449> in our hearts<MG2588>, known<MG1097> and read<MG314> by all<MG3956> people<MG444>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>revealing<MG5319> yourselves, that you are a letter<MG1992> of Christ<MG5547>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>delivered<MG1247> by us, written<MG1449> not with ink<MG3189> but with the Spirit<MG4151> of the living<MG2198> God<MG2316>, not on tablets<MG4109> of<MG3035> stone<MG3035> but on tablets<MG4109> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>human<MG4560> hearts<MG2588>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Such<MG5108> <i>is the</i> confidence<MG4006> we have<MG2192> toward<MG4314> God<MG2316> through<MG1223> Christ<MG5547>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Not that we are adequate<MG2425> in ourselves<MG1438> <i>so as</i> to consider<MG3049> anything<MG5100> as <i>having come</i> from ourselves<MG1438>, but our adequacy<MG2426> is from God<MG2316>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>who<MG3739> also<MG2532> made<MG2427> us adequate<MG2427> <i>as</i> servants<MG1249> of a new<MG2537> covenant<MG1242>, not of the letter<MG1121> but of the Spirit<MG4151>; for the letter<MG1121> kills<MG615>, but the Spirit<MG4151> gives<MG2227> life<MG2227>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>But if<MG1487> the ministry<MG1248> of death<MG2288>, engraved<MG1795> in letters<MG1121> on stones<MG3037>, came<MG1096> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>with glory<MG1391> so<MG5620> that<MG5620> the sons<MG5207> of Israel<MG2474> could<MG1410> not look<MG816> intently<MG816> at the face<MG4383> of Moses<MG3475> because<MG1223> of the glory<MG1391> of his face<MG4383>, fading<MG2673> <i>as</i> it was, <span class="reftext"><a href="/2_corinthians/3-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>how<MG4459> will the ministry<MG1248> of the Spirit<MG4151> fail<MG3780> to be <i>even</i> more<MG3123> with glory<MG1391>?
