More information about employing EU citizens can be found <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a style="background-color: #ffff99;" href="/en/work/employment-of-eu-citizens.html">here</a></span>.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;">If you want to work in Slovakia and are not an EU citizen, you must meet various conditions depending on the type of your residence in Slovakia, the work you want to perform, the length of your stay, and other circumstances.</p> <p class="ja-typo-box box-information"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/download/info-cards/itemlist/category/73-temporary-residence.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Find more information in our Fact Sheets on different types of residence permits</a>.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;">In general, a聽non-EU national聽can be employed in Slovakia if he/she:</p> <ul style="text-align: justify;"> <li>holds an <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/residence/temporary-residence/236-modra-karta-eu-2.html">EU Blue Card</a>:</span></strong> <ul> <li><strong>based on the confirmation</strong> of the聽possibility to fill a聽vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment, or</li> <li><strong>and the聽Labour聽Office has issued a consenting聽</strong><span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: left;"><strong>confirmation聽</strong>of</span>聽the聽possibility to fill a聽vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment, or</li> <li>and聽he/she has <strong>notified this employer after 12 months</strong> of performing high-skilled employment based on the Blue Card, or</li> <li>based on an application for the <strong>renewal</strong> of the Blue Card submitted <strong>after 12 months</strong> of performing high-skilled employment聽under a聽Blue Card and聽specified this employer in the renewal application, or</li> <li>and the聽Labour聽Office has issued a consenting confirmation of the聽possibility to fill a聽vacancy.</li> </ul> </li> <li>has been聽granted <strong>temporary residence for the purpose of employment</strong>聽(so-called <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/work/3.html"><strong>single</strong> <strong>permit</strong></a></span>), <ul> <li><strong>based on</strong>聽<strong>the confirmation </strong>of the possibility to fill in a vacancy, or</li> <li><strong>and the聽Labour聽Office has issued a consenting聽</strong><span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: left;"><strong>confirmation聽</strong>of</span>聽the聽possibility to fill a聽vacancy,聽</li> </ul> </li> <li>has been granted <strong>a</strong> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/work/work-permit.html">work permit</a></span><strong>聽and temporary residence for the purpose of employment</strong>,</li> <li>has been granted聽<strong>a</strong>聽<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/work/work-permit.html">work permit</a></span><strong>聽and temporary residence for the purpose of</strong><strong>聽family reunification</strong>聽(within the first聽9 months of being granted the residence),</li> <li>has been granted聽<strong>a</strong>聽<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/work/work-permit.html">work permit</a></span><strong>聽</strong>and temporary residence as<strong>聽</strong>a third-country national聽who has been granted聽<strong>long-term residence in another EU Member State </strong>(within the first 12 months聽of being granted the residence),聽</li> <li>has聽been issued a <strong>consenting confirmation</strong> of the possibility to fill in a vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment and his/her聽<strong>application</strong> for a Blue Card has been <strong>accepted</strong> along with all the necessary documents,</li> <li>has聽been issued a <strong>consenting confirmation</strong>聽of the possibility to fill in a vacancy and his/her<strong> application</strong> for temporary residence for the purpose of employment has been <strong>accepted</strong> along with all the necessary documents,</li> <li>meets the conditions under which he/she聽<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="/en/work/who-does-not-need-a-work-permit-or-confirmation.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>does not need聽the confirmation of the possibility to fill in a vacancy nor the work permit</strong></a></span>聽for employment.</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br /> If you need a work permit, a confirmation of the possibility to fill a vacancy or if you hold the EU Blue Card, you聽can聽<strong>only聽</strong>work聽under an聽<strong>employment contract)</strong>.
