<p>واصلت وسائل الاعلام المختلفة التي تراقب الشأن العراقي، تسليط الضوء على الجرائم الوحشية والانتهاكات الصارخة لحقوق الانسان التي ارتكبتها الادارة الامريكية ضد العراقيين الابرياء خلال السنوات التسع الماضية، ولا سيما جريمة الاسلحة المحرمة دوليا التي استخدمتها قوات الاحتلال الغازية ضد مدينة الفلوجة عام 2004</p> <p>والتي ما زال اهالي هذه المدينة المنكوبة يعانون من آثار تلك الاسلحة الفتاكة التي طالت حتى الاجنة في بطون امهاتها، في الوقت الذي يتوقع الباحثون في هذا المجال استمرار الولادات المشوهة في هذه المدينة، وغيرها من مدن العراق الى الاف السنين .فقد أكد شبكة دولية ان استخدام قوات الاحتلال الامريكية للاسلحة المحظورة في الفلوجة كبرى مدن محافظة الانبار ما زالت تتسبب في ولادات مشوهة وامراض خطيرة ولا سيما في صفوف الاطفال حديثي الولادة.ونقلت الانباء الصحفية عن شبكة ( الاتصالات والصحافة من اجل تغيير العالم ) قولها في تقرير اصدرته مؤخرا قولها : إن القائمين على مستشفى الفلوجة العام لا يستطيعون اعطاء احصاءات دقيقة باعداد الأطفال الذي ولدوا بتشوهات خلقية خلال الاعوام التي اعقبت الهجوم الامريكي على هذه المدينة، لكنهم يؤكدون إن أعدادهم كبيرة، في الوقت الذي يرفض فيه الآباء الحديث عن مأساة اطفالهم .ونسبت الشبكة في تقريرها الى ( ناظم شكر الحديدي ) مدير مكتب إعلام مستشفى الفلوجة العام، قوله " أن العائلات المنكوبة تدفن مواليدها الجدد المشوهون بعد وفاتهم، دون الابلاغ تلك الحالات التي يعدونها مخجلة جدا بالنسبة لهم " .. موضحا ان المستشفى سجل في كانون الثاني الماضي (672) حالة، من الكثير من الحالات الكثيرة المشابهة التي لا تصل الى المستشفى .واكد ( الحديدي ) ان قوات الاحتلال الامريكية الهمجية جربت في عام 2004، كل انواع المواد الكيمياوية والمتفجرات والاسلحة الحرارية على ابناء مدينة الفلوجة كما استخدمت الاسلحة المحرمة دوليا كالفوسفور الأبيض، واليورانيوم المنضّب، الى الحد الذي كان جميع سكان هذه المدينة المنكوبة بمثابة فئران مختبر بالنسبة لتلك القوات المسعورة التي ارتكبت ابشع الجرائم والانتهاكات الصارخة لحقوق الانسان التي تتشدق زورا وبهتانا بحمايتها .واوضح التقرير ان ( الحديدي ) عرض صورا على جدار مكتبه، تظهر عددا من الاطفال حديثي الولادة المشوهون، بعضهم بدون دماغ، واخرين بدون عيون، أو ان أمعاءهم خارج بطونهم، كما عرض صورة نادرة لطفل ولد بدون اعضاء .. مشيرا الى انه من الصعوبة بمكان التحديق الدقيق في تلك الصور، التي حتى المسؤولين في المستشفى يغمضون عيونهم عند شرحهم لتلك الحالات .واعادت الشبكة الدولية في تقريرها الى الاذهان التظاهرات المناهضة للاحتلال الغاشم ولا سيما خلال الاشهر القليلة التي اعقبت دخول القوات الامريكية الى العراق الجريح عام 2003، لكنها اكدت ان مدينة الفلوجة الواقعة على نهر الفرات، لم تشهد الأسوأ إلا في عام 2004، وتحديدا في الحادي والثلاثين من آذار، بعد اغتيال اربعة من عناصر شركة (بلاكووتر) سيئة الصيت المتعاقدة مع القوات الامريكية في المدينة ، والذين اعلنت ( القاعدة ) مسؤوليتها عن اغتيالهم، الا ان سكان هذه المدينة دفعوا الثمن غاليا خلال عملية اطلقت عليها وزارة الحرب الامريكية ( البنتاغون ) اسم ( الشبح الغاضب ) حيث شهدت مدينة الفلوجة أكبر معركة لم يشهدها العالم منذ معركة مدينة ( هيو ) الفيتنامية عام 1968.واشار التقرير الى ان الهجوم الثاني الذي شنتها قوات الاحتلال الامريكية في تشرين الثاني عام 2004، كان اسوأ بكثير من الهجوم الاول الذي شهدته الفلوجة في نيسان من العام نفسه، اذ شنت تلك القوات الغازية عمليات دهم وتفتيش طالت معظم منازل المواطنين، قبل ان تنفذ عمليات القصف الليلي المكثف، الذي تسبب بتدمير هائل لم تزل آثاره شاهدة على تلك الجريمة النكراء.وفندت الشبكة المزاعم التي اطلقها المسؤولون في الادارة الامريكية التي ادعوا فيها ان قوات الاحتلال استخدمت الفسفور الابيض لإضاءة الاهداف خلال الليل، .. مشيرة الى ان مجموعة من الصحفيين الايطاليين سرعان ما قدمت دليلا وثائقيا على ان الفسفور الابيض كان نوع آخر من الاسلحة المحظورة التي استخدمتها تلك القوات ضد المدنيين في مدينة الفلوجة.كما نسبت الشبكة الدولية الى ( عبد القادر الراوي ) احد الاطباء العاملين في مستشفى الفلوجة العام، ـ الذي كان عائدا للتو من فحص حالة ولادة جديدة مثيرة للاعصاب ـ قوله " ان هذه البنت ولدت بمتلازمة (داندي وولكر) حيث ان دماغها منقسم الى نصفين، وأشك في انها ستعيش " .. موضحا ان متلازمة ( داندي وولكر ) هي تشوه دماغ ولادي يشمل المخيخ، مع وجود سائل يملأ الفراغات المحيطة به.واشارت الشبكة إلى دراسة نشرتها ( المجلة الدولية لبحوث البيئة والصحة العامة ) التي تتخذ من سويسرا مقرا لها، في تموز عام 2010، جاء فيها ان ( زيادة معدلات الاصابة بالسرطان، واللوكيميا ووفيات الرضع ونسبة اضطرابات الجنس لدى المواليد بين صفوف الناس العاديين في الفلوجة، اكبر بكثير من تلك التي شهدها الناجون من القنبلتين النوويتين اللتين القتهما امريكا على مدينتي ( هيروشيما وناغازاكي ) خلال عام 1945" .. موضحة ان الباحثين اكتشفوا بان هناك زيادة في الإصابة بامراض اللوكيميا في الفلوجة بنحو ( 38 ) مرة مما شهدته المدينيتين اليابانيتين المذكورتين، كما وصف محللون سياسيون معروفون هذه الاستنتاجات بأنها اكثر اثارة للحرج مما سربه موقع ويكيليكس عن افغانستان.من جهتها كشفت الدكتورة ( سميرة العاني ) رئيسة اطباء في مستشفى الفلوجة العام ـ اشتركت في دراسة اجريت بتعاون وثيق مع منظمة الصحة العالمية ـ في تصريح للشبكة الدولية النقاب عن وجود كميات كبيرة من اليورانيوم والزئبق، في جذور شعر المصابين من ابناء الفلوجة خلال الفحوصات التي اجريت في لندن، ما يؤكد اتساع نسبة المشكلات الخلقية الولادية في هذه المدينة التي تعرضت لاسلحة محظورة دوليا .وشددت الشبكة في ختام تقريرها على إن استخدام قوات الاحتلال الامريكية لليوانيوم المنضب (DU)، وهو من العناصر المشعة، اضافة الى الفسفور الابيض، الذي يزيد كثيرا من قدرة تغلغل الشظايا في الجسم، سيبقى فعالا لمدة تصل الى اربعة مليارات و (500) عام .. لافتة الانتباه الى ان المهندسين العسكريين وصفوا هذا السلاح الفتاك بانه القاتل الصامت الذي لا يتوقف ابدا عن القتل.الجدير بالذكر ان شبكة ( الاتصالات والصحافة من اجل تغيير العالم)، هي منظمة صحفية دولية تركز على التنمية، والتعريف بالشعوب وقضاياهم، وتحفيز الحوار والتعاون، وبث أصوات الأهالي والمجتمع المدني، والدفاع عن الحقوق الأساسية والمساواة، كما تصدر نشرات دورية متخصصة بهذه القضايا.</p> </div> </div> <hr/> والتكنولوجيا ان العراق بات يحتل مركز الصدارة بين دول العالم في حالات التشوه الخلقي بين الولادات الجديدة. وقال الخبير في الوزارة بمجال المواد الخطرة الدكتور منجد عبد الباقي النائب في تصريح صحفي اليوم، ان العراق احتل مركز الصدارة بين الدول الأخرى في ارتفاع حالات التشوهات الخلقية الحاصلة فيه نسبة الى عدد السكان المتواجدين فيه، مشيراً الى ان هذه التشوهات جاءت نتيجة للحروب التي خاضها العراق وخصوصاً الحرب الأخيرة عام 2003. وبين ان العراق كانت له دراسات عن نسبة التشوهات الخلقية للسكان قبل خوض حربي الخليج الثانية والثالثة وبعدهما حيث أظهرت ارتفاع حالات الشوه الخلقي والتي تكون في اغلب الأحيان غير طبيعية. وكان وزير الدفاع البريطاني ليام فوكس قال في رسالة مكتوبة الى مجلس العموم البريطاني، إن القوات البريطانية والامريكية استخدمت اليورانيوم المنضب في العراق في العام 2003. وأشار إلى ان القوات البريطانية استخدمت 1.9 طن متري من ذخيرة اليورانيوم المنضب في الحرب على العراق عام 2003. ويأتي هذا التصريح في أعقاب دراسة مشتركة اجرتها وزارات البيئة والصحة والعلوم في العراق، حيث وجدت الدراسة ان نحو 40 موقعاً في مختلف مناطق العراق تعاني تلوثاً بمستويات عالية من الاشعاعات والمواد السامة مثل مادة الدايوكسين. وقال فوكس ان وزارة الدفاع البريطاني زودت برنامج الأمم المتحدة البيئي بأسماء المواقع التي هوجمت باستخدام الذخيرة المحتوية على اليورانيوم المنضب، مشيراً الى أن الوزارة تبادلت المعلومات مع المنظمات الانسانية وغيرها وقامت بتحذير العراقيين عبر اللافتات والعلامات التي تشير الى عدم لمس أي من birth defects in the Iraqi city of Falluja has for the first time concluded that genetic damage could have been caused by weaponry used in US assaults that took place six years ago.</p> <p>The research, which will be published next week, confirms earlier <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130128235437/http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/nov/13/falluja-cancer-children-birth-defects" class="external" target="_blank">estimates revealed by the Guardian of a major, unexplained rise in cancers and chronic neural-tube, cardiac and skeletal defects in newborns</a>. The authors found that malformations are close to 11 times higher than normal rates, and rose to unprecedented levels in the first half of this year – a period that had not been surveyed in earlier reports.</p> <p>The findings, which will be published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, come prior to a much-anticipated World Health Organisation study of Falluja’s genetic health. They follow two alarming earlier studies, one of which found a distortion in the sex ratio of newborns since the invasion of <a border="0"/></a>قالت صحيفة بريطانية  ان وزارة الدفاع البريطانية التي تعاني نقصاً في السيولة المادية تواجه احتمال دفعها تعويضات لمئات العراقيين الذين تم اعتقالهم على يد الجيش البريطاني وتعرضوا لسوء المعاملة . </p> <p>وذكرت صحيفة التايمز البريطانية على موقعها الالكتروني امس ان وزارة الدفاع سبق ودفعت ملايين الجنيهات كتعويضات لضحايا الاعتداء الجسدي والجنسي وسوء المعاملة من العراقيين اثر احتجازهم في المناطق التي تواجد فيها الجيش البريطاني بين عامي 2003 و2009 جنوبي العراق. وذكرت ان عائلة العراقي بهاء موسى الذي توفي في الحجز البريطاني عام 2003 حصلت على تعويض مقداره 2.83 مليون جنيه إسترليني تشاركته مع تسعة محتجزين آخرين، والتي اظهر التحقيق في وفاته أدلة تؤكد أساءة معاملة المعتقلين بشكل غير قانوني . وأشارت الصحيفة الى ان وزارة الدفاع اعترفت عام 2008 بحدوث عمليات اعتداء غير قانونية على عراقيين محتجزين في أحدى قواعدها في البصرة اشارة منها لمعسكر "بريد باسكت". وقال محامي بعض المعتقلين العراقيين انه حصلت زيادة في عدد القضايا المقدمة لمكتب المحاماة الذي يقوم بتمثيل نحو 100 عراقي ممن رفعوا دعاوى ضد وزارة الدفاع بتهم إساءة الجيش البريطاني لمعاملتهم خلال الاحتجاز،مشيرين الى ان عدد القضايا والحالات المقدمة سترتفع بلا شك، ونقلت عن أعضاء شركة بريطانية أخرى للمحاماة، تقوم بتمثيل 65 شخصاً قولهم " ان الدعاوى المماثلة ستشهد ارتفاعاً كبيراً". وأوضحت الصحيفة انه تم الكشف عن الانتهاكات سيئة السمعة التي تعرض اليها المعتقلون العراقيون في معسكر "بريد باسكت" في البصرة والتي بينت عبر شهادات المعتقلين انهم تعرضوا للاعتداء الجنسي من قبل الجنود وأدت الى تعرضهم للنبذ من قبل المجتمع بعد الافراج عنهم . ونقلت التايمز عن احد العراقيين الذي اعتقل في المعسكر المذكور عام 2003 والذي حصل على تعويض من وزارة الدفاع البريطانية، قوله انه تم تجريده من ملابسه الداخلية وتعرض للضرب واجبر على الجلوس في الخارج وظهره الى الجدار في الحر الشديد مدة خمس ساعات بدون ماء. وأضاف ان " المشكلة الرئيسة التي دمرت سمعتي ان الناس في منطقتي عندما سمعوا بأني اعتقلت من قبل الجيش البريطاني اعتقدوا بأني تعرضت للإساءةوالاعتداء الجنسي من قبل العاملين مع الجيش البريطاني.وأوضح المعتقل انه بعد ذكر ما تعرض اليه للسلطات البريطانية طُلب منه النظر الى ألبوم صور يحتوي على صور فوتغرافية لمعتقلين آخرين، وقال" شاهدت صور لأصدقائي يتعرضون للإساءة من قبل القوات البريطانية حيث كانوا معلقين رأساً على عقب وهم عراة ويتم الاعتداء عليهم جنسياً". ورفضت وزارة الدفاع التعليق على هذه القضية لتسويتها خارج المحكمة . وقالت الصحيفة ان معتقلا آخرا في المعسكر المذكور يبلغ من العمر " 25 عاماً" أنفجر باكياً وهو يسرد كيفية أعتداء جنديين بريطانيين عليه جنسياً وضربهم اياه وتهديده بالقتل مبيناً آثار الندوب التي غطت ذراعيه لمراسل الصحيفة. وقال " بعد ذلك بدأت حياتي التي أصبحت جحيماً مليئة بالكوارث".مبينة انه اضطر لمغادرة البصرة بعد هذه الفضيحة، وتزوج عام 2005 ورزق بابنتين، لكنه بسبب العار الذي لحقه جراء الاعتداء عليه انفصل عن زوجته، وعبرعن أمله بأن يتم مقاضاة جميع المسؤولين والمدانين بارتكاب هذه الجرائم امام الشعب العراقي. وفي آذار الماضي أعلنت وزارة الدفاع البريطانية عن إنشاء فريق للتحقيق في تعرض عراقيين الى الاساءة من قبل افراد الجيش البريطاني، وقال متحدث باسم الدفاع انه من المرجح استغرق هذا التحقيق العامين و سيتم تناول القضايا المرفوعة من قبل dir="rtl" align="right"> <p><strong>Parents of children with birth defects say Britain knew of US chemical weapons use </strong></p> <p>Allegations that Britain was complicit in the use of chemical weapons linked to an upsurge in child deformity cases in Iraq, are being investigated by the Ministry of Defence.</p> <p>The case raises serious questions about the UK’s role in the American-led offensive against the city of Fallujah in the autumn of 2004 where hundreds of Iraqis died. Doctors and residents in the city are convinced that many more children than usual are being born with deformities. So great is the concern that some doctors are apparently advising mothers living in the city not to have children. If this is indeed the case the problem could hardly be more serious. </p> <p>Something has to be done to resolve the issue. It is far from clear if there is a real increase in birth deformities or whether it is a case of more cases being recorded. An answer to this could come by comparing records for births before and after the attacks on Fallujah. For this to be an effective approach full recording of all births would be needed over an extended period. </p> <p>Another approach is that announced by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on 1 April which is to analyse the trend in birth defects in Fallujah and to compare it with other parts of Iraq. Again good records are required. The comparison may indicate there are problems elsewhere, but it may also find no disturbing trend. </p> <p>What the WHO will be assessing will be the effects of war on a civilian population, and more particularly what effect a war has on birth outcomes. The investigation is unique and very welcome. </p> <p>The details of how the investigation is to be conducted are not yet known. If the approach is just to compare trends in birth defects in different locations in Iraq it may not identify causes of these. A more detailed approach would be the logical next step. But if there is no evidence of deformities being greater than the norm why do a more searching inquiry? </p> <p>But this is jumping the gun. Fallujah has been in the headlines because of the savagery of the fighting there in 2004. US forces used white phosphorus there in November of that year. Allegations have also been made that the US used depleted uranium munitions. It is essential the US says what was used by its forces. </p> <p>I am not aware of any evidence to suggest white phosphorus or depleted uranium has been linked with birth deformities. However, a toxicologist’s reassurance will not be enough for residents in Fallujah and they deserve more. They accuse the UK Government of breaching international law, war crimes and failing to intervene to prevent a war crime.</p> <p>Lawyers for the Iraqis have sent a letter before action to the MoD asking the Government to disclose what it knows about the Army’s role in the offensive, the presence of prohibited weapons and the legal advice given to Tony Blair, Prime Minister at the time.</p> <p>Legal actions against America are blocked by US federal immunity laws and the US government’s boycott of the International Criminal Court.</p> <p>The offensive against Fallujah, codenamed Phantom Fury, in 2004 was described as the most bitter fighting experienced by American soldiers since the war in Vietnam. But US forces were assisted by British units.</p> <p>On 21 October, British soldiers were ordered by the Cabinet to help US forces throw a "ring of steel" around Fallujah. Six days later, a British battle group of 850 troops made up of the armoured infantry from the 1st Battalion, The Black Watch, an armoured reconnaissance squadron from the Queen’s Dragoon Guards, elements of 40 Commando Royal Marines and supporting specialists including Royal Engineers and Royal Military Police were redeployed from Basra. </p> <p>The battle group established a base at Camp Dogwood on the eastern approach to Fallujah where they provided essential aid and assistance to the subsequent attacks on the city.</p> <p>Before the attack the former Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith is alleged to have warned Mr Blair about the legal dangers of committing British forces to the attack. </p> <p>Public Interest Lawyers, the law firm representing the Iraqi families, wants the Government to release this advice in full and say whether any British soldiers were involved in the fighting or supplied or helped fire prohibited weapons. During the attack coalition forces are alleged to have used weapons including white phosphorus, a modern form of napalm, and depleted uranium.</p> <p>The World Health Organisation has begun investigating evidence of a worrying rise in the incidence of birth defects in the city, which Iraqi doctors attribute to the use of chemical weapons during the battle. </p> <p>Malak Hamdan, a British Iraqi researcher working with doctors in Fallujah, told The Independent: "Doctors in Fallujah are witnessing unprecedented numbers of birth defects, miscarriages and cancer cases. Now, according to gynaecologists, paediatricians and neurologists in Fallujah, the numbers of these cases have been increasing rapidly since 2005." </p> <p>She explained that the most common birth defects involve the heart and the nervous system but there have also been reported cases of babies being born with two heads, upper and lower limb defects and eye abnormalities.</p> <p>"What is more disturbing is that pregnant women are completely unaware that they are carrying an abnormal child until the day they give birth – traumatising the mother and the rest of the family," said Ms Malak. </p> <p>Mazin Younis, a UK-based Iraqi human rights activist who visited the city before the attack, said: "When I visited Fallujah a few weeks before the attack, I was shocked to see the majority of people had not left the city. Many of them had no one to go to…. We attacked this city ruthlessly without any concern for the fate of tens of thousands of civilians who were still living there. The unlawful use of white phosphorus in built-up areas was… never objected to by the British Government who assisted in the attack on Fallujah."</p> <p>Phil Shiner, the UK lawyer leading the legal challenge, said: "The rate and severity of both foetal abnormalities and inexplicable illnesses such as leukaemia or those suffered by our clients in infants born to mothers in Fallujah has been the subject of numerous reports and letters to governments…. The full extent of the emerging public health crisis is unknown…. Doctors report a "massive, unprecedented number" of congenital health problems. The BBC investigation found that the incidence of birth defects in Fallujah has reached a rate 13 times higher than in Europe."</p> <p>An MoD spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that we are in receipt of this letter from Public Interest Lawyers and will respond in due course. <p>The official line is that Falluja, which lies 40 miles west of Baghdad, has only two or three cases of birth defects a year more than normal.  </p> <p>Controversial weaponry was used during the bombing, including white phosphorus. </p> <p>Last year a group of Iraqi and British officials called on the UN to ask that an independent committee fully investigate the defects and help clean up toxic materials left over after decades of war.</p> <p>‘We are seeing a very significant increase in central nervous system anomalies,’ Falluja general hospital’s director and senior specialist, Dr Ayman Qais told the Guardian.</p> <p>‘Before 2003 [the start of the war] I was seeing sporadic numbers of deformities in babies. Now the frequency of deformities has increased dramatically.’</p> <p>‘Most are in the head and spinal cord, but there are also many deficiencies in lower limbs,’ he said. </p> <p>‘There is also a very marked increase in the number of cases of less than two years [old] with brain tumours. Thousands of infants are being born with deformities. Doctors say they are struggling to cope with the rise of cancer and birth defects, especially in cities subjected to heavy American and British bombardment, notes Jalal Ghazi.</strong> </p> <p>Forget about oil, occupation, terrorism or even Al Qaeda. The real hazard for Iraqis these days is cancer. Cancer is spreading like wildfire in Iraq. Thousands of infants are being born with deformities. Doctors say they are struggling to cope with the rise of cancer and birth defects, especially in cities subjected to heavy American and British bombardment. </p> <p>Here are a few examples. In Falluja, which was heavily bombarded by the US in 2004, as many as 25% of new- born infants have serious abnormalities, including congenital anomalies, brain tumors, and neural tube defects in the spinal cord. </p> <p>The cancer rate in the province of Babil, south of Baghdad has risen from 500 diagnosed cases in 2004 to 9,082 in 2009 according to Al Jazeera English. </p> <p>In Basra there were 1885 diagnosed cases of cancer in 2005. According to Dr. Jawad al Ali, director of the Oncology Center, the number increased to 2,302 in 2006 and 3,071 in 2007. Dr. Ali told Al Jazeera English that about 1,250-1,500 patients visit the Oncology Center every month now. </p> <p>Not everyone is ready to draw a direct correlation between allied bombing of these areas and tumors, and the Pentagon has been skeptical of any attempts to link the two. But Iraqi doctors and some Western scholars say the massive quantities of depleted uranium used in US and British bombs, and the sharp increase in cancer rates are not unconnected. </p> <p>Dr Ahmad Hardan, who served as a special scientific adviser to the World Health Organization, the United Nations and the Iraqi Ministry of Health, says that there is scientific evidence linking depleted uranium to cancer and birth defects. He told Al Jazeera English, "Children with congenital anomalies are subjected to karyotyping and chromosomal studies with complete genetic back-grounding and clinical assessment. Family and obstetrical histories are taken too. These international studies have produced ample evidence to show that depleted uranium has disastrous consequences." </p> <p>Iraqi doctors say cancer cases increased after both the 1991 war and the 2003 invasion. </p> <p>Abdulhaq Al-Ani, author of “Uranium in Iraq” told Al Jazeera English that the incubation period for depleted uranium is five to six years, which is consistent with the spike in cancer rates in 1996-1997 and 2008-2009. </p> <p>There are also similar patterns of birth defects among Iraqi and Afghan infants who were also born in areas that were subjected to depleted uranium bombardment. </p> <p>Dr. Daud Miraki, director of the Afghan Depleted Uranium and Recovery Fund, told Al Jazeera English he found evidence of the effect of depleted uranium in infants in eastern and south- eastern Afghanistan. “Many children are born with no eyes, no limbs, or tumors protruding from their mouths and eyes,” said Dr. Miraki. </p> <p>It’s not just Iraqis and Afghans. Babies born to American soldiers deployed in Iraq during the 1991 war are also showing similar defects. In 2000, Iraqi biologist Huda saleh Mahadi pointed out that the hands of deformed American infants were directly linked to their shoulders, a deformity seen in Iraqi infants. </p> <p>Many US soldiers are now referring to Gulf War Syndrome #2 and alleging they have developed cancer because of exposure to depleted uranium in Iraq. </p> <p>But soldiers can end their exposure to depleted uranium when their service in Iraq ends. Iraqi civilians have nowhere else to go. The water, soil and air in large areas of Iraq, including Baghdad, are contaminated with depleted uranium that has a radioactive half-life of 4.5 billion years. </p> <p>Dr. Doug Rokke, former director of the US Army’s Depleted Uranium Project during the first Gulf War, was in charge of a project of decontaminating American tanks. He told Al Jazeera English that “it took the US Department of Defense in a multi-million dollar facility with trained physicists and engineers, three years to decontaminate the 24 tanks that I sent back to the US” </p> <p>And he added, “What can the average Iraqi do with thousands and thousands of trash and destroyed vehicles spread across the desert and other areas?” </p> <p>According to Al Jazeera, the Pentagon used more than 300 tons of depleted uranium in 1991. align="right"> <p>أولى المدن العراقية في تركيز ملوثات الحروب القاتلة تليها البصرة <br/>بغداد: هدى جاسم <br/>حذر باحثون عراقيون من أن اهالي قضاء الفلوجة، اكثر سكان العراق مرشحون لاصابتهم بأمراض سرطانية خلال الاعوام القليلة القادمة، نتيجة تحول الفلوجة لساحة حرب خلال السنوات التي اعقبت غزو العراق عام 2003. <br/>وافاد الباحث والصحافي البيئي عمر المنصوري لـ «الشرق الاوسط» بوجود تلوث اشعاعي في التربة والنباتات بتركيزات متباينة وعالية من نظيري الثوريوم والراديوم والبزموث، الامر الذي ساعد على انتشار امراض بعض حالاتها تظهر لاول مرة في العراق، منها التشوهات الخلقية والاجهاض والامراض السرطانية وبالأخص سرطانات الدم والثدي والغدد اللمفاوية. ونوه الى ان حالات الاصابة ستشهد ارتفاعا كبيرا خلال السنوات المقبلة نتيجة الاهمال الصحي الواضح من قبل الدوائر والمستشفيات الصحية التي لم تتخذ اي خطوات عاجلة. <br/>وعمليا، ليس من الممكن معالجة الاشخاص الذين تعرضوا للتسمم بالفسفور الابيض، لكن من الممكن وضع حلول سريعة لايقاف الملوثات في التربة والانهر. <br/>واوضح المنصوري، الاكاديمي في مجال الاعلام البيئي ان «انتشار الغازات السامة سبب تلوثا كبيرا للانهر التي تعد المصدر الرئيس لسقي المزروعات ومياه الشرب للانسان في الفلوجة، ما شجع على تسرب مختلف المواد السامة الى اجساد اغلب سكان الفلوجة، لذا فمن المتوقع خلال فترة اقل من عشر سنوات مقبلة اصابة عدد كبير من السكان بأمراض سرطانية نتيجة استنشاقهم للهواء الملوث بالسموم الحربية او المياه او حتى المحاصيل الزراعية التي يتم سقيها بمياه نهر الفرات الملوثة بالاصل». <br/>واكد المنصوري في بحثه الذي سيبثه عبر موقعه الالكتروني انه خلال ايام :«في حرب الفلوجة 2004 استخدمت بشكل خاص غازات الخردل والاعصاب والفسفور الابيض بهدف القضاء على المسلحين، لذلك تعد الفلوجة حاليا مدينة ملوثة يجب ان تجري فيها عمليات مسح شاملة تشترك فيها جميع الوزارات الحكومية المعنية، اضافة الى عمليات فحص دقيقة للحالات المصابة ونشر «التوعية البيئية للناس عن طريق وسائل الاعلام والدوائر المعنية». وقال المنصوري: «ظهرت بالفعل بعد اقل من خمس سنوات على حرب الفلوجة تأثيراتها الكارثية فقد ارتفعت حالات التشوهات الخلقية لدى الاطفال والاجهاض عند النساء بالاضافة لارتفاع حالات التغيرات الوراثية وظهور ولادات الاطفال المصابين بمتلازمة «داون» (المنغوليين)، اذ شهدت مستشفى الفلوجة العام ولادات عديدة لتلك الحالات». واضاف «ان الطائرات المقاتلة والدبابات الاميركية القت مئات الاطنان من القنابل على الفلوجة وكان بعضها مغلفا بمواد اشعاعية لزيادة الكفاءة التدميرية حيث انتشرت غازات تلك القنابل السامة ووصلت للتربة الزراعية ولمياه نهر الفرات بالاضافة لتلوث الهواء بشكل كبير بخاصة ان ضواحي الفلوجة تعد مناطق صحراوية مفتوحة تشجع لانتشار تلك الغازات عن طريق الرياح لمناطق ابعد وذلك سبب اتساع رقعة الاصابة بالمواد السرطانية بين الاهالي». <br/>وحول البحث الذي قام به وطريقة استنتاجه للنتائج، قال المنصوري: «لقد جاء الاستنتاج عبر دراسة ميدانية لاوضاع الاطفال حديثي الولادة، فقد بدأت بجمع المعلومات العلمية وصور لاطفال حديثي الولادة من الذين تعرضوا للتشويه الخلقي جراء الحرب، وكان ذلك بعد عام 2005، حيث كان معدل الولادت المشوهة بمدينة الفلوجة قرابة حالة واحدة في الاسبوع»، مؤكدا ان وصوله للمعلومات كان يلاقي صعوبات كثيرة ومعارضة من قبل الكادر الصحي للمستشفيات بمدينة الفلوجة، ومع ذلك استطاع ان يتبين ان نسبة التشوهات الخلقية للاطفال حديثي الولادة والامراض السرطانية التي تصيب النساء الحوامل تزداد يوما بعد آخر خاصة في مدينة الفلوجة. وحول المدن الاخرى التي يمكن ان تكون نسبة السرطانات فيها واسعة الانتشار اوضح المنصوري ان «مدينة الفلوجة سوف تتصدر مدن العراق تليها البصرة بنسبة الامراض السرطانية بالرغم ان اغلب مدن العراق تعرضت للمعارك واستخدام اسلحة اليورانيوم المنضب والفسفور الابيض. وكذلك فإن ارتفاع نسبة الملوثات بدون وضع الحلول اللازمة من قبل الدوائر الحكومية المعنية في بعض مدن العراق مثل العاصمة بغداد وديالى ونينوى سيجعلها مرشحة ايضا للاصابة بأمراض سرطانية تهدد حياة المواطن العراقي». told IslamOnline.net.</p> <p>Wassim is one of the victims of the massive bombing of Fallujah in 2004, when the US army admittedly used depleted uranium munitions, which contain low-level radioactive waste.</p> <p>Doctors told Wassim the restricted weapon sowed her body with lethal material that caused her children’s birth defects and the subsequent deaths.</p> <p>"If I knew my body was sick, I wouldn’t have tried to bring a new life to the world."</p> <p>Experts affirm that many like Wassim, especially in areas severely-hit by radioactive material over the years, suffer the same pain.</p> <p>"US troops attacks have been carried out with high quantity of chemicals that makes the genetic material easily affected, resulting in babies being born only to survive for a few hours," Dr. A’dab Hatim, a pediatrician at a Baghdad hospital, told IOL.</p> <p>"The most common malformations are exposed spinal cord, lack of limbs, multiple fingers, eye deformities, large cerebral material and exposed organs," she added.</p> <p>After denying it at first, the Pentagon admitted in November 2005 that white phosphorous, a restricted incendiary weapon, was used in shelling Fallujah.</p> <p>It also admitted to having used more than 1,200 tons of depleted uranium munitions in Iraq during the 2003 invasion.</p> <p> <a للولايات المتحدة أن تطلقه على العراق منذ احتلاله عام 2003-  نساء كثر مثل الأم ليلى عمر.. تتفطر قلوبهن وهن يرون أطفالهن يولدون مشوهين.. كعلامات وشواهد على ملامح "العراق الجديد" في أجسادهم الضئيلة.</p> <p>وقالت الأم التي تبلغ من العمر 36 عاما لـ"إسلام أون لاين.نت": "طفلي الأول مات بعد ولادته بدون رجلين، ومات الثاني منذ أيام قليلة بعد أن انفجر نخاح عموده الشوكي وكانت رأسه كبيرة جدا". </p> <p>وليلى عمر واحدة من ضحايا القصف الأمريكي العنيف لمدينة الفلوجة في عام 2004، والذي استخدمت فيه قوات الاحتلال قذائف اليورانيوم المخصب.</p> <p>وأبلغ الأطباء ليلى بعد أن فقدت طفليها بأن الأسلحة المحظورة اخترقت جسدها بمادة قاتلة تحول دون ولادة أطفال طبيعيين.</p> <p>وعقبت ليلى على هذه المعلومة المتأخرة: "لو أنني أعلم أن جسدي مريض ما حاولت إحضار أطفال جدد إلى العالم".</p> </p></div> <div dir="rtl" align="right"> <p>ويؤكد الخبراء أن هناك كثيرين مثل ليلى يعانون نفس الألم، خاصة في المناطق التي قصفت بالمواد الإشعاعية خلال الأعوام الماضية.</p> <p>وقال الدكتورة أهداب هاتم أخصائية طب الأطفال في مستشفى بغداد لـ"إسلام أون لاين.نت": "إن القوات الأمريكية استخدمت الأسلحة الكيماوية في هجماتها بشكل واسع.. وهي تحتوي على مواد تؤثر بسهولة وبشكل خطير على الجينات، وتتسبب في ولادة أطفال مشوهين، إضافة إلى أنهم سيكونون عرضة للوفاة السريعة باحتمالات كبيرة".</p> <p>وأوضحت أن "معظم الأطفال المشوهين يحدث لهم انفجار في النخاع الشوكي، ويعانون ضعفا في الأطراف، وتشوهات في العين، وكبر حجم الدماغ.. وبعضهم يولد بلا أطراف أو بعدد أكبر من الأصابع".</p> </p></div> <p> <a
