DAC&nbsp;showcase changing exhibitions on the most creative and talked-about Danish studios, including BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and Olafur Eliasson; works from historic masterminds such as Arne Jacobsen; and new trends in housing and daily life. Current exhibitions (dac.dk):&nbsp; Water is Coming,&nbsp;October 7, 2024 &ndash; March 23, 2025 In a sensuous and poetic exhibition universe, the exhibition&nbsp;Water is Coming&nbsp;explores the relationship between water, people and nature in a rapidly changing world where, despite the seemingly bleak outlook, there is also hope and opportunity. Water is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Rising sea levels and more frequent cloudbursts demand radical change in urban design and organization. Cities like Copenhagen, Venice and Jakarta are already dealing with the inevitable question: How can we adapt to the water instead of fighting it? In the&nbsp;Water is Coming&nbsp;exhibition, DAC is seeking to create a deeper understanding of our dependence on water and the challenges it poses to our cities. The exhibition also presents different solutions for how we can live with water in the future. In the exhibition, we focus on a future with rising water levels from all directions. Dive into current knowledge, bold visions, completed projects, extensive research, and historical perspectives. Be inspired by how citizens are adapting to a new daily life with water, and how scientists, architects, urban planners, municipalities, and organizations are working together to create solutions for our shared future with water. Whether they are unfolded on a stage, on paper, on a screen or among us in daily life, humour and satire occupy a central place in the danish self-understanding. Humour&nbsp;can be a quiet chuckle at seeing one&rsquo;s own fallibility reflected and caricatured on a stage or in a cartoon, or it can dent the image of the powers that be.&nbsp;Humour can puncture pomposity and be a vent that makes the difficult easier to deal with.&nbsp;Humour and satire&nbsp;can get us to laugh together and question rigidly established norms and ideas.&nbsp; Special Exhibitions (frederiksbergmuseerne.dk): The censored exhibition on censorship, 18.11.23-20.04.25 Satire is one of the most censored art forms. Throughout centuries, churches and states have criminalized and condemned satire, and even today, various actors attempt to stifle satire. This could be terrorists threatening satirists or social media platforms that exclude them. It is often said that censorship makes satire less daring and lively, as many are likely to hold back if they risk losing their job, freedom or even their life. However,&nbsp; The Censored Exhibition on Censorship&nbsp;shows that censorship has not only intimidated but also inspired satirists. It has led them to invent new symbols and new ways to circumvent and ridicule censorship. The exhibition showcases works that have come into existence solely because there have been &ndash; and still are &ndash; actors trying to silence satirists. It provides a rare insight into how satirists have viewed censorship as a creative challenge rather than a straitjacket since the beginning of the 19th century. </div> </div> <!--<span class="attractions__favourite-heart" data-location-id=596></span>--> </div> </div> <div class="carousel-item" > <div class="attractions__entry attractions__entry__carousel"> <div class="views-field views-field-field-images"> <div class="field-content position-relative"> <a href="/attractions/bakkehuset"> <img loading="lazy" src="https://api.copenhagen.citycardsolutions.com/storage/location_pictures/1679320679402_HBVXLM7M6UAJ5USJ.jpeg" alt="" typeof="foaf:Image"> <div class="views-field views-image-caption position-absolute w-100" style="bottom:36px;z-index: 1000"> <h6 class="text-right views-image-caption mr-2">Photo: Bakkehuset</h6> </div> </a> </div> </div> <div class="views-field views-field-title"> <span class="field-content"><a href="/attractions/526">Bakkehuset</a></span> </div> <div class="views-field views-field-body"> <div class="field-content"> Step into the Danish Golden Age Bakkehuset was an essential meeting place in the Danish Golden Age, hosted by Kamma and Knud Lyne Rahbek and frequently visited by Hans Christian Andersen, Oehlenschl&auml;ger, H.C. &Oslash;rsted and other poets, scientists and opinion formers of the romantic period. Special Exhibitions (nordatlantens.dk): &nbsp; Art and music from 1/3 to 24/8: Music has tones, and visual art has colour tones. We use the term &lsquo;compose&rsquo; about paintings and pieces of music alike. A &lsquo;suite&rsquo; can be a series of artworks or a set of musical pieces composed around the same theme. Language itself has many overlaps between visual art and music. This exhibition explores various dialogues and exchanges between visual art and music. Art and Music is an adapted version of the exhibition T&oacute;nar &iacute; list, curated by and shown at Listasavn F&oslash;roya (The National Gallery of the Faroe Islands) in 2023&ndash;24. The exhibition focuses particularly on the interplay between visual art and music within the Faroese cultural scene. Music is, and has long been, a source of inspiration for countless artists and their production of works. Similarly, numerous musical pieces have been inspired by visual art. Visual art has also played a central role in the creation of album covers and music videos. The exhibition presents works of visual art that engage in direct and indirect dialogues with music. It also showcases works by practitioners who are both musicians and visual artists, as well as works where the distinction between the two art forms becomes impossible to uphold.
