environmental consciousness on financial performance through the partial mediator - green intellectual capital. A questionnaire survey on the environmental consciousness, intellectual capital, and financial performance of Iran’s manufacturing firms was conducted, and 324 samples were analyzed. This study utilizes structural equation modeling to explore the direct and indirect influences of EC on financial performance. Research results reveal that environmental consciousness had an indirect impact on financial performance through investment in green intellectual capital. It was thus known that green intellectual capital is a mediator of the relationship between environmental consciousness and financial performance. This paper may serve as a reference for firms mapping out future environmental policies and provide an input of various perspectives and arguments into the discipline of green management. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environmental%20consciousness" title="environmental consciousness">environmental consciousness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20responsibility" title=" social responsibility"> social responsibility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=green%20intellectual%20capital" title=" green intellectual capital"> green intellectual capital</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=financial%20performance" title=" financial performance"> financial performance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41943/the-effect-of-environmental-consciousness-on-firm-performance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41943.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">488</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">291</span> Offering a Model for Selecting the Most Suitable Type of Thinking for Managers</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20Emari">H. No special applied frame has been presented for this thinking. This paper presents a theoretical framework for the thinking type of a manager by making a historical research and studying the scientific documents about thinking of a strategist. In the new theoretical framework it has been tried to suggest the best type of thinking for a strategist after analyzing the environment of his decisions. So, in this framework, the traditional viewpoint about strategic thinking, which has considered it as a special type of right-brain thinking against other types of right-brain thinking and suggested it for a strategist, was put aside and suggests that the strategist should use a suitable type of thinking under different conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=strategic%20thinking" title="strategic thinking">strategic thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systemic%20thinking" title=" systemic thinking"> systemic thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lateral%20thinking" title=" lateral thinking"> lateral thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intuitive%20thinking" title=" intuitive thinking"> intuitive thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20thinking" title=" hybrid thinking"> hybrid thinking</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11512/offering-a-model-for-selecting-the-most-suitable-type-of-thinking-for-managers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11512.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">331</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">290</span> The Mediating Role of Bank Image in Customer Satisfaction Building</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20Emari">H. For this purpose, the study empirically examined the European perspective suggesting that service quality consists of three dimensions, technical, functional and image. This research is an applied research and its strategy is casual strategy. A standard questionnaire was used for collecting the data. 287 customers of Melli Bank of Northwest were selected through cluster sampling and were studied. The results from a banking service sample revealed that the overall service quality is influenced more by a consumer’s perception of technical quality than functional quality. Accordingly, the Gronroos model is a more appropriate representation of service quality than the American perspective with its limited concentration on the dimension of functional quality in the banking industry of Iran. So, knowing the key dimensions of the quality of services in this industry and planning for their improvement can increase the satisfaction of customers and productivity of this industry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=technical%20quality" title="technical quality">technical quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=functional%20quality" title=" functional quality"> functional quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=banking" title=" banking"> banking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image" title=" image"> image</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mediating%20role" title=" mediating role"> mediating role</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30318/the-mediating-role-of-bank-image-in-customer-satisfaction-building" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30318.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">369</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">289</span> A Model Predictive Control Based Virtual Active Power Filter Using V2G Technology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahdi%20Zolfaghari">Mahdi Zolfaghari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Hossein%20Hosseinian"> Seyed Hossein Hosseinian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Askarian%20Abyaneh"> Hossein Askarian Abyaneh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehrdad%20Abedi"> Mehrdad Abedi </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents a virtual active power filter (VAPF) using vehicle to grid (V2G) technology to maintain power quality requirements. The optimal discrete operation of the power converter of electric vehicle (EV) is based on recognizing desired switching states using the model predictive control (MPC) algorithm. A fast dynamic response, lower total harmonic distortion (THD) and good reference tracking performance are realized through the presented control strategy. The simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink validate the effectiveness of the scheme in improving power quality as well as good dynamic response in power transferring capability. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electric%20vehicle" title="electric vehicle">electric vehicle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=model%20predictive%20control" title=" model predictive control"> model predictive control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20quality" title=" power quality"> power quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V2G%20technology" title=" V2G technology"> V2G technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20active%20power%20filter" title=" virtual active power filter"> virtual active power filter</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70930/a-model-predictive-control-based-virtual-active-power-filter-using-v2g-technology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70930.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">430</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">288</span> Time Series Modelling and Prediction of River Runoff: Case Study of Karkheh River, Iran</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karim%20Hamidi%20Machekposhti">Karim Hamidi Machekposhti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Sedghi"> Hossein Sedghi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdolrasoul%20Telvari"> Abdolrasoul Telvari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Babazadeh"> Hossein Babazadeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Rainfall and runoff phenomenon is a chaotic and complex outcome of nature which requires sophisticated modelling and simulation methods for explanation and use. Time Series modelling allows runoff data analysis and can be used as forecasting tool. In the paper attempt is made to model river runoff data and predict the future behavioural pattern of river based on annual past observations of annual river runoff. The river runoff analysis and predict are done using ARIMA model. For evaluating the efficiency of prediction to hydrological events such as rainfall, runoff and etc., we use the statistical formulae applicable. The good agreement between predicted and observation river runoff coefficient of determination (R2) display that the ARIMA (4,1,1) is the suitable model for predicting Karkheh River runoff at Iran. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=time%20series%20modelling" title="time series modelling">time series modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ARIMA%20model" title=" ARIMA model"> ARIMA model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=river%20runoff" title=" river runoff"> river runoff</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karkheh%20River" title=" Karkheh River"> Karkheh River</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CLS%20method" title=" CLS method"> CLS method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76659/time-series-modelling-and-prediction-of-river-runoff-case-study-of-karkheh-river-iran" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76659.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">341</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">287</span> Automatic Facial Skin Segmentation Using Possibilistic C-Means Algorithm for Evaluation of Facial Surgeries</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elham%20Alaee">Elham Alaee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mousa%20Shamsi"> Mousa Shamsi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Ahmadi"> Hossein Ahmadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soroosh%20Nazem"> Soroosh Nazem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Hossein%20Sedaaghi"> Mohammad Hossein Sedaaghi </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Human face has a fundamental role in the appearance of individuals. So the importance of facial surgeries is undeniable. Thus, there is a need for the appropriate and accurate facial skin segmentation in order to extract different features. Since Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm doesn’t work appropriately for noisy images and outliers, in this paper we exploit Possibilistic C-Means (PCM) algorithm in order to segment the facial skin. For this purpose, first, we convert facial images from RGB to YCbCr color space. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, the database of Sahand University of Technology, Tabriz, Iran was used. In order to have a better understanding from the proposed algorithm; FCM and Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithms are also used for facial skin segmentation. The proposed method shows better results than the other segmentation methods. Results include misclassification error (0.032) and the region’s area error (0.045) for the proposed algorithm. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=facial%20image" title="facial image">facial image</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=segmentation" title=" segmentation"> segmentation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PCM" title=" PCM"> PCM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FCM" title=" FCM"> FCM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=skin%20error" title=" skin error"> skin error</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=facial%20surgery" title=" facial surgery"> facial surgery</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10297/automatic-facial-skin-segmentation-using-possibilistic-c-means-algorithm-for-evaluation-of-facial-surgeries" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/10297.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">586</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">286</span> Finding the Elastic Field in an Arbitrary Anisotropic Media by Implementing Accurate Generalized Gaussian Quadrature Solution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Kabir">Hossein Kabir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amir%20Hossein%20Hassanpour%20Mati-Kolaie"> Amir Hossein Hassanpour Mati-Kolaie</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the current study, the elastic field in an anisotropic elastic media is determined by implementing a general semi-analytical method. In this specific methodology, the displacement field is computed as a sum of finite functions with unknown coefficients. These aforementioned functions satisfy exactly both the homogeneous and inhomogeneous boundary conditions in the proposed media. It is worth mentioning that the unknown coefficients are determined by implementing the principle of minimum potential energy. The numerical integration is implemented by employing the Generalized Gaussian Quadrature solution. Furthermore, with the aid of the calculated unknown coefficients, the displacement field, as well as the other parameters of the elastic field, are obtainable as well. Finally, the comparison of the previous analytical method with the current semi-analytical method proposes the efficacy of the present methodology. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anisotropic%20elastic%20media" title="anisotropic elastic media">anisotropic elastic media</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=semi-analytical%20method" title=" semi-analytical method"> semi-analytical method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elastic%20field" title=" elastic field"> elastic field</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=generalized%20gaussian%20quadrature%20solution" title=" generalized gaussian quadrature solution"> generalized gaussian quadrature solution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74780/finding-the-elastic-field-in-an-arbitrary-anisotropic-media-by-implementing-accurate-generalized-gaussian-quadrature-solution" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74780.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">321</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">285</span> Detection of Leishmania Mixed Infection from Phlebotomus papatasi in Central Iran</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nassibeh%20Hosseini-Vasoukolaei">Nassibeh Hosseini-Vasoukolaei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amir%20Ahmad%20Akhavan"> Amir Ahmad Akhavan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahmood%20Jeddi-Tehrani"> Mahmood Jeddi-Tehrani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Khamesipour"> Ali Khamesipour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Reza%20Yaghoobi%20Ershadi"> Mohammad Reza Yaghoobi Ershadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kamhawi%20Shaden"> Kamhawi Shaden</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Valenzuela%20Jesus"> Valenzuela Jesus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Mirhendi"> Hossein Mirhendi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Hossein%20Arandian"> Mohammad Hossein Arandian</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis (ZCL) is an endemic disease in many rural areas of Iran. Our results demonstrate the natural infection of P. papatasi sand fly with three species of L. major, L. turanica and L. gerbili which are circulating among R. opimusreservoir host and P. papatasi sand fly vector in central Iran. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Phlebotomus%20papatasi" title="Phlebotomus papatasi">Phlebotomus papatasi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leishmania%20major" title=" Leishmania major"> Leishmania major</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leishmania%20turanica" title=" Leishmania turanica"> Leishmania turanica</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leishmania%20gerbili" title=" Leishmania gerbili"> Leishmania gerbili</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mixed%20infection" title=" mixed infection"> mixed infection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iran" title=" Iran"> Iran</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41586/detection-of-leishmania-mixed-infection-from-phlebotomus-papatasi-in-central-iran" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41586.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">471</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">284</span> An Intelligent Traffic Management System Based on the WiFi and Bluetooth Sensing</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hamed%20Hossein%20Afshari">Hamed Hossein Afshari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shahrzad%20Jalali"> Shahrzad Jalali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amir%20Hossein%20Ghods"> Amir Hossein Ghods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bijan%20Raahemi"> Bijan Raahemi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper introduces an automated clustering solution that applies to WiFi/Bluetooth sensing data and is later used for traffic management applications. The paper initially summarizes a number of clustering approaches and thereafter shows their performance for noise removal. In this context, clustering is used to recognize WiFi and Bluetooth MAC addresses that belong to passengers traveling by a public urban transit bus. The main objective is to build an intelligent system that automatically filters out MAC addresses that belong to persons located outside the bus for different routes in the city of Ottawa. The proposed intelligent system alleviates the need for defining restrictive thresholds that however reduces the accuracy as well as the range of applicability of the solution for different routes. This paper moreover discusses the performance benefits of the presented clustering approaches in terms of the accuracy, time and space complexity, and the ease of use. Note that results of clustering can further be used for the purpose of the origin-destination estimation of individual passengers, predicting the traffic load, and intelligent management of urban bus schedules. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=WiFi-Bluetooth%20sensing" title="WiFi-Bluetooth sensing">WiFi-Bluetooth sensing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cluster%20analysis" title=" cluster analysis"> cluster analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20intelligence" title=" artificial intelligence"> artificial intelligence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=traffic%20management" title=" traffic management"> traffic management</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93601/an-intelligent-traffic-management-system-based-on-the-wifi-and-bluetooth-sensing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93601.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">241</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">283</span> A Mixed Expert Evaluation System and Dynamic Interval-Valued Hesitant Fuzzy Selection Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Gitinavard">Hossein Gitinavard</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Hossein%20Fazel%20Zarandi"> Mohammad Hossein Fazel Zarandi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the last decades, concerns about the environmental issues lead to professional and academic efforts on green supplier selection problems. In this sake, one of the main issues in evaluating the green supplier selection problems, which could increase the uncertainty, is the preferences of the experts' judgments about the candidate green suppliers. Therefore, preparing an expert system to evaluate the problem based on the historical data and the experts' knowledge can be sensible. This study provides an expert evaluation system to assess the candidate green suppliers under selected criteria in a multi-period approach. In addition, a ranking approach under interval-valued hesitant fuzzy set (IVHFS) environment is proposed to select the most appropriate green supplier in planning horizon. In the proposed ranking approach, the IVHFS and the last aggregation approach are considered to margin the errors and to prevent data loss, respectively. Hence, a comparative analysis is provided based on an illustrative example to show the feasibility of the proposed approach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=green%20supplier%20selection" title="green supplier selection">green supplier selection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expert%20system" title=" expert system"> expert system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ranking%20approach" title=" ranking approach"> ranking approach</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interval-valued%20hesitant%20fuzzy%20setting" title=" interval-valued hesitant fuzzy setting"> interval-valued hesitant fuzzy setting</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49652/a-mixed-expert-evaluation-system-and-dynamic-interval-valued-hesitant-fuzzy-selection-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49652.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">328</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">282</span> Flood Predicting in Karkheh River Basin Using Stochastic ARIMA Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karim%20Hamidi%20Machekposhti">Karim Hamidi Machekposhti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Sedghi"> Hossein Sedghi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdolrasoul%20Telvari"> Abdolrasoul Telvari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Babazadeh"> Hossein Babazadeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Floods have huge environmental and economic impact. Therefore, flood prediction is given a lot of attention due to its importance. This study analysed the annual maximum streamflow (discharge) (AMS or AMD) of Karkheh River in Karkheh River Basin for flood predicting using ARIMA model. For this purpose, we use the Box-Jenkins approach, which contains four-stage method model identification, parameter estimation, diagnostic checking and forecasting (predicting). The main tool used in ARIMA modelling was the SAS and SPSS software. Model identification was done by visual inspection on the ACF and PACF. SAS software computed the model parameters using the ML, CLS and ULS methods. The diagnostic checking tests, AIC criterion, RACF graph and RPACF graphs, were used for selected model verification. In this study, the best ARIMA models for Annual Maximum Discharge (AMD) time series was (4,1,1) with their AIC value of 88.87. The RACF and RPACF showed residuals’ independence. To forecast AMD for 10 future years, this model showed the ability of the model to predict floods of the river under study in the Karkheh River Basin. Model accuracy was checked by comparing the predicted and observation series by using coefficient of determination (R2). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=time%20series%20modelling" title="time series modelling">time series modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stochastic%20processes" title=" stochastic processes"> stochastic processes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ARIMA%20model" title=" ARIMA model"> ARIMA model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karkheh%20river" title=" Karkheh river"> Karkheh river</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76660/flood-predicting-in-karkheh-river-basin-using-stochastic-arima-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76660.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">287</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">281</span> Foundation Retrofitting of Storage Tank under Seismic Load</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Abolhasan%20Naeini">Seyed Abolhasan Naeini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Hossein%20Zade"> Mohammad Hossein Zade</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=E.%20Izadi"> E. Uplifting and excessive settlement due to liquid sloshing are the most frequent damages in cylindrical liquid tanks after shell bucking failure modes. As a matter of fact, uses of liquid storage tanks because of the simple construction on compact layer of soil as a foundation are very conventional, but in some cases need to retrofit are essential. The tank seismic behavior can be improved by modifying dynamic characteristic of tank with verifying seismic loads as well as retrofitting and improving base ground. This paper focuses on a typical steel tank on loose, medium and stiff sandy soil and describes an evaluation of displacement of the tank before and after retrofitting. The Abaqus program was selected for its ability to include shell and structural steel elements, soil-structure interaction, and geometrical nonlinearities and contact type elements. The result shows considerable decreasing in settlement and uplifting in the case of retrofitted tank. Also, by increasing shear strength parameter of soil, the performance of the liquid storage tank under the case of seismic load increased. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=steel%20tank" title="steel tank">steel tank</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soil-structure" title=" soil-structure"> soil-structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sandy%20soil" title=" sandy soil"> sandy soil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20load" title=" seismic load"> seismic load</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48342/foundation-retrofitting-of-storage-tank-under-seismic-load" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48342.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">420</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">280</span> A Study on Explicitation Strategies Employed in Persian Subtitling of English Crime Movies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Heidari%20Tabrizi">Hossein Heidari Tabrizi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azizeh%20Chalak"> Azizeh Chalak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Enayat"> Hossein Enayat</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The present study seeks to investigate the application of expansion strategy in Persian subtitles of English crime movies. More precisely, this study aims at classifying the different types of expansion used in subtitles as well as investigating the appropriateness or inappropriateness of the application of each type. To achieve this end, three English movies; namely, The Net (1995), Contact (1997) and Mission Impossible 2 (2000), available with Persian subtitles, were selected for the study. To collect the data, the above mentioned movies were watched and those parts of the Persian subtitles in which expansion had been used were identified and extracted along with their English dialogs. Then, the extracted Persian subtitles were classified based on the reason that led to expansion in each case. Next, the appropriateness or inappropriateness of using expansion in the extracted Persian subtitles was descriptively investigated. Finally, an equivalent not containing any expansion was proposed for those cases in which the meaning could be fully transferred without this strategy. The findings of the study indicated that the reasons range from explicitation (explicitation of visual, co-textual and contextual information), mistranslation and paraphrasing to the preferences of subtitlers. Furthermore, it was found that the employment of expansion strategy was inappropriate in all cases except for those caused by explicitation of contextual information since correct and shorter equivalents which were equally capable of conveying the intended meaning could be posited for the original dialogs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=audiovisual%20translation" title="audiovisual translation">audiovisual translation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=English%20crime%20movies" title=" English crime movies"> English crime movies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expansion%20strategies" title=" expansion strategies"> expansion strategies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Persian%20subtitles" title=" Persian subtitles"> Persian subtitles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34785/a-study-on-explicitation-strategies-employed-in-persian-subtitling-of-english-crime-movies" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/34785.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">468</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">279</span> Kinematic Analysis of Heel Height Effect on Knee Direction Correction in a Patient with Genu Recurvatum: A Case Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Parya%20Salimitari">Parya Salimitari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Farhad%20Tabatabai%20Ghomsheh"> Farhad Tabatabai Ghomsheh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Siyamak%20Khorramymehr"> Siyamak Khorramymehr</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Taghadosi"> Hossein Taghadosi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Hossein%20Dashti"> Mohammad Hossein Dashti</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of heel height on the knee joint direction in Genu recurvatum patients compared to normal state. The test was performed on a patient with Genu recurvatum and a healthy person with similar and match biomechanical conditions. Subjects were tested under six different positions of shoes with heels 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 cm after marking during the gate. The results of the spatial temporal geometry obtained from Vicon Motion System (six-camera T10 model, Oxford Metrics Ltd., Oxford, UK), and were used to compute and analyze the kinematic results. In this study, we tried to determine the effect of shoe heel intervention on knee joint direction correction. The results indicate that the 1 cm heel has been optimized and significantly improved in knee joint flexion and flexion-extension angle so that the difference in knee flexion-extension angle between the patient and the healthy person at some stages of walking has reached zero (good posture). The 3 cm heel compared with the 0 cm heel has reduced the knee recurvatum index (KRI) by up to 21.74% in the patient (from 219.233 mm to 47.6714 mm). According to the findings of this study, it can be concluded that heel increase is effective in correcting knee joints in Genu recurvatum and the optimum heel height is 1 cm. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=joint%20alignment%20of%20knee" title="joint alignment of knee">joint alignment of knee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gait%20analysis" title=" gait analysis"> gait analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genu%20recurvatum" title=" genu recurvatum"> genu recurvatum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heel%20lift" title=" heel lift"> heel lift</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=kinematics" title=" kinematics"> kinematics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=motion-analysis" title=" motion-analysis"> motion-analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101326/kinematic-analysis-of-heel-height-effect-on-knee-direction-correction-in-a-patient-with-genu-recurvatum-a-case-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101326.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">278</span> Toward Particular Series with (k,h)-Jacobsthal Sequence</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyyd%20Hossein%20Jafari-Petroudi">Seyyd Hossein Jafari-Petroudi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maryam%20Pirouz"> Maryam Pirouz</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This note is devoted to (k; h)-Jacobsthal sequence as a general term of particular series. Four hundred and sixteen male day-old chicks were assigned in a 2×2×2 factorial arrangement to a completely randomized design with four replicates (13 birds per replicate ). Treatments were: a control group that received the basal diet, basal diet plus 1% glutamine, basal diet plus 0.2% threonine, basal diet plus 0.75 % arginine, and combination of these three amino acids (glutamine+arginine, glutamine+threonine, arginine+threonine and arginine+ glutamine+threonine). The effect of glutamine supplementation on feed intake was significant in week 4 (p < 0.05), week 6 (p < 0.001), and total feed intake (p < 0.05) and caused declined feed intake. No significant differences of glutamine addition were observed on intestinal morphology (villi height, crypt depth, villi height to crypt depth ratio, villi width). Threonine supplementation caused increased weight gain in week 2 (p < 0.001) and 3 and a decrease of total feed intake (p < 0.05). Duodenum and jejunum villi height, crypt depth, villi height to crypt depth ratio, villi width were not affected. The effect of arginine supplementation was the increase of breast percentage (p < 0.05) and a decrease of jejunum villi high (p < 0.05) and Jejunum crypt depth (p < 0.05). Supplementation of arginine, threonine, and glutamine had no significant effects on blood titer of antibodies against Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, avian influenza. Overall, it seems that the supplementation of arginine, threonine, and glutamine in excess of requirements in the starter period had no effect on performance in subsequent periods and intestinal morphology. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intestinal%20morphology" title="intestinal morphology">intestinal morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=immunity" title=" immunity"> immunity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=broiler%20chickens" title=" broiler chickens"> broiler chickens</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glutamine" title=" glutamine"> glutamine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arginine" title=" arginine"> arginine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=threonine" title=" threonine"> threonine</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130002/the-effects-of-arginine-glutamine-and-threonine-supplementation-in-the-starting-phase-on-subsequent-performance-of-male-broile" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130002.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">137</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">274</span> Design and Developing the Infrared Sensor for Detection and Measuring Mass Flow Rate in Seed Drills</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bahram%20Besharti">Bahram Besharti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Navid"> Hossein Navid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hadi%20Karimi"> Hadi Karimi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Behfar"> Hossein Behfar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iraj%20Eskandari"> Iraj Eskandari</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Multiple or miss sowing by seed drills is a common problem on the farm. This problem causes overuse of seeds, wasting energy, rising crop treatment cost and reducing crop yield in harvesting. To be informed of mentioned faults and monitoring the performance of seed drills during sowing, developing a seed sensor for detecting seed mass flow rate and monitoring in a delivery tube is essential. In this research, an infrared seed sensor was developed to estimate seed mass flow rate in seed drills. The developed sensor comprised of a pair of spaced apart circuits one acting as an IR transmitter and the other acting as an IR receiver. Optical coverage in the sensing section was obtained by setting IR LEDs and photo-diodes directly on opposite sides. Passing seeds made interruption in radiation beams to the photo-diode which caused output voltages to change. The voltage difference of sensing units summed by a microcontroller and were converted to an analog value by DAC chip. The sensor was tested by using a roller seed metering device with three types of seeds consist of chickpea, wheat, and alfalfa (representing large, medium and fine seed, respectively). The results revealed a good fitting between voltage received from seed sensor and mass flow of seeds in the delivery tube. A linear trend line was set for three seeds collected data as a model of the mass flow of seeds. A final mass flow model was developed for various size seeds based on receiving voltages from the seed sensor, thousand seed weight and equivalent diameter of seeds. The developed infrared seed sensor, besides monitoring mass flow of seeds in field operations, can be used for the assessment of mechanical planter seed metering unit performance in the laboratory and provide an easy calibrating method for seed drills before planting in the field. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seed%20flow" title="seed flow">seed flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=infrared" title=" infrared"> infrared</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seed%20sensor" title=" seed sensor"> seed sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seed%20drills" title=" seed drills"> seed drills</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80419/design-and-developing-the-infrared-sensor-for-detection-and-measuring-mass-flow-rate-in-seed-drills" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80419.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">366</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">273</span> Synchronization of Chaotic T-System via Optimal Control as an Adaptive Controller</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Kheiri">Hossein Kheiri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bashir%20Naderi"> Bashir Naderi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamad%20Reza%20Niknam"> Mohamad Reza Niknam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper we study the optimal synchronization of chaotic T-system with complete uncertain parameter. This approach which extends Pearson’s curve system is solely based on the moments of a distribution up to a determinable order. Upon solving a system of linear equations, the coefficients of the polynomial ratio can readily be identified. An explicit solution to the integral representation of the resulting density approximant is then obtained. These developments have come with a cost, which is a toxic by-product. The rise of aluminum production has been accompanied by the rise of a waste material called Bauxite Residue or Red Mud. This toxic material has been proved to be harmful to the environment, yet, there is no proper way to dispose or recycle it. Herewith, a new experimental method to utilize this waste in the building material is proposed. A method to mix red mud, fly ash, and some other ingredients is explored to create a new construction material that can satisfy the minimum required strength for bricks. It concludes that it is possible to produce bricks with enough strength that is suitable for constriction in environments with low to moderate weather conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bauxite%20residue" title="bauxite residue">bauxite residue</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brick" title=" brick"> brick</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=red%20mud" title=" red mud"> red mud</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycling" title=" recycling"> recycling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109004/utilization-of-bauxite-residue-in-construction-materials-an-experimental-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109004.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">167</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">263</span> Check Factors Contributing to the Increase or Decrease in Labor Productivity in Employees Applied Science Center Municipal Andimeshk</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hossein%20Boromandfar">Hossein Boromandfar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmad%20Ghalavandi"> Ahmad Ghalavandi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper examines the importance of human resources as a strategic resource and the factors that lead to increased Labor productivity in Applied Science Center Andimeshk pay.
