The Flyways Officer will be concerned with ensuring successful delivery of the project in the participating countries in Africa, namely Djibouti, Ethiopia, Egypt, Eritrea and Sudan. The Flyways Officer will be based in Nairobi, Kenya at the BirdLife Africa Secretariat Office, with frequent travel to the participating countries and the regional project implementation unit based in Amman, Jordan.</span></p> <p><span lang="EN-US"><strong>Requirements:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span lang="EN-US">The right candidate should be educated to at least a Masters Degree academic level, preferably in Ornithology or Biodiversity Conservation related area.</span></li> <li><span lang="EN-US">The candidate should have demonstrable experience of project management.  Experience with UNDP and /or GEF project management procedures will be advantageous.</span></li> <li><span lang="EN-US">S/he should have a good track record and experience in conservation work in Africa.  </span></li> <li><span lang="EN-US">Understanding of donor-funded projects in the agriculture, energy and urban development sectors will be advantageous.</span></li> <li><span lang="EN-US">The candidate should have good communication and writing skills in both English and French languages.
