It is established that the continuous portion of this background spectrum is mostly due to the radiations that arrive from the upper hemisphere of the continuous spectrum similar to the instrumental one. The intensity of this radiation of an average energy of about 120 keV is estimated to about 8000 photons/m2s 2蟺srad in a ground level laboratory, and to about 5000 photons/m2s 2蟺srad at the depth of 25 m.w.e. Rough estimates of the dose that it contributes to the skin are about 1.5 nSv/h and 1 nSv/h respectively. Simulations by GEANT4 and CORSIKA demonstrate that this radiation is both of cosmic and terrestrial origin, mixed in proportion that still has to be determined. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1305.2572v2-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1305.2572v2-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">△ Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 14 May, 2013; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">v1</span> submitted 12 May, 2013; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> May 2013. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">6 pages, 5 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1304.7879">arXiv:1304.7879</a> <span> [<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1304.7879">pdf</a>] </span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics">physics.ao-ph</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Further investigations into the connection between cosmic rays and climate </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Dragi%C4%87%2C+A">A. The same type of analysis is then extended to the cases of sudden increases of cosmic-ray intensity (GLE), as well as to the search for lattitude effects in the observed correlations. We find that all the investigated correlations appear to manifest both the expected signs and the plausible phase relations, though each one only at the modest confidence level. Moreover, it appears that there is some proportionality between the magnitude of a cosmic-ray intensity change and a corresponding DTR deviation, both in the case of FD and GLE events. Eventual increase of the confidence levels at which these correlations are established would have to wait for the significant increase of the number of well defined and sufficiently intense recorded departures of cosmic-ray intensity from its stationary mean value. On the other hand, the probability of such an accidental multiple coincidence of independent pieces of evidence is certainly very low. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1304.7879v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1304.7879v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">△ Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 30 April, 2013; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> April 2013. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">9 pages, 3 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1203.4607">arXiv:1203.4607</a> <span> [<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1203.4607">pdf</a>] </span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Instrumentation and Detectors">physics.ins-det</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Nuclear Experiment">nucl-ex</span> </div> <div class="is-inline-block" style="margin-left: 0.5rem"> <div class="tags has-addons"> <span class="tag is-dark is-size-7">doi</span> <span class="tag is-light is-size-7"><a class="" href="https://doi.org/10.2298/NTRP1101064N">10.2298/NTRP1101064N <i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a></span> </div> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> The New Setup in the Belgrade Low-Level and Cosmic-Ray Laboratory </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Dragi%C4%87%2C+A">Aleksandar Dragi膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Udovi%C4%8Di%C4%87%2C+V">Vladimir Udovi膷i膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Banjanac%2C+R">Radomir Banjanac</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Jokovi%C4%87%2C+D">Dejan Jokovi膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Maleti%C4%87%2C+D">Dimitrije Maleti膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Veselinovi%C4%87%2C+N">Nikola Veselinovi膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Savi%C4%87%2C+M">Mihailo Savi膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Puzovi%C4%87%2C+J">Jovan Puzovi膰</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Ani%C4%8Din%2C+I+V">Ivan V. Characteristics and potentials of present experimental setup, together with some preliminary results for the flux of fast neutrons and stopped muons are reported. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1203.4607v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1203.4607v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">△ Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 20 March, 2012; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> March 2012. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">12 pages, 16 figures</span> </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Journal ref:</span> Nuclear Technology & Radiation Protection: Year 2011, Vol. 26, No. 3, pp.181-192 </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0912.4300">arXiv:0912.4300</a> <span> [<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/0912.4300">pdf</a>] </span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Instrumentation and Detectors">physics.ins-det</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Experiment">hep-ex</span> </div> <div class="is-inline-block" style="margin-left: 0.5rem"> <div class="tags has-addons"> <span class="tag is-dark is-size-7">doi</span> <span class="tag is-light is-size-7"><a class="" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1748-0221/5/03/P03010">10.1088/1748-0221/5/03/P03010 <i class="fa fa-external-link" aria-hidden="true"></i></a></span> </div> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Radiation hardness qualification of PbWO4 scintillation crystals for the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=The+CMS+Electromagnetic+Calorimeter+Group"> The CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter Group</a>, <a href="/search/physics?searchtype=author&query=Adzic%2C+P">P.
