His life and teachings are recorded in the New Testament, primarily in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Birth and Early Life:
Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea during the reign of King Herod, fulfilling the prophecy of Micah 5:2. His mother, Mary, was a virgin betrothed to Joseph, a descendant of King David. The angel Gabriel announced His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26-35). The Gospel of Matthew records the visit of the Magi, who came to worship Him, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Matthew 2:1-12).

Ministry:
Jesus began His public ministry around the age of thirty, following His baptism by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, where the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove, and a voice from heaven declared, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17). He preached the Kingdom of God, performed miracles, healed the sick, and cast out demons, demonstrating His divine authority and compassion.

Teachings:
Jesus' teachings emphasized love, forgiveness, and repentance. He taught in parables, using everyday situations to convey spiritual truths. The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) is one of His most famous discourses, where He expounded on the Beatitudes and the Lord's Prayer. He declared, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Death and Resurrection:
Jesus' crucifixion is central to Christian belief, seen as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity. He was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, arrested, and tried by the Sanhedrin. Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor, sentenced Him to death by crucifixion. Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day, as He had foretold (Matthew 16:21). His resurrection is celebrated as the cornerstone of Christian faith, affirming His victory over sin and death.

Ascension and Second Coming:
After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples over forty days, providing many convincing proofs of His being alive (Acts 1:3). He then ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father (Mark 16:19). Christians await His promised return, when He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead (Acts 1:11).

Titles and Names:
Jesus is referred to by many titles and names throughout the Scriptures, each reflecting His nature and mission. These include Christ (the Anointed One), Emmanuel (God with us), the Lamb of God, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, and the King of Kings.

Significance:
Jesus' life, death, and resurrection are the foundation of Christian doctrine and the basis for the hope of eternal life. His teachings continue to influence billions of people worldwide, and His message of salvation is central to the Christian faith.
Condensed Biblical Cyclopedia
Jesus of Nazareth

Promises and Prophecies Relating to Him.
