Come! see the place where the Lord was lying; <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>and, going quickly, say to His disciples, 'He arose from the dead;' and, behold, He is going before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him; behold, I told you."<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And, departing quickly from the sepulchre, with fear and great joy, they ran to announce <i>it</i> to His disciples. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And, behold, Jesus met them, saying, <FR>"Rejoice!"<Fr> And they, coming to Him, held His feet, and worshiped Him. <A name="11"></a><span class="red"><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Then Jesus saith to them, <FR>"Fear not, go your way, announce to My brethren that they go away into Galilee, and there shall they see Me."<Fr><p> <A name="12"></a><p class="hdg">The Report of the Guards<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And, as they were going, behold, some of the guard going into the city, reported to the high priests all that had happened. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And, having gathered together with the elders, and having taken counsel, they gave a large sum of silver to the soldiers, <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>saying, "Say ye that His disciples, coming by night, stole Him, while we were sleeping. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And, if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and make you devoid of care," <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/28-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And they, taking the silver, did as they were instructed.
