strong, and they saw Yazir and the land of Gelad as a place to go graze herds; <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>And the children of Rubil and the children of Gad came and they said to Moshe and to Eliazar the Priest and to the Princes of the assembly: <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>Atruth and Ribun and Yazir and Namra and Khesbun and Alala and Sheba and Nebo and Baun, <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>The land that LORD JEHOVAH put to the sword before the children of Israel, the land that is where to go for the pasture of cattle, and your Servants have cattle”: <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And they said, “If we find favor before you, let this land be given to your Servants as an inheritance, and do not bring us over the Jordan.”<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And Moshe said to the children of Rubil and to the children of Gad, “Your brethren are going out for battle and you are dwelling here? <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Why do you break the heart of the children of Israel that they should not pass over to the land that LORD JEHOVAH gives to them? <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Your fathers did so when I sent them from Reqem of Gia to spy out the land. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And they came up unto the valley of Segula and they saw the land and they broke the heart of the children of Israel that they would not enter the land that LORD JEHOVAH gave to them. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And the wrath of LORD JEHOVAH was provoked against them in that day and he swore and said: <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>‘The men who came up from Egypt from a son of twenty years and above shall not see the land that I swore to Abraham and to Isaac and to Yaquuv, because they have not followed wholly after me: <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>But only Kalab son of Yoophna the Qenezite and Yeshua son of Nun have followed wholly after LORD JEHOVAH.’ <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And the wrath of LORD JEHOVAH was provoked against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years until all the generation of the men who had done evil before LORD JEHOVAH came to an end. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And behold, you are risen, even you today, in the place of your fathers, a generation of men who are sinners, for you will increase again the wrath of LORD JEHOVAH against Israel. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And if you turn from LORD JEHOVAH, He will increase again your wandering in the wilderness, and for this you are destroying all the people.”<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And they came to him and they said, “We will build pens of sheep for our livestock here and towns for our little ones: <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And we shall be equipped and we shall go before the children of Israel until we shall bring them to their country and our little ones will dwell in the mighty cities from before the inhabitants of the land. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>We will not return to our houses until the children of Israel inherit, each man, his inheritance. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And we will not inherit with them from the crossing of Jordan and beyond, because we receive our inheritance from the crossing of Jordan from the East.”<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And Moshe said to them, “If you make this answer, also equip yourselves before LORD JEHOVAH for battle, <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And all of you pass over the Jordan when you are equipped for battle before LORD JEHOVAH until He will destroy his enemies before Him, <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And the land will be subdued before LORD JEHOVAH then, and you will return and you will be declared guiltless by LORD JEHOVAH and by Israel, and you shall have this land for an inheritance before LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And if you do not so, you sin against LORD JEHOVAH, and know that your sins track you down. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>Build for yourselves cities for your little ones and pens for your flocks, and anything that goes out from your mouth, do.<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And the children of Rubil and the children of Gad said to Moshe: “Your Servants shall do as our Lord commanded. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Our little ones and our women and our livestock and all our animals shall be in the villages of Gelad: <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And your Servants shall pass over when they are equipped in the army before LORD JEHOVAH for battle, as our Lord said.”<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And Moshe commanded Eliazer the Priest and Yeshua son of Nun and the Leaders of the tribes of the fathers of the children of Israel concerning all of them: <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And Moshe said to them: “If the children of Rubil and the children of Gad pass over the Jordan with you when they are equipped before LORD JEHOVAH for battle and the land will be subdued before you, the land of Gelad will be given to them as an inheritance: <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And if they shall not pass over with you when they are equipped, they will inherit with you in the land of Canaan.” <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And the children of Rubil and the children of Gad answered and they said to Moshe: “As LORD JEHOVAH said to your Servants, thus we shall do. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>We shall pass over when equipped before LORD JEHOVAH for battle to the land of Canaan and the possession of our inheritance at the crossing of Jordan.”<p> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And Moshe gave to the children of Rubil and to the children of Gad and to half of the tribe of Menasheh, son of Yoseph, the Kingdom of Sikhon the King of the Amorites, and the Kingdom of Og the King of Mathnin, all the land and its cities at its borders and the cities of the land that are around it. <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And the children of Gad built up Ribon and Atruth and Aduir, <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And Atruth, Shuphan and Yazir and Yabegha, <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And Bayth Namra, and Bayth Haran fortified cities and pens of sheep. <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And the sons of Rubil built Kheshbon and Elala and Quryathim, <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>And Nabu and Belmun whose names were adopted, and Sebma, and they called their names for names of cities that they built. <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And the sons of Mekir, son of Menasheh, went to Gelad and subjected it and destroyed the Amorites who were in it. <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And Moshe gave Gelad to Mekir, son of Menasheh, and he dwelt in it. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And Yair, son of Menasheh, went and conquered their villages and he called them Capharunay d’Yair –“Hamlets of Yair” until today. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/32-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>And Nekakh went and conquered Qith and its villages and he called it by the name
