With a price of $449.99 RRP for just the console, there is a high possibility that the hardware could cost more when it launched in the United States.

In a statement to IGN, Nintendo explaineed that the console’s release date of June 5, 2025 is “unchanged” as the new hardware releases worldwide. This bold outfit, inspired by Sue Storm's dark alter ego from Fantastic Four #280, debuted in Season 1 and replaced her trademark blue uniform with a provocative black leather garment with crimson accents.

The skin went incredibly viral upon its release as devs reported a 3000% search on Google for Invisible Woman, thus increasing her popularity. However, several fans raised eyebrows after a TikTok ad displaying this skin, labeled "Abuse Her This Season," aroused uproar for encouraging sexual violence. In March 2025, Australia's Ad Standards Community Panel found that it had violated advertising ethics, citing insensitivity to violence and nudity. NetEase stayed silent, leaving players to debate the boundary between edgy marketing and poor taste.

However, Season 2's Hellfire Gala is set to reignite the discussion, as Emma Frost's new skin follows a similar style. Her diamond-form style has a similarly daring costume, reminiscent of her personality in comic book lore.

Marvel Rivals Season 2's upcoming Emma Frost skin already goes viral ahead of release

Marvel Rivals leakers such as X0X_Leak and Rivals Assembled have revealed an upcoming skin for Emma Frost called X-Revolution that will be available on April 11, when Season 2 hits the game. The costume takes inspiration from the Uncanny X-Men: Battle of the Atom comic book series, where she's a telepath and wears stuff like this on purpose to weaponize simping and read people's minds and get what she wants.
A bold new Emma Frost skin is on its way. Image by VideoGamer.
However players and fans are both excited over the new look as the leaked skin has already received "gooner" attention on social media, similar to what the Invisible Woman Malice skin was treated to. One such fan said, "I’m loving people taking initiative and justifying this gooner skin unprovoked lol." Another chimed in, "The White Queen making people lose their minds out here."

On the other hand, the look of the skin outraged several users, where one wrote, "This game just can’t help but make every female hero as sexualized as possible." While Rivals devs have recently announced they are going to release a new hero every month from Season 3 onwards, fans are expecting more costumes for characters to drop in the game.

Furthermore, early patch notes also reveal that each skin will now have a color choice between two shades that players can choose when purchasing the outfit or even gifting to their friends in the upcoming Season 2. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see over the next few weeks whether Emma Frost breaks the viral meter raised by Invisible Woman or sparks another outrage over sexualizing its female roster.

As Krakoa’s mutant festivities unfold on April 11, players brace for another round of bold cosmetics and potential controversy, proving Marvel Rivals isn’t shying away from pushing boundaries.
</dc:content>

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is bringing a new skin which shows that devs aren't afraid to go all in on risky skins.

News

Marvel Rivals

 filmyforhire@gmail.com (Rishabh Sabarwal)

<media:text> Emma Frost Vanguard in Marvel Rivals </media:text>
 Emma Frost Vanguard in Marvel Rivals

Steam Deck users can now play amazing Infinity Blade 2 thanks to PC port
<dc:content>
There are new free games to claim and get for Steam Deck including “very positive” verified freebies, plus Mafia 3. While it won’t have the same inky blacks that’s possible with an OLED, Nintendo argues that the system’s 120Hz display, VRR support and HDR setup mean it isn’t necessarily a downgrade.

Nintendo Switch 2 LCD isn’t a downgrade

Speaking to press at a New York Q&A, via IGN, Nintendo’s Tetsuya Sasaki explained that the advancements in LCD technology means that players won’t actually be downgraded from their OLED screen.

“Now there's a lot of advancements that have been made in LCD technology during development,” Sasaki told press. “We took a look at the technology that was available to us now and after a lot of consideration we decided to stick to LCD.”

Nintendo argues that features like 120Hz support and true HDR playback means that the LCD is actually an improvement over the OLED version of the original Switch in a number of ways. While the original Switch’s LCD was rough, Nintendo has worked to make the LCD screen worth it for the successor.

One key area of improvement is the console’s support for HDR in handheld mode. While the original OLED model of Switch did have much better image quality than the LCD screen back then, it still didn’t support true HDR playback.

“Even with the OLED version of Nintendo Switch, we didn’t have compatibility support for HDR,” Sasaki said. “But that's something we have the support for now,” he said.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9flte56erE8&t=1s
With official DLSS support and support for hardware-accelerated ray-tracing, the Nintendo Switch 2 has a lot of awesome features that Nintendo has yet to explain. After having the vehicular murder of small Zois patched out, players are now engaging in yet another virtual crime.

While some players hunt for the best InZoi mods—and others create some rather cursed addons—the early access life simulator already has some hilarious glitches. And, just like The Sims, players are more than willing to exploit them.

InZoi players kidnap babies

In the current version of InZoi, players can simply invite themselves over to another Zoi’s house. If you find yourself at someone else’s house in the game and they have a baby, you can simply pick the small child up and walk home with them. It’s that easy.

TikTok user InZoiTikToks shared a video of the sinister video game bug online. In the video, the player Zoi simply walks into someone else's home, picks up the infant and simply walks away.
https://www.tiktok.com/@inzoitiktoks/video/7485379784147569966
One player on Twitter also discovered that players can force any Zoi in the world to enter their car when driving around. This means that players can virtually kidnap any character in the game. In the example, the player stole a school child from the Bliss Bay Public School, but you can also kidnap literally anyone else.
https://twitter.com/onlyabidoang/status/1905553136359801239
InZoi kidnapping is hilarious and weird because Zois will simply remember they don’t belong in your house after a short while. While you can quickly snatch a baby from a nearby house and put it in your house, the infant will run on home as soon as it grows up and attends school. The same is true of the older children who will go back to school the morning after you take them like nothing happened.

With the official InZoi roadmap officially bringing adoption to the game sometime in May, some could see this as the chaotic evil substitute for the official mechanic. However, we don’t expect the whole InZoi kidnapping thing to stick around very long.

At the end of the day, InZoi’s hilarious bugs are yet another sign that this is a true Sims competitor. After all, half of the fun of The Sims post-launch period is seeing all of the hilarious patch notes that come to fix the games’ weird issues. Who remembers “pregnant Sims can no longer brawl”?

For more InZoi coverage, check out how to improve city karma in the game, how to get a job in the game and the best Canvas presets in the game.
</dc:content>

After spending an evening running over children with hilarious ragdoll effects, InZoi players have discovered another nefarious activity in Krafton’s new life simulator: virtual kidnapping. While we got to see new details on the console’s awesome GameChat feature and found out after the fact about Game-Key Cards, there was a curious omission of both DLSS and ray-tracing support.

As it turns out, the Nintendo Switch 2 does support both DLSS image reconstruction and ray-tracing. However, Nintendo is still being coy on the details. With the official tech specifications still stating the console using a vaguely described “custom processor” by Nvidia, Nintendo is being rather shy about how these technologies can be used on the new handheld.

Nintendo Switch 2 DLSS and ray-tracing confirmed

At a press Q&A in New York, Nintendo confirmed that the new Nintendo Switch 2 handheld does indeed support both Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology as well as hardware-accelerated ray-tracing. While no games showed off during the recent Direct make use of these technologies to our eyes, they can be used in titles in the future.

“We use DLSS upscaling technology and that's something that we need to use as we develop games,” said Nintendo’s Takuhiro Dohta (via IGN). “And when it comes to the hardware, it is able to output to a TV at a max of 4K. Whether the software developer is going to use that as a native resolution or get it to upscale is something that the software developer can choose. I think it opens up a lot of options for the software developer to choose from.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9flte56erE8
Dohta also confirmed that the GPU on the Nintendo Switch 2 SoC “does support ray-tracing” which “provides yet another option for the software developer to use”. When asked about specifics of the GPU, which modders and tinkerers will find out eventually anyway, Dohta said “Nintendo doesn't share too much on the hardware spec”. You can say that again.

However, Dohta did tease that “our partner Nvidia will be sharing some information” on the custom technology used in the Nintendo Switch 2 handheld. In the near future, we should find out exactly what the Switch 2 is capable of. After all, if games like Cyberpunk 2077 and the real version of Hogwarts Legacy can run on the device, we should be in for an interesting generation.

For more Switch 2 coverage, read about how ex-Nintendo marketing leads believe the console will get its own version of Baldur's Gate 3 in the future.
</dc:content>

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct yesterday revealed a tonne of new information about Nintendo’s console including specs, games and more. This was revealed in a promo image, which also showed a few new costumes coming with the season.

In this article, we will take a detailed look at all the new content that will arrive soon. Instead, Emma Frost and Ultron will come.

According to leakers, Emma Frost will be a Vanguard, while Ultron will be a Strategist. Initially a Virtua Fighter RPG, Yu Suziki’s adventure of Ryo Hazuki on his quest for vengeance is still an amazing game today, and one that has influenced a tonne of modern titles.

In a recent poll with the British public, BAFTA (the British Academy Film Awards) sought out to discover what the UK deems as the most influential video game of all time. Alongside titles like Half-Life 2, DOOM, Minecraft, GTA, World of Warcraft and more, Britain has deemed Shenmue as the industry’s most influential title.

Shenmue crowned the “most influential video game of all time”

In the surprise poll, BAFTA awarded Shenmue the title of most influential video game. The 1999 open-world adventure game was heralded for its “detailed open-world setting that truly captures the essence of Yokosuka in the ‘80s."

It’s worth noting that Shenmue is a highly influential game, although it didn’t sell particularly well on release. The game is often seen as the pioneer of 3D open world which would inspire GTA as well as the forefather or truly cinematic storytelling in a video game which has led to games like The Last of Us Part 2. SEGA’s masterpiece is also seen as the progenitor of Quick-Time Events which dominated the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation.

However, it is surprising to see Shenmue take the top spot when compared to its competitors. In second-place is DOOM, the game that brought the first-person shooter genre to the forefront of gaming. In third place is Super Mario Bros. Which reinvented platforming, fourth place is Half-Life and fifth is Ocarina of Time.

Here is the full list of 21 influential games, some of which are weirder than others:
Shenmue (1999)Doom (1993)Super Mario Bros. (1985)Half-Life (1998)The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)Minecraft (2011)Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (2025)… (also, huh?)Super Mario 64 (1996)Half-Life 2 (2004)The Sims (2000)Tetris (1984)Tomb Raider (1996)Pong (1972)Metal Gear Solid (1998)World of Warcraft (2004)Baldur's Gate 3 (2023)Final Fantasy VII (1997)Dark Souls (2011)Grand Theft Auto 3 (2001)Skyrim (2011)Grand Theft Auto (1997)
There are some curious omissions from the list of most influential video games of all time. For example, where is Ultima, the game that inspired Dragon Quest which in itself created the modern turn-based RPG. Where is Halo 2, the game that influenced everyone and their mother to create console online multiplayer modes?

“I am deeply honoured and grateful that Shenmue has been selected as the Most Influential Video Game of All Time," Shenmue creator and director Yu Suzuki said in a BAFTA statement. "At its inception, we set out to explore the question, 'How real can a game become?,' aiming to portray a world and story unprecedented in scale and detail. This distinction serves as a powerful reminder that the challenge we embraced continues to resonate with and inspire so many people even today. It is truly the greatest of encouragement.”

“Above all, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the fans around the world who have continued to love and support Shenmue," the director continued. "Your passion and encouragement have guided this journey every step of the way. And the story is not over yet, there is more to come! Thank you very much!”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNjIirpyUck
Now, Shenmue is an amazing game, and certainly an inspiration for a lot of developers. But is it more influential than Super Mario Bros? Or Pac-Man? What about PUBG, the game that inspired everyone to create a battle royale for ten years? I am truly bewildered… but Shenmue is great!
</dc:content>

SEGA’s Shenmue is damn-near perfect. While Nintendo has yet to reveal the exact technical specs of the console’s RAM and SoC setup, a host of new games, specs, prices and more have been revealed for the new machine. The company has also revealed why a host of Switch 1 games won’t run on Switch 2.

With games like Cyberpunk 2077 coming to the console on launch day, Nintendo Switch 2 is a massive technical leap over the 2017 handheld (which was already running 2013-era hardware). In a recent podcast, just before the Direct, former Nintendo marketing leads Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang explained that the new handheld should be capable of running games such as Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is possible on Nintendo Switch 2

While Larian Studios has not revealed any official plans to bring its amazing RPG to Nintendo’s new handheld, Ellis and Yang claim the new console should be more than powerful enough to play the amazing game. The two ex-marketing leads explain that the console is more than capable of playing anything that can on a Steam Deck, using BG3 as an example.

“A lot of these big studios got a lot of experience and positive feedback through putting their game on the Steam Deck and translating it to a piece of hardware that's maybe not as powerful as the high-end PC,” Ellis explained. “They saw, 'no wait, there's a lot of people that want to play a version that's maybe a little bit dialed down because they want that extra form factor.”

"I'm talking about Baldur's Gate 3. I'm talking about Elden Ring. I'm talking about Cyberpunk. The list goes on ... we don't yet know the complete under-the-hood power of the Switch 2, but it's not crazy to say, 'well, if it can run on a Steam Deck it probably can run on a Switch 2, right?'"
https://youtu.be/x79KVNhQTgg
Larian Studios also has a history of creating miracle ports of its intensive RPGs. For example, the intensive-for-its-time Divinity Original Sin 2 received an amazing port to iOS and the original Nintendo Switch. With key optimisations made to the studio’s in-house engine over the past year, a Switch 2 port of BG3 should be more than possible.

Judging from the quality of gameplay footage we’ve seen in the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the new Nintendo handheld should also provide a substantially better experience in Baldur’s Gate 3 than a device like the Steam Deck. As someone who has played both Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck, the footage we’ve seen on them running on Switch 2 is considerably higher quality than Valve’s trusty machine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERSpbP0z984
Personally, I didn’t have a great experience playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Steam Deck, although it’s a fine way to play if its the only option you have. However, if a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game does release, I will be all over that in a heartbeat… considering I’m able to actually get my hands on one.

While Larian is officially leaving Baldur’s Gate 3 behind to create its next RPG, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for the studio to give the game one last hurrah on the new Nintendo handheld. Please, Larian, please.
</dc:content>

Near-full details of the Nintendo Switch 2 have been officially revealed following a brand-new direct. Some have feared the weapon is nerfed and most believed it is bugged, but, whatever the case, fans seem to agree that Arrowhead has ruined the weapon again. While the unanimous belief is that the Eruptor is bugged, a QA lead for Helldivers 2 has clarified that the weapon is actually not “broken” despite player complaints.

Helldivers 2 QA lead says Eruptor is not “broken”

Since update 01.002.201, there has been complaints about the Eruptor following the intended change listed below:
Fixed an issue where shrapnel from surface-hits was forced in a roughly south-west direction. Shrapnel should now properly fly out in a 180-ish arc in the direction of the surface hit
Recently, on the Helldivers subreddit, OP p_visual shared an email response from Arrowhead’s Support Team saying the Eruptor issues are “something we’ve already investigated and fixed, just waiting to be pushed out in an upcoming patch”.

However, according to community manager, Baskinator, the “support agent made a mistake” as it “is not a bug, and the weapon is functioning as intended”.

Per QA lead JoJo, Arrowhead made changes in patch 01.002.201 due to “The Eruptor overperforming because of a glitch that caused its shrapnel to go in one direction”.

The QA lead said, “It now has a normal shrapnel spread. It does not bounce back and kill the player. So, it's not ‘broken’, but it has been communicated to the balance people that folks liked the consistent damage”.
Image credit: Helldivers Discord
In a clarification about the shrapnel not bouncing back and killing the player, JoJo explained, “I mispoke a little. The shrapnel can hit you, but only at close ranges and it's an explosive weapon so that is par for the course. What I meant was there's nothing broken about the shrapnel spread”.
Image credit: Helldivers Discord
So, from the above messages, it appears as though the Eruptor is working as Arrowhead intends despite complaints from the community. Responding to JoJo’s comments on Reddit, a lot of players are vexed as they swear the weapon “doesn't now deal with medium enemies consistently and kills the player and team mates more consistently,” and there is also a lot of confusion about why the weapon was considered as “overpowered” in the first place.

Since it’s “been communicated to the balance people that folks liked the consistent damage,” hopefully this is something that gets rectified in an upcoming patch. We already know the next hotfix should resolve issues with the Autocannon, but hopefully the Eruptor will be improved again, too.

For more Helldivers 2, check out our guide to the best warbonds ranked, along with the best stratagems and best throwables. Following the huge announcement of the console’s specs, price and more, as well as the system’s new Game Key cards, Nintendo has revealed how the new hardware plays old games.

Nintendo has revealed that some original Switch games won’t work via Nintendo Switch 2 backward compatibility, and it seems actual compatibility might be mixed. The company has published a list of incompatible titles as well as a list of games that suffer from compatibility issues.

Nintendo Switch 2 backward compatibility explained

Following the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, an online Q&A revealed that the new system’s backward compatibility doesn’t work like prior Nintendo consoles. While the 3DS included DS hardware to play old games and the Wii U included Wii hardware, the new console doesn’t include any hardware from the original Switch.

With this in mind, backward compatibility uses a mixture of both software and hardware emulation to translate Switch 1 data into Switch 2. While this should result in a high level of compatibility, some titles will not work or will experience issues on the new device.

“Switch 2 doesn't contain any Switch hardware”
Console producer Kouichi Kawamoto
“When we first started Switch 2 development, the focus was on enhancing its performance as hardware, namely, expanding its capacity," explained the console’s director Takuhiro Dohta. "So, compatibility was a lower priority. For example, Nintendo DS games were playable on Nintendo 3DS, and Wii games were playable on Wii U, but it was difficult to achieve the same level of compatibility with Switch 2, because the hardware design approach was different from those systems."

Console producer Kouichi Kawamoto explained that the “Switch 2 doesn't contain any Switch hardware”. Therefore, the system makes use of “something that’s somewhere in between a software emulator and hardware compatibility” to run older games.

Nintendo has explained that the list of incompatible Switch games on the new console is likely to change. Either via in-game updates, system updates to improve compatibility, or paid upgrades for the new machine, some titles might be playable again on the new machine.
https://youtu.be/9flte56erE8?si=lSixZqXgK2dP9LWQ
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this for a new generation of console. In fact, the PlayStation 5 still can’t play all PS4 games via backward compatibility, although nearly every game now runs without issue on the newer machine.

With some great games now trapped on Switch 1 — such as Alan Wake, South Park: The Fractured But Hole and Wolfenstein II — we hope that Nintendo can work fast to bring every game to the new machine. While the original Switch saw some physical releases launch without a cartridge in the box, they will now launch with almost-blank game cards that require the internet to use.

Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Cards are sneaky DRM tools

Revealed on the Nintendo Support page for the Switch 2, the new “Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card overview” details the most annoying feature of the unreleased console yet.

“Game-key cards are different from regular game cards, because they don’t contain the full game data,” the description reads. “Instead, the game-key card is your "key" to downloading the full game to your system via the internet.”

Every Switch 2 game that releases in “Game-key card” form will have a small notice at the bottom of the case. This notice reads “full game download via internet required”.

Essentially, every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-key Card is a license instead of an actual game. Developers that don’t want to shell out for the price of a game cartridge that has enough storage can instead keep their costs down by making users download the game themselves.

Similar to the original Xbox One plan for physical games, the license can seemingly be transferred between users, although that’s not confirmed. Current Switch games that release without a cartridge typically come with a game key that is instantly tied to a user account. With this in mind, the Game Key Card system isn’t a terrible compromise, but it’s still a terrible choice for longevity.

It’s a double-edged sword as, for the life cycle of the console, you do get something that sounds like it can be resold and transferred. However, as soon as Nintendo turns off the console’s servers in the future, players won’t be able to download their games.
</dc:content>

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct revealed a host of awesome new specs, features, games and more for the upcoming handheld.
