regular">Purpose</div> <p>World Nuclear Association, the international organisation representing the global nuclear industry, is seeking to recruit an IT Manager. With responsibility for the Association’s entire IT infrastructure and services, the IT Manager is a hands-on role charged with ensuring the effective and smooth operation of organisation-wide IT and telecommunications systems to support the Association’s activities and objectives. The role is pivotal in determining and delivering the IT needs of the Association including infrastructure, office systems and hosted applications. The IT Manager is required to provide technical support and training to staff, and has full responsibility for system performance, security and compliance.</p> <div class="vacancy_title font_medium regular">Key Responsibilities</div> <ul> <li>Manage, administer, configure and maintain the Association’s entire IT infrastructure - systems, servers, networks, software, databases.</li> <li>Review, develop and implement IT policies, procedures and best practice guides for the organisation; identify opportunities for continuous improvement of IT systems, software and processes to contribute to efficient delivery of Association activities.</li> <li>Ensure the cost-effective provision of fit-for-purpose IT, AV and telecommunication equipment for the Association, according to an agreed implementation programme.</li> <li>Manage, maintain and report on allocation of the IT budget.</li> <li>Plan and implement software installations including system updates, upgrades, migrations, patches and outages.</li> <li>Assist staff in the use of all IT hardware and software, providing support and troubleshooting problems, escalating where appropriate; deliver adequate staff training as appropriate and maintain up-to-date training records.</li> <li> IT setup and induction of new staff; co-ordinate, build, configure and deliver user hardware.</li> <li>Continuous review of hardware age & efficiency, ensuring own up-to-date knowledge of new technology, developing, proposing and implementing approved upgrade programme(s) as appropriate.</li> <li> Manage relationships with external providers and manage all third-party IT support contracts and licences.</li> <li>Monitor the performance and reliability of the IT infrastructure and equipment, conducting regular system audits, monitoring key performance indicators and running & sharing regular operational system reports with the management team.</li> <li>Implement systems to monitor and ensure the security of IT equipment and systems; run regular checks on network and data security.</li> <li>Develop, test and review IT policies and procedures for disaster recovery, risk management and business continuity.</li> <li>Manage the ongoing integration of new SaaS platforms to ensure its smooth and seamless integration with existing systems.</li> <li>Ensure that all required technical documentation for IT infrastructure and security is created and maintained in order to improve efficiency and minimise risk.</li> <li>Ensure that all IT applications and systems are compliant with industry standards and regulations.</li> <li>In liaison with the Director of Finance, establish and maintain an asset register, complete system checks and scheduled maintenance; implement a safe and responsible disposal management system.</li> <li>Other related IT responsibilities as assigned by the Director General or Head of Operatio</li> </ul> <div class="vacancy_title regular">Qualifications and Experience Required</div> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in IT related subject.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar technical support/infrastructure role. ▪ A technical expert with proven experience of IT installations (including VPN, LAN, desktops, laptops, peripherals, software, telecoms, AV, VOIP.), support & maintenance, fault diagnosis & repair.</li> <li>Knowledge & experience of a variety of client and server hardware platforms.</li> <li>Extensive experience of technical delivery including;
