Besonders beliebt ist die Küste unter den Surfern, aber auch unter Pauschalurlaubern. Die raue Naturschönheit verlockt jedem zu einem Spaziergang. Perfekt fürs Surfen!</p> <h2>Die besten Surfspots an der Algarve</h2> <p>Grundsätzlich ist vor allem im Sommer mit großen Massen und langen Schlangen beim Surfen zu rechnen. Viele Surfer, darunter primär Anfänger, möchten in den Genuss der zahlreichen Wellen an der Algarve kommen. Das Gute an der Algarve ist, dass die Wellen sich über die ganze Küste erstrecken und die Masse gut aufgeteilt wird. Auch empfiehlt es sich für Fortgeschrittene Surfer die Algarve im Winter zu besuchen, da die Temperaturen trotzdem angenehm warm sind.<br /> Ebenfalls spielt die Unterteilung in südliche und westliche Küste eine Rolle.</p> <p>Die westliche Algarve ist geprägt von endlosen Schotterpisten und kurvige Landstraßen mit starkem Gegenwind. Der an der Flussmündung liegende Anlaufpunkt Odeceixe ist perfekt geeignet für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene. Sanfte grüne Low- und Mid Tide Wellen tanzen über das Wasser. Auch gibt es dort Surfschulen, die Anfängern mit offenen Armen empfangen oder erfahrenen Surfern bei der Verfeinerung ihrer Surfskills gerne helfen.</p> <h3>Arrifana</h3> <p>Klares Wasser, hohe Klippen und Windschutz sind Charakteristiken der Bucht Arrifana. Die anfängerfreundlichen und windgeschützten Wellen werden aber bedauerlicherweise sehr oft überfüllt, wenn der Nordwind in den nächstgelegenen Surfspots wütet. Bei normalem Wetter findet sich für jeden Surfer die passende Wellen, sollten aber der Nordwest-Swell, Süd-Ost-Wind und die passende Sandbank aufeinander treffen, ist der Take-Off nur noch etwas für erfahrene Surfer. Surfschulen finden sich bei den Weißwasserzonen und für einen After Snack ist mit vielen Bars ausreichend gesorgt. Zwischen den Mid Tide und High Tide Sandbänken findet sich für jedes Surflevel eine geeignete Welle.</p> <p>Der Süden der Algarve zeichnet sich durch rote Felsen, kleine Buchten und vielen Wellen aus. Wo im Westen die großen Wellen für Anfänger bereits zu groß sind, fangen im Süden diese erst an. Generell ist der Süden für Fortgeschrittene und Profi Surfer zu empfehlen. An machen Tagen plagen fehlende Wellen die Surfer, da der südliche Teil der Algarve keinen direkten Atlantik-Swell abbekommt.</p> <h3>Beliche</h3> <p>Definitiv ist dieser Spot nichts für Anfänger, nur wenn diese zuschauen wollen. Die Wellen mögen zwar klein wirken, aber sie haben es faustdick hinter den Ohren. Die Kraft der Wellen wird oftmals unterschätzt, jedoch offenbart der Spot erst im Winter sein wahres Gesicht. Viele Surfer warten nur auf den Moment, die mächtigen Wellen zu bezwingen.</p> <h3>Tonel</h3> <p>Der wohl beliebteste Spot geht an Tonel. Ganz jährlich wird er mit Wellen und Sonne versorgt. Für Anfänger bietet sich der Low-Tide an, welcher mit Surfschulen geteilt werden muss. Bei Mid- oder High Tide sollten nicht die ersten Surferfahrungen gemacht werden, da hohle Selections, starke Strömungen und versteckte Felsen den Spot schmücken. Erfahrene Surfer haben hier Vortritt, sollten dennoch vorsichtig sein und nicht die Kraft der Wellen unterschätzen.</p> <h3>Mareta</h3> <p>Ein Ort, der zwar nicht immer Wellen hat, aber dafür der Umwelt guttut. Bei Low- oder Mid Tide lohnt es sich aufs Surfboard zu steigen und die Wellen zu genießen, während bei High-Tide lieber das Surfboard abgestellt werden sollte, da die mächtigen Wellen oft als Shortbreak gegen die Klippen schellen. Lokal organisierte Beach Clean Ups können bei solchen Wellen unterstützt werden, um der Vermüllung des Ozeans entgegenzuwirken.</p> <h3>Meia Praia</h3> <p>Mit etwas Nordwind und Süd-Ost-Swell ist es in den Sommermonaten sogar möglich ohne Neopren zu surfen. Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene kommen bei den Wellen durchaus an ihre Grenzen. Sollte das Wasser wellenstill sein, können die vielen Bars, Läden und Restaurants besucht werden.</p> <h2>Surfen ohne Neopren?</h2> <p>Surfen ohne Neopren eignet sich nur für Fortgeschrittene und höher. Ein Neoprenanzug schützt nämlich vor Verletzungen, Kälte und UV-Strahlen. Bei gutem heißen Wetter, kann auf den Anzug verzichtet werden, aber die Verletzungsgefahr bleibt weiterhin bestehen. Denn beim Surfen peitscht nicht nur der Wind um einen herum, sondern auch das Wasser. Prinzipiell kann dies schon ab April in der Algarve möglich sein.</p> <h2>Fazit</h2> <p>Die Algarve hat den perfekten Surfspot für jeden Surfer, egal welches Level und Ausrüstung. Im Westen tummeln sich eher Anfänger und profitieren von den sanfteren Wellen, während im Süden Erfahrung gefragt ist. Entlang der Küste gibt es genug Surfschulen, welche viele Kurse anbieten. Bars, Hotels, Clubs und Restaurants sind natürlich zahlreich anzufinden und dem Surfurlaub steht nichts mehr im Weg – vielleicht findet man sogar seinen eignen menschenleeren, versteckten
