відгукнувся про футбольний спадок країни, а також про її футболістів і видатних особистостей, котрі залишили слід в європейській і світовій грі.</p> <p>Мішель Платіні разом із високопосадовцями УЄФА, керівниками національних асоціацій і знаменитостями світового футболу взяли участь у святкуванні ювілею РФС у Санкт-Петербурзі, а також відвідали урочисту церемонію відкриття 20 розіграшу Кубку Співдружності, де змагаються 12 молодіжних збірних.</p> <p>"Повинен визнати, що мене завжди захоплювала ваша масштабна країна, - сказав глава УЄФА учасникам гала-вечора. - Я часто відзначав дні народження різних національних асоціацій... Пам'ятаю, що в тій чи іншій країні футбол зародився завдяки появі британських інженерів - де не було виходу до моря, або британських моряків - у тих місцях, де були порти. Вочевидь, Росія в цьому плані не є винятком - у Санкт-Петербург прибували моряки, а в Москву - інженери й торговці".</p> <p>"Утім, я повинен визнати, що був приємно здивований, вивчаючи історію вашого футболу, - додав він. - Я дізнався, що один із головних, а то й головний засновник Російського футбольного союзу був француз, який народився в Росії - Жорж Дюперон. Завдяки його ініціативі, й отриманню членства у ФІФА в 1912 році Росія вперше виступила в міжнародному турнірі - Олімпіаді-1912 у Стокгольмі". Зазначимо, що РФС був заснований 19 січня 1912 року. </p> <p>"Ці починання, які я б назвав скромними, стали епічною мандрівкою, що була настільки ж бурхливою та контрастною, як історія самої Росії. Проведення в країні чемпіонату світу в 2018 році буде чудовим епілогом та апогеєм цієї подорожі", - додав Мішель Платіні.</p> <p>Президент УЄФА пригадав низку російських футболістів, які в 1960 році допомогли збірній СРСР завоювати золото дебютного розіграшу чемпіонату Європи. Він також розповів, що ще дитиною обожнював уродженця Москви легендарного Льва Яшина, який є одним із найкращих воротарів за всю історію футболу.</p> <p>"Я і мої ровесники - всі ми були захоплені величчю Льва Яшина. Навіть у наші часи молодь дивиться чорно-білі кадри, що зафіксували легендарного голкіпера. Його кепка, традиційна чорна форма, його дивовижні польоти й видатні сейви, справжній джентельменський характер, про який розповідають ті, хто знав його особисто", - зазначив президент УЄФА.</p> <p>"На жаль, у мене не було нагоди вручити йому Нагороду президента УЄФА, адже Яшин пішов від нас занадто рано.
