The organization is prone to <a href="/wiki/Shinto" title="Shinto">Shinto</a> <a href="/wiki/Fundamentalism" title="Fundamentalism">fundamentalism</a>. So, it has <a href="/wiki/Anti-feminist" class="mw-redirect" title="Anti-feminist">anti-feminist</a> tendencies. The group is also hostile to gender-free education and the <a href="/wiki/LGBT" class="mw-redirect" title="LGBT">sexual minority</a> <a href="/wiki/Civil_rights_movement" class="mw-redirect" title="Civil rights movement">civil rights movement</a>. Nippon Kaigi is also very negative about human rights for the disabled. Japan had a 'Maternal Health Protection Law' until 1996, which forced abortion and sterilization for the disabled and mentally ill, similar to <a href="/wiki/Eugenics" title="Eugenics">eugenics</a> in the early 20th century. The law was repealed, but Nippon Kaigi was desperately opposed to repeal and had engaged in various lobbying activities. Even now, they are secretly negative about the human rights movement for the disabled. </p><p>Nippon Kaigi does not use the normal term the "Pacific War" to refer to the Asia-Pacific theater of <a href="/wiki/World_War_II" title="World War II">World War II</a>. Instead, they insist on the phrase "Great East Asia War," which was used during the Japanese Empire in the past. It also claims that the "Great East Asia War" was Japan's self-defense war. In addition, Nippon Kaigi uses <a href="/wiki/Historical_revisionism" title="Historical revisionism">historical revisionism</a> regarding the Japanese Empire, the Japanese military's use of <a href="/wiki/Comfort_women" title="Comfort women">sexual slavery</a>, the <a href="/wiki/Nanjing_massacre" class="mw-redirect" title="Nanjing massacre">Nanjing massacre</a> and other issues of serious <a href="/wiki/War_crimes" title="War crimes">war crimes</a> by downplaying or denying the atrocities being committed. Some members even cite <a href="/wiki/Holocaust_denial" title="Holocaust denial">Holocaust denials</a>. About 260 of Japan's incumbent lawmakers are known to be members of the group. Of course, most are members of the LDP, a right-wing nationalist party.
