Esta categoría, en cierto modo despreciada o al menos soslayada por la tradición filosófica occidental, se destaca en la filosofía de Ortega gracias a la base biológica de su planteamiento. A lo largo del artículo mostraremos cómo la poiesis-dentro de la cual podemos englobar conceptos como los de creación o técnica-merece un estatus propio dentro de las discusiones sobre las relaciones entre teoría y práctica. Esta reivindicación de la poiesis nos proporcionará una base más firme desde la que reflexionar sobre el tecnologizado mundo actual. ABSTRACT The present paper tries to expose Ortega y Gasset\u0026amp;#39;s proposal around the cathegory of poiesis. This cathegory, in some way despised or at least bypassed by western philosophical tradition, is highlighted in Ortega\u0026amp;#39;s philosophy thanks to the biological basis of his approach. Through the paper we will show how poiesis –under which we can encompass concepts as creation or technique– deserves an independent status in the discussions about theory and practice relationships. Theory of metaphor in Ortega y Gasset The theory of the metaphor is one of the most complex subjects of the linguistic studies and perhaps a field with vast unexplored horizons on which there is still much to be learned, even in terms of their gnoseological implications. Ortega y Gasset has made a valuable contribution to the theory of metaphor by means of various considerations that he has done throughout his works. His bright lucid, powerful insights into its scope, masterfully expressed by his pen, represent a significant advance over some contemporary studies on the subject. This paper attempts to collect these scattered considerations in his works; present them systematically and show the incardination of this theory in the epistemological thought of Ortega.
