I have said: “Here I am, here I am!”, to the people who did not call my name<p> <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>I have stretched my hands all day to a people that is disobedient, who walk after their counsels in a way that is not beautiful<p> <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>The people who angers me constantly, sacrificing in gardens and laying sweet spices on stones<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And they sit in graves and lodge in caves and eat meat of pigs and they pollute their garments with corpses to violate the Law, and to defile the holy covenant that they would anger LORD JEHOVAH<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And they were saying, “Go far away; do not come near to me, because I am hallowed!” These were smoke in my rage and a fire burning every day<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Behold, it is written before me: “I shall not be silent until I shall pay them double into their bosom<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Their sins and the sins of their fathers are evident, says LORD JEHOVAH, for they have put sweet incense on the mountains, and upon the hills they reproached me. I shall measure their first works into their bosom”<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Thus says LORD JEHOVAH: “As a bunch is found in a cluster, and a man says to his neighbor, ‘You shall not destroy it, because a blessing is in it’, thus I shall do because of my Servant, and I shall not destroy them all<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And I shall bring out seed from Yaqob and from Yehuda, the heir of my mountain, and my chosen ones shall inherit it, and my Servants shall dwell there<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And Sharon will be pastures for flocks, and the Valley of Akur for pens of herds, for my people who have sought me<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And you who have forsaken LORD JEHOVAH and have forgotten his holy mountain, and you have filled tables for The Fortunes, and you mixed wine pots for them<p> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>I shall number you for the sword and all of you shall be destroyed in slaughter, because I called and you did not answer, and I have spoken and you have not heard, and you did what is evil before me, and you have chosen what I do not wish<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/65-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Because of this, thus says LORD JEHOVAH God: “Behold, my Servants shall eat and you shall be hungry. Behold, my Servants shall drink, and you shall be thirsty.
