API-ene er åpne og krever ikke registrering.</p> <h2>Hva er API?</h2> <p>API gjør det mulig for programmer å snakke sammen.</p> <p>API står for <strong>A</strong>pplication <strong>P</strong>rogramming <strong>I</strong>nterface, det er altså et grensesnitt for programmering mot en applikasjon, her Statistikkbanken.</p> <p>De eksterne API-ene er web-API, som betyr at de er tilgjengelige via Internet. De benytter <em><strong>http</strong></em> - <strong>h</strong>yper<strong>t</strong>ext <strong>t</strong>ransfer <strong>p</strong>rotocol</p> <p>Slik kan du programmere uttrekk fra Statstikkbanken via web. Du kan programmere uttrekk på ulike måter, blant annet med Power BI, Excel, R, javascript eller Python. Såkalte "biblioteker" er hjul med kode, slik at du ikke må finne opp hjulet på nytt.</p> <p>API-et med ferdige datasett har lavest brukerterskel, men API: Lag egne datasett er mye større og viktigere.</p> <h2>Hva er fordelen med API?</h2> <p>Med API kan du lage spørringer som henter oppdaterte tall. Det er mer avansert og fleksibelt enn "lagret spørring" i Statistikkbanken.</p> <p>Det du henter ut kan du behandle og tilpasse slik at det vises på en nettside eller et dashboard som nøkkeltall eller tabell.
