if not, afterwards cut it down.<Fr><p> <A name="11"></a><p class="hdg">Jesus Heals a Disabled Woman<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And when He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath-<i>day,</i> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>there was a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and utterly unable to lift herself upright. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And when Jesus saw her, He called <i>her</i> to <i>Him,</i> and said to her, <FR>Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.<Fr> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And He laid his hands upon her; and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>But the ruler of the synagogue, being provoked that Jesus had wrought a cure on the sabbath-day, said to the people, There are six days in which <i>ye</i> ought to work; on these therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath-day. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>The Lord therefore answered him and said, <i>Thou</i><FR> hypocrite, does not any of you on the sabbath loose his ox or <Fr><i>his</i><FR> ass from the stall and lead <Fr><i>him</i><FR> away to watering?<Fr> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><FR>And might not this <Fr><i>woman,</i><FR> a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound <Fr><i>these</i><FR> eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath-day?<Fr> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Upon his saying this, all his adversaries were ashamed: but the people rejoiced for all the glorious <i>things that were</i> done by Him.<p> <A name="19"></a><p class="hdg">The Parable of the Mustard Seed<br /><span class="cross">(<a href ="../matthew/13.htm#31">Matthew 13:31–32</a>; for I tell you, many will desire to enter in, and shall not be able.<Fr> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/13-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><FR>When the master of the house shall have risen up and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without and knock at the door saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us;
