right at the beginning of WWI when Kptlt. <a href="/wwi/men/commanders/390.html">Otto Weddigen</a> in his small <a href="/wwi/boats/?boat=9">U-9</a> sank 3 British cruisers in less than hour on 22 Sep 1914.
