Real-time visualization is achieved with LOD optimization based on the distance from the observer without loss of quality. The filtering process is done in two steps and is entirely executed on the GPU and implemented using programmable shaders. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=filtering" title="filtering">filtering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graphics" title=" graphics"> graphics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=level-of-details" title=" level-of-details"> level-of-details</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=LiDAR" title=" LiDAR"> LiDAR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20visualization" title=" real-time visualization"> real-time visualization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16857/real-time-visualization-using-gpu-accelerated-filtering-of-lidar-data" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16857.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">308</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25404</span> Simulation Data Summarization Based on Spatial Histograms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jing%20Zhao">Jing Zhao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiharu%20Ishikawa"> Yoshiharu Ishikawa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chuan%20Xiao"> Chuan Xiao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kento%20Sugiura"> Kento Sugiura</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In order to analyze large-scale scientific data, research on data exploration and visualization has gained popularity. In this paper, we focus on the exploration and visualization of scientific simulation data, and define a spatial V-Optimal histogram for data summarization. We propose histogram construction algorithms based on a general binary hierarchical partitioning as well as a more specific one, the l-grid partitioning. For effective data summarization and efficient data visualization in scientific data analysis, we propose an optimal algorithm as well as a heuristic algorithm for histogram construction. To verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed methods, we conduct experiments on the massive evacuation simulation data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simulation%20data" title="simulation data">simulation data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20summarization" title=" data summarization"> data summarization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spatial%20histograms" title=" spatial histograms"> spatial histograms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exploration" title=" exploration"> exploration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization" title=" visualization"> visualization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/98571/simulation-data-summarization-based-on-spatial-histograms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/98571.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">176</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25403</span> Design and Development of Bar Graph Data Visualization in 2D and 3D Space Using Front-End Technologies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sourabh%20Yaduvanshi">Sourabh Yaduvanshi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Varsha%20Namdeo"> Varsha Namdeo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Namrata%20Yaduvanshi"> Namrata Yaduvanshi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study delves into the design and development intricacies of crafting detailed 2D bar charts via d3.js, recognizing its limitations in generating 3D visuals within the Document Object Model (DOM). The proposed method is an extension for proximity-based coloring that suffers from a few undesired side effects if hierarchical tree structure is not balanced tree. We describe the algorithm by assigning colors based on dissimilarity information, show the application of proposed method on three commonly used datasets, and compare the results with proximity-based coloring. We found our proposed method to be especially beneficial for symbolic data visualization where many individual objects have already been aggregated into a single symbolic object. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20visualization" title="data visualization">data visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dissimilarity-based%20coloring" title=" dissimilarity-based coloring"> dissimilarity-based coloring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proximity-based%20coloring" title=" proximity-based coloring"> proximity-based coloring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=symbolic%20data" title=" symbolic data"> symbolic data</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92191/dissimilarity-based-coloring-for-symbolic-and-multivariate-data-visualization" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92191.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">170</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25398</span> Exploring the Landscape of Information Visualization through a Mark Lombardi Lens</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alon%20Friedman">Alon Friedman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Antonio%20Sanchez%20Chinchon"> Antonio Sanchez Chinchon</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This bibliometric study takes an artistic and storytelling approach to explore the term ”information visualization.” Analyzing over 1008 titles collected from databases that specialize in data visualization research, we examine the titles of these publications to report on the characteristics and development trends in the field. However, it is computationally inefficient to solve a semi-definite programming (SDP) when the sample size is large. Therefore, it is not applicable to single-cell RNA-seq data with thousands of samples. In this paper, we develop an efficient algorithm with an accelerated proximal gradient method and visualize the single-cell RNA-seq data efficiently. We demonstrate that the proposed approach separates known subpopulations more accurately in single-cell data sets than other existing dimension reduction methods. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single-cell%20RNA-seq" title="single-cell RNA-seq">single-cell RNA-seq</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=minimum%20volume%20embedding" title=" minimum volume embedding"> minimum volume embedding</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization" title=" visualization"> visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=accelerated%20proximal%20gradient%20method" title=" accelerated proximal gradient method"> accelerated proximal gradient method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75071/single-cell-visualization-with-minimum-volume-embedding" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75071.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">228</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25395</span> Flow Visualization in Biological Complex Geometries for Personalized Medicine</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carlos%20Escobar-del%20Pozo">Carlos Escobar-del Pozo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C%C3%A9sar%20Ahumada-Monroy"> César Ahumada-Monroy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azael%20Garc%C3%ADa-Rebolledo"> Azael García-Rebolledo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alberto%20Brambila-Sol%C3%B3rzano"> Alberto Brambila-Solórzano</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gregorio%20Mart%C3%ADnez-S%C3%A1nchez"> Gregorio Martínez-Sánchez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luis%20Ortiz-Rinc%C3%B3n"> Luis Ortiz-Rincón</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Numerical simulations of flow in complex biological structures have gained considerable attention in the last years. The algorithms are very similar and follow almost the same procedure but with different parameters. Both algorithms assign angular coordinates for all nodes which are then converted into 2D Cartesian coordinates for visualization. The way personal health information is visualized may affect how users perceive and assess their personal health information. This study was conducted to examine the effects of information visualization format and visualization mode on the comprehension and perceptions of personal health information among personal health information users with eye tracking techniques. A two-factor within-subjects experimental design was employed, where participants were instructed to complete a series of personal health information comprehension tasks under varied types of visualization mode (i.e., whether the information visualization is static or dynamic) and three visualization formats (i.e., bar graph, instrument-like graph, and text-only format). Data on a set of measures, including comprehension performance, perceptions, and eye movement indicators, were collected during the task completion in the experiment. Repeated measure analysis of variance analyses (RM-ANOVAs) was used for data analysis. The results showed that while the visualization format yielded no effects on comprehension performance, it significantly affected users’ perceptions (such as perceived ease of use and satisfaction). The two graphic visualizations yielded significantly higher favorable scores on subjective evaluations than that of the text format. While visualization mode showed no effects on users’ perception measures, it significantly affected users' comprehension performance in that dynamic visualization significantly reduced users' information search time. Both visualization format and visualization mode had significant main effects on eye movement behaviors, and their interaction effects were also significant. While the bar graph format and text format had similar time to first fixation across dynamic and static visualizations, instrument-like graph format had a larger time to first fixation for dynamic visualization than for static visualization. The two graphic visualization formats yielded shorter total fixation duration compared with the text-only format, indicating their ability to improve information comprehension efficiency. The results suggest that dynamic visualization can improve efficiency in comprehending important health information, and graphic visualization formats were favored more by users. The findings are helpful in the underlying comprehension mechanism of visualized personal health information and provide important implications for optimal design and visualization of personal health information. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eye%20tracking" title="eye tracking">eye tracking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=information%20comprehension" title=" information comprehension"> information comprehension</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=personal%20health%20information" title=" personal health information"> personal health information</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization" title=" visualization"> visualization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166965/mechanisms-underlying-comprehension-of-visualized-personal-health-information-an-eye-tracking-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166965.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">108</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25391</span> Anomaly Detection of Log Analysis using Data Visualization Techniques for Digital Forensics Audit and Investigation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Fadzlee%20Sulaiman">Mohamed Fadzlee Sulaiman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zainurrasyid%20Abdullah"> Zainurrasyid Abdullah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohd%20Zabri%20Adil%20Talib"> Mohd Zabri Adil Talib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aswami%20Fadillah%20Mohd%20Ariffin"> Aswami Fadillah Mohd Ariffin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In common digital forensics cases, investigation may rely on the analysis conducted on specific and relevant exhibits involved. Usually the investigation officer may define and advise digital forensic analyst about the goals and objectives to be achieved in reconstructing the trail of evidence while maintaining the specific scope of investigation. With the technology growth, people are starting to realize the importance of cyber security to their organization and this new perspective creates awareness that digital forensics auditing must come in place in order to measure possible threat or attack to their cyber-infrastructure. Instead of performing investigation on incident basis, auditing may broaden the scope of investigation to the level of anomaly detection in daily operation of organization’s cyber space. While handling a huge amount of data such as log files, performing digital forensics audit for large organization proven to be onerous task for the analyst either to analyze the huge files or to translate the findings in a way where the stakeholder can clearly understand. Data visualization can be emphasized in conducting digital forensic audit and investigation to resolve both needs. This study will identify the important factors that should be considered to perform data visualization techniques in order to detect anomaly that meet the digital forensic audit and investigation objectives. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=digital%20forensic" title="digital forensic">digital forensic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20visualization" title=" data visualization"> data visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anomaly%20detection" title=" anomaly detection "> anomaly detection </a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=log%20analysis" title=" log analysis"> log analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=forensic%20audit" title=" forensic audit"> forensic audit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization%20techniques" title=" visualization techniques"> visualization techniques</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89574/anomaly-detection-of-log-analysis-using-data-visualization-techniques-for-digital-forensics-audit-and-investigation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/89574.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">287</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25390</span> Modified InVEST for Whatsapp Messages Forensic Triage and Search through Visualization</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Agria%20Rhamdhan">Agria Rhamdhan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> WhatsApp as the most popular mobile messaging app has been used as evidence in many criminal cases. That way, analyze large sets of mobile messaging data will take a lot of time and effort. Our work offers methodologies based on forensic triage to reduce large data to manageable sets resulting easier to do detailed reviews, then show the results through interactive visualization to show important term, entities and relationship through intelligent ranking using Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) Model. But current open data platforms have not yet reached to their full potential in supporting all interested parties. To make the data useful and understandable for everyone, scholars suggested that opening the data should be supplemented by visualization. However, different visualizations of the same information can dramatically change an individual’s cognitive and emotional experience in working with the data. This study reviews the data visualization literature to create a list of the methods empirically tested to enhance users’ performance and experience in working with a visualization tool. This list can be used in evaluating the OGD visualization practices and informing the future open data initiatives. Methods: Previous reviews of visualization literature categorized the visualization outcomes into four categories including recall/memorability, insight/comprehension, engagement, and enjoyment. To identify the papers, a search for these outcomes was conducted in the abstract of the publications of top-tier visualization venues including IEEE Transactions for Visualization and Computer Graphics, Computer Graphics, and proceedings of the CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. The search results are complemented with a search in the references of the identified articles, and a search for 'open data visualization,' and 'visualization evaluation' keywords in the IEEE explore and ACM digital libraries. Articles are included if they provide empirical evidence through conducting controlled user experiments, or provide a review of these empirical studies. The qualitative synthesis of the studies focuses on identification and classifying the methods, and the conditions under which they are examined to positively affect the visualization outcomes. Findings: The keyword search yields 760 studies, of which 30 are included after the title/abstract review. The classification of the included articles shows five distinct methods: interactive design, aesthetic (artistic) style, storytelling, decorative elements that do not provide extra information including text, image, and embellishment on the graphs), and animation. Studies on decorative elements show consistency on the positive effects of these elements on user engagement and recall but are less consistent in their examination of the user performance. This inconsistency could be attributable to the particular data type or specific design method used in each study. The interactive design studies are consistent in their findings of the positive effect on the outcomes. Storytelling studies show some inconsistencies regarding the design effect on user engagement, enjoyment, recall, and performance, which could be indicative of the specific conditions required for the use of this method. Last two methods, aesthetics and animation, have been less frequent in the included articles, and provide consistent positive results on some of the outcomes. Implications for e-government: Review of the visualization best-practice methods show that each of these methods is beneficial under specific conditions. By using these methods in a potentially beneficial condition, OGD practices can promote a wide range of individuals to involve and work with the government data and ultimately engage in government policy-making procedures. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=best%20practices" title="best practices">best practices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20visualization" title=" data visualization"> data visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=literature%20review" title=" literature review"> literature review</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=open%20government%20data" title=" open government data"> open government data</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112467/a-review-of-data-visualization-best-practices-lessons-for-open-government-data-portals" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112467.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">105</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25387</span> BlueVision: A Visual Tool for Exploring a Blockchain Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jett%20Black">Jett Black</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jordyn%20Godsey"> Jordyn Godsey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gaby%20G.%20Dagher"> Gaby G. To address these limitations, it is imperative to develop data visualizations that offer not only comprehensive insights into these domains but education as well. This research focuses on providing a conceptual understanding of the consensus process that underlies blockchain technology. This is accomplished through the implementation of a dynamic network visualization and an interactive educational tool called BlueVision. Further, a controlled user study is conducted to measure the effectiveness and usability of BlueVision. Recently, advancements are being made in these techniques by providing the ability of multi-level mining, effective dimension reduction, advanced evaluation and visualization support. This paper focuses on reviewing the current techniques in literature on the basis of these parameters. Literature review suggests that most of the techniques which provide multi-level mining and dimension reduction, do not handle mixed-type data during the process. Patterns are not extracted using advanced algorithms for large datasets. Moreover, the evaluation of patterns is not done using advanced measures which are suited for high-dimensional data. Techniques which provide visualization support are unable to handle a large number of rules in a small space. We present a theoretical model to handle these issues. The implementation of the model is beyond the scope of this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=association%20rule%20mining" title="association rule mining">association rule mining</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20mining" title=" data mining"> data mining</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20warehouses" title=" data warehouses"> data warehouses</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=visualization%20of%20association%20rules" title=" visualization of association rules"> visualization of association rules</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80180/a-theoretical-model-for-pattern-extraction-in-large-datasets" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80180.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">223</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25385</span> Microarray Data Visualization and Preprocessing Using R and Bioconductor</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ruchi%20Yadav">Ruchi Yadav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shivani%20Pandey"> Shivani Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Prachi%20Srivastava"> Prachi Srivastava</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Microarrays provide a rich source of data on the molecular working of cells. Each microarray reports on the abundance of tens of thousands of mRNAs. Virtually every human disease is being studied using microarrays with the hope of finding the molecular mechanisms of disease. Bioinformatics analysis plays an important part of processing the information embedded in large-scale expression profiling studies and for laying the foundation for biological interpretation. A basic, yet challenging task in the analysis of microarray gene expression data is the identification of changes in gene expression that are associated with particular biological conditions. Careful statistical design and analysis are essential to improve the efficiency and reliability of microarray experiments throughout the data acquisition and analysis process. One of the most popular platforms for microarray analysis is Bioconductor, an open source and open development software project based on the R programming language. Som, as an artificial neural network, is particularly suited for pattern recognition and data classification, making it highly effective for the complex and variable nature of credit card transaction data. By analyzing transaction characteristics with SOM, the research identifies abnormal transaction patterns that could indicate potentially fraudulent activities. Moreover, this study has developed a specialized visualization tool to intuitively present the relationships between SOM analysis outcomes and transaction data, aiding financial institution personnel in quickly identifying and responding to potential fraud, thereby reducing financial losses. Additionally, the research explores the integration of SOM technology with composite intelligent system technologies (including finite state machines, fuzzy logic, and decision trees) to further improve fraud detection accuracy. This multimodal approach provides a comprehensive perspective for identifying and understanding various types of fraud within credit card transactions. In summary, by integrating SOM technology with visualization tools and composite intelligent system technologies, this research offers a more effective method of fraud detection for the financial industry, not only enhancing detection accuracy but also deepening the overall understanding of fraudulent activities. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=self-organizing%20map%20technology" title="self-organizing map technology">self-organizing map technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fraud%20detection" title=" fraud detection"> fraud detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=information%20visualization" title=" information visualization"> information visualization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20analysis" title=" data analysis"> data analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=composite%20intelligent%20system%20technologies" title=" composite intelligent system technologies"> composite intelligent system technologies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decision%20support%20technologies" title=" decision support technologies"> decision support technologies</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183172/self-organizing-maps-for-credit-card-fraud-detection-and-visualization" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183172.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">59</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25381</span> Factory Virtual Environment Development for Augmented and Virtual Reality</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Michal%20Gregor">Michal Gregor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jiri%20Polcar"> Jiri Polcar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Petr%20Horejsi"> Petr Horejsi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Michal%20Simon"> Michal Simon</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Machine visualization is an area of interest with fast and progressive development. Change in the frequency domain characteristics are correlated with change in mental state of the subject under study. Proposed algorithm provides a way to represent the change in the mental states using the different frequency band powers in form of segmented EEG signal. Many segmentation algorithms have been suggested in literature having application in brain computer interface, epilepsy and cognition studies that have been used for data classification. But the proposed method focusses mainly on the better presentation of signal and that’s why it could be a good utilization tool for clinician. Algorithm performs the basic filtering using band pass and notch filters in the range of 0.1-45 Hz. Advanced filtering is then performed by principal component analysis and wavelet transform based de-noising method. Frequency domain features are used for segmentation; considering the fact that the spectrum power of different frequency bands describes the mental state of the subject. Two sliding windows are further used for segmentation; one provides the time scale and other assigns the segmentation rule. The segmented data is displayed second by second successively with different color codes. Segment’s length can be selected as per need of the objective. Proposed algorithm has been tested on the EEG data set obtained from University of California in San Diego’s online data repository. Proposed tool gives a better visualization of the signal in form of segmented epochs of desired length representing the power spectrum variation in data. The algorithm is designed in such a way that it takes the data points with respect to the sampling frequency for each time frame and so it can be improved to use in real time visualization with desired epoch length. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=de-noising" title="de-noising">de-noising</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-channel%20data" title=" multi-channel data"> multi-channel data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PCA" title=" PCA"> PCA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=power%20spectra" title=" power spectra"> power spectra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=segmentation" title=" segmentation"> segmentation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37186/visualization-tool-for-eeg-signal-segmentation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37186.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">397</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25377</span> Visualizing Class Metrics and Object Calls for Software Systems</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Alnabhan">Mohammad Alnabhan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Awni%20Hammouri"> Awni Hammouri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mustafa%20Hammad"> Mustafa Hammad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anas%20Al-Badareen"> Anas Al-Badareen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Omamah%20Al-Thnebat"> Omamah Al-Thnebat</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Software visualization is one of the main techniques used to simplify the presentation of software systems and enhance their understandability.
