bridegroom: and five of them were wise,<Fr> <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span><FR>and five <Fr><i>were</i><FR> foolish.<Fr> <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span><FR>The foolish <Fr><i>ones</i><FR> took their lamps, and took no oil with them:<Fr> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span><FR>but the wise took oil in their vessels as well as in their lamps.<Fr> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><FR>and in the middle of the night there was a cry, The bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him.<Fr> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a the foolish <Fr><i>ones</i><FR> said to the wise, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out:<Fr> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><FR>but the wise answered <Fr><i>them,</i><FR> saying, Least there should not be enough for us and you, go rather to them that sell <Fr><i>it,</i><FR> and buy for yourselves.<Fr> <A name="11"></a><span href="/matthew/25-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><FR>For as a man, <Fr><i>who was</i><FR> going to travel abroad, called his servants, and delivered to them his stock: and to one he gave five talents,<Fr> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><FR>to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability: and then he took his journey.<Fr> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><FR>Now he that had received the five talents, went and traded with them, and gained other five oughtest then to have put my money to the bankers, and when I came I should have received my own with interest.<Fr> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><FR>Take <Fr><i>ye</i><FR> therefore the talent from him, and give <Fr><i>it</i><FR> to him that hath the ten talents;<Fr><p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><FR>(for to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound; but from him that hath not, even what he hath, <Fr><i>or seemeth <Fr><i>where</i><FR> there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.<Fr><p> <A name="32"></a><p class="hdg">The Sheep and the Goats<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><FR>So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:<Fr> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><FR>and all nations shall be assembled before Him; and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats:<Fr> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><FR>and He shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on <Fr><i>his</i><FR> left.<Fr><p> <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><FR>Then will the king say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:<Fr> <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><FR>for I was famishing, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;<Fr> <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span><i>I was</i><FR> naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye took care of me; I was in prison, and ye visited me.<Fr> <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span><FR>Then will the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed <Fr><i>thee?</i><FR> or thirsty, and gave thee drink?<Fr> <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-38.htm"><b>38</b></a></span><FR>and when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in?<Fr> <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-39.htm"><b>39</b></a></span><FR>or naked, and clothed thee? and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and visited thee?<Fr> <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-40.htm"><b>40</b></a></span><FR>And the king replying will say unto them, Verily I declare unto you, inasmuch as ye did it to one of the lest of these my brethren, ye did it to me.<Fr><p> <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-41.htm"><b>41</b></a></span><FR>Then will He say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:<Fr> <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-42.htm"><b>42</b></a></span><FR>for I was famishing, and ye gave me not<Fr><i>hing</i><FR> to eat; I was a-thirst, and ye gave me no drink;<Fr> <A name="44"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-43.htm"><b>43</b></a></span><FR>I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye took no care of me.<Fr> <A name="45"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-44.htm"><b>44</b></a></span><FR>Then will they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee famishing, or a-thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not relieve thee?<Fr> <A name="46"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/25-45.htm"><b>45</b></a></span><FR>Then will He reply to them, saying, Verily I tell you, inasmuch as ye did <Fr><i>it</i><FR> not to one of the lest of these, ye did <Fr><i>it</i><FR>
