The Society has pooled a number of its members with both knowledge in paleontology and fossils and experience in teaching/talking to groups. These include paleontologists and expert amateurs who have studied and collected in areas around New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the Northeast, and others who have worked on excavations of dinosaurs and mammals in the American and Canadian West. Our speakers also include scientists who have studied and lectured in many topics ranging from the geology of greater the New York/New Jersey area to topics in evolutionary biology and paleoecology. The Society will attempt to match requests for lectures/presentations from schools and groups in N.Y.C. , Northern New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester with available speakers. The topics we are confident to present are wide ranging. These include an introduction to paleontology and fossils, dinosaurs, human evolution, evolution, local geology and plate tectonics, as well as talks on particular fossil sites in the Northeast and beyond, and more. They can be geared to Elementary, High School or even Undergraduate levels, as well as to interested lay people. The Society's extensive fossil slide collection will be available to our speakers, as will example specimens depending on the topic.
