Minor cost issues can be addressed over time. Focus on all the people and providers helped. In this case, paying providers commercial rates, rather than Medicaid rates is what is driving the cost overruns. We don't have to do it just like Ark. We can and should learn from their challenges, but doing nothing in Texas is not the answer. Isn't that about the cost of one of your lunches by the capitol? One can find fault with anything if you try.<br/><br/>Christ says we're to care for the poor, the least among us. How would the overage of $12 breakdown per Texas taxpayer over the fiscal year? Did you ever consider the cost would diminish as unhealthy individuals become taxpayers because of proper treatment? The cost of expanding Medicaid might amount to a buck a month per Texan. Is that too much to pay to save lives? <br/><br/>The senator, a physician, comes from one of the richest ranching families in the county. Yeah, I know it's not about cost, you have a philosophical issue about how taxpayer money is spent. How much are we taxpayers giving billionaires Red McCombs or Jerry Jones a year in money to subsidize their Formula 1 racetrack or Cowboy stadium? In the meantime, people are dying early because they lack access to proper healthcare.
