James's Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, discusses the results of the POETS Study, a pan-European observational study of the natural history of syphilis and its response to treatment. Rowley and colleagues observed distinct variations both in the presentation of the disease and in its acquisition across the three countries participating in the study — Poland, Germany and Ireland.
