for God<MG2316> will judge<MG2919> the sexually<MG4205> immoral<MG4205> and adulterers<MG3432>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span><i>Make sure that</i> your character<MG5158> is free<MG866> from<MG866> the<MG866> love<MG866> of<MG866> money<MG866>, being content<MG714> with what you have<MG3918b>; for He Himself<MG846> has said<MG3004>, “I WILL NEVER<MG3756, 3361> DESERT<MG447> YOU, NOR<MG3761> WILL I EVER<MG3756, 3361> ABANDON<MG1459> YOU,” <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>so<MG5620> that<MG5620> we confidently<MG2292> say<MG3004>, <p class="indent1stline">“THE LORD<MG2962> IS MY HELPER<MG998>, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID<MG5399>. <t><p class="indent1">WHAT<MG5101> WILL MAN<MG444> DO<MG4160> TO ME?” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Remember<MG3421> those<MG3588> who led<MG2233> you, who<MG3748> spoke<MG2980> the word<MG3056> of God<MG2316> to you; and considering<MG333> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>result<MG1545> of their way<MG391> of<MG391> life<MG391>, imitate<MG3401> their faith<MG4102>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547> <i>is</i> the same<MG846> yesterday<MG2189a> and today<MG4594>, and forever<MG165>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Do not be misled<MG3911> by varied<MG4164> and strange<MG3581> teachings<MG1322>; for it is good<MG2570> for the heart<MG2588> to be strengthened<MG950> by grace<MG5485>, not by foods<MG1033>, through<MG1722> which<MG3739> those<MG3588> who <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>were so<MG4043> occupied<MG4043> were not benefited<MG5623>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>We have<MG2192> an altar<MG2379> from which<MG3739> those<MG3588> who serve<MG3000> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>tabernacle<MG4633> have<MG2192> no<MG3756> right<MG1849> to eat<MG2068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>For the bodies<MG4983> of those<MG3778> animals<MG2226> whose<MG3739> blood<MG129> is brought<MG1533> into the Holy<MG40> Place<MG40> by the high<MG749> priest<MG749> <i>as an offering</i> for sin<MG266> are burned<MG2618> outside<MG1854> the camp<MG3925b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Therefore<MG1352> Jesus<MG2424> also<MG2532> suffered<MG3958> outside<MG1854> the gate<MG4439>, that He might sanctify<MG37> the people<MG2992> through<MG1223> His own<MG2398> blood<MG129>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>So<MG5106> then<MG5106>, let us go<MG1831> out<MG1831> to Him outside<MG1854> the camp<MG3925b>, bearing<MG5342> His reproach<MG3680>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>For here<MG5602> we do not have<MG2192> a lasting<MG3306> city<MG4172>, but we are seeking<MG1934> <i>the city</i> which is to<MG3195> come<MG3195>. <p class="hdg">God-pleasing Sacrifices</p><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>Through<MG1223> Him then<MG3767>, let’s continually<MG1223, 3956> offer<MG399> up<MG399> a sacrifice<MG2378> of praise<MG133> to God<MG2316>, that is, the fruit<MG2590> of lips<MG5491> praising<MG3670> His name<MG3686>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And do not neglect<MG1950> doing<MG2140> good<MG2140> and sharing<MG2842>, for with such<MG5108> sacrifices<MG2378> God<MG2316> is pleased<MG2100>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Obey<MG3982> your leaders<MG2233> and submit<MG5226> <i>to them</i>—for they keep<MG69> watch<MG69> over<MG5228> your souls<MG5590> as those who will give<MG591> an account<MG3056>—so<MG2443> that<MG2443> they may do<MG4160> this<MG3778> with joy<MG5479>, not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>groaning<MG4727>; for this<MG3778> <i>would be</i> unhelpful<MG255> for you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Pray<MG4336> for us, for we are<MG3982> sure<MG3982> that we have<MG2192> a good<MG2570> conscience<MG4893>, desiring<MG2309> to conduct<MG390> ourselves honorably<MG2573> in all<MG3956> things<MG3956>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And I urge<MG3870> <i>you</i> all<MG4056> the<MG4056> more<MG4056> to do<MG4160> this<MG3778>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> I may be restored<MG600> to you more<MG5036> quickly<MG5036>. <p class="hdg">Benediction</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> may the God<MG2316> of peace<MG1515>, who brought<MG321> up<MG321> from the dead<MG3498> the great<MG3173> Shepherd<MG4166> of the sheep<MG4263b> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>through<MG1722> the blood<MG129> of the eternal<MG166> covenant<MG1242>, <i>that is,</i> Jesus<MG2424> our Lord<MG2962>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/hebrews/13-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>equip<MG2675> you in every<MG3956> good<MG18> thing<MG18> to do<MG4160> His will<MG2307>, working<MG4160> in us that which is pleasing<MG2101> in<MG1799> His sight<MG1799>, through<MG1223> Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>, to whom<MG3739> <i>be</i> the glory<MG1391> forever<MG165> and ever<MG165>.
