class="spamspan"><span class="u">firstname.lastname</span> [at] <span class="d">mail.mcgill.ca</span></span>) is the official way the University communicates with you by email. The McGill email service gives you a 50 GB mailbox on Microsoft Office 365. You can access your email via the myMcGill portal or directly through the Office 365 Outlook Web App (OWA) at <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/https://outlook.com/mcgill.ca">https://outlook.com/mcgill.ca</a>. Sign in using your McGill Username and McGill Password.</p> <p><strong>Email on mobile devices</strong>: You can get your McGill email delivered to an <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://kb.mcgill.ca/it/easylink/article.html?id=1135" target="_blank">iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch</a> or many other Exchange-capable smartphones.</p> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://kb.mcgill.ca/it/wireless" target="_blank"><strong>Wireless coverage</strong></a>: Students have access to a secure wireless network on the downtown and Macdonald campuses and in every student residence at McGill.</p> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://kb.mcgill.ca/it/vpn" target="_blank"><strong>Virtual Private Network (VPN)</strong></a>: Connecting to McGill's VPN allows you to access campus-restricted systems from anywhere, so you can continue your research and study. In addition, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://scholar.google.com/intl/en/scholar/about.html">Google Scholar</a> collaborates with the Library to offer students direct access to journals and other documentation.</p> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://www.mcgill.ca/directory/students/"><strong>McGill Student Directory</strong></a>: Students can choose to opt into the McGill Student Directory. Choose whether to display your email and/or telephone information to the world or only to the McGill community.</p> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20170830181108/http://kb.mcgill.ca/it/rez" target="_blank"><strong>Residences Telecommunications (REZ)</strong></a>: REZ wireless service is included as part of the lodging fee ($45 per month). Any McGill student, faculty or staff member can access the wpa.rez.mcgill.ca wifi network by signing in with their McGill Username and McGill Password. Note that wired connectivity is no longer supported in residences, even if a wall jack is present in the room.</p> <p>McGill does not provide telephone service in McGill residence rooms.
