projections of digital models in the real world for the purpose of visualization, demonstration, and education. It has been applied to education, fields of prototyping in product design, development of medical models, battle strategy in the military and many other fields. Our Engineering Design and Innovation (EDAI) project focuses on the usage of augmented reality, visual mapping, and 3d-visualization along with animation and text boxes to help students in fields of education get a rough idea of the concepts such as flow and mechanical movements that may be hard to visualize at first glance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spatial%20mapping" title="spatial mapping">spatial mapping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ARKit" title=" ARKit"> ARKit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=depth%20sensing" title=" depth sensing"> depth sensing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20rendering" title=" real-time rendering"> real-time rendering</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/177319/learn-through-ar-augmented-reality" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/177319.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">63</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> Modified Fe₃O₄ Nanoparticles for Electrochemical Sensing of Heavy Metal Ions Pb²⁺, Hg²⁺, and Cd²⁺ in Water</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Megha">Megha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diksha"> Diksha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seema%20Rani"> Seema Rani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Balwinder%20Kaur"> Balwinder Kaur</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Harminder%20Kaur"> Harminder Kaur</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@SB functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized and used to detect heavy metal ions such as Pb²⁺, Hg²⁺, and Cd²⁺ in water. The formation of Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@SB nanocatalyst was confirmed by XRD, SEM, TEM, and IR. The simultaneous determination of analyte cations was carried out using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). Investigation and optimisation were done to study how experimental variables affected the performance of the modified magnetic electrode. Pb²⁺, Hg²⁺, and Cd²⁺ were successfully detected using the designed sensor in the presence of various possibly interfering ions. The recovery rate was found to be 97.5% for Pb²⁺, 96.2% for Hg²⁺, 103.5% for Cd²⁺. The electrochemical sensor was also employed to determine the presence of heavy metal ions in drinking water samples, which are well below the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetic%20nanoparticles" title="magnetic nanoparticles">magnetic nanoparticles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heavy%20metal%20ions" title=" heavy metal ions"> heavy metal ions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrochemical%20sensor" title=" electrochemical sensor"> electrochemical sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environmental%20water%20samples" title=" environmental water samples"> environmental water samples</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172188/modified-fe3o4-nanoparticles-for-electrochemical-sensing-of-heavy-metal-ions-pb2-hg2-and-cd2-in-water" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172188.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">79</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Temperament and Psychopathology in Children of Patients Suffering from Schizophrenia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rushi%20Naaz">Rushi Naaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diksha%20Suchdeva"> Diksha Suchdeva</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Temperament is a very important aspect of functioning that needs to be understood in children of patients suffering from schizophrenia. The children of parents with mental disorder have substantially increased risk of psychiatric illness in them and may exhibit a range of problems from minor variations in temperament and adjustment to manifest psychiatric disorder. Method: A case control study was conducted to study the temperament characteristics and psychopathology in children of patients suffering from schizophrenia as compared to those of healthy controls. Both the groups were evaluated on Temperament Measurement Schedule and Childhood Psychopathology Measurement Schedule. Results: The results showed that children of patients suffering from schizophrenia were withdrawing, less adaptable, less sociable and had lower activity level than children of healthy parents. However, on the measure of psychopathology, no significant difference was found. Conclusion: Since temperament can be identified at an early age, children at risk for the disorder later on could be identified early enough for possible primary intervention. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=children" title="children">children</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=childhood%20psychopathology" title=" childhood psychopathology"> childhood psychopathology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parental%20psychopathology" title=" parental psychopathology"> parental psychopathology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=psychiatric%20disorders" title=" psychiatric disorders"> psychiatric disorders</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=schizophrenia" title=" schizophrenia"> schizophrenia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=temperament" title=" temperament"> temperament</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42614/temperament-and-psychopathology-in-children-of-patients-suffering-from-schizophrenia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42614.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">372</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Woman: Her Identity and Strive for Existence Reflected English Literature</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diksha%20Kadam">Diksha Kadam</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The study of images of women in literature and women writers has been a significant area of concern for the last four decades because it is as ‘the study of signification and meaning production’ play a vital role in shaping the perceptions and consciousness of various segment of society in relation to the lives, roles, problems and experiences of different categories of women as women and as autonomous citizen of society. In the history of worlds English literature the status of women and representation of her in the writings is an issue of discussion always. The essence of her existence in the literature is felt; the ecstasy of her feelings is always seen. The literature is full of facts and figures. She is one of them. Her contribution to the literature is undoubtedly a beginning of a new era. Multiple challenges and multiple identities as represented in majority of the literary texts and in real provide much hope and assurance to the new generation of mothers and daughters in the direction of transformation of the individual and collective consciousness of society paving way for the emergence of an actually empowered new woman. This paper will focus on some of the prominent Indian and American women writers in English literature and the various dimensions of her image through some of the prominent works. This attempt of mine will be merely a salute to those women who have struggled to prove their identity as one of the members of society. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=role%20of%20women%E2%80%99s%20writing" title="role of women’s writing">role of women’s writing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20era" title=" new era"> new era</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=contribution%20to%20the%20literature" title=" contribution to the literature"> contribution to the literature</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=consciousness" title=" consciousness"> consciousness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=existence" title=" existence"> existence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23445/woman-her-identity-and-strive-for-existence-reflected-english-literature" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23445.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">402</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Integrated Approach to Reduce Intimate Partner Violence and Improve Mental Health among Pregnant Women: Mixed-Method Study from Nepal</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diksha%20Sapkota">Diksha Sapkota</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kathleen%20Baird"> Kathleen Baird</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amornrat%20%20Saito"> Amornrat Saito</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Debra%20Anderson"> Debra Anderson</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Violence during pregnancy is global public health problem incurring huge amount of social, economic and human costs. It is of particular concern as it affects health of mother, neonates and also disrupt family functioning. Mental illness is one of its commonest consequences affecting both mother and baby and likely to be chronic if left unattended. Past decade has seen advances in knowledge about different forms of violence, its health impacts and intervention/s helping to confront the violence. However, limited range and lack of consistency in measurable outcomes undermine overall effect of interventions, and available evidence are largely slanted towards high-income countries. Despite recognition of integrating screening and counselling for abused pregnant women in health settings, there is a dearth of evidence on its effectiveness from developing countries limiting its applicability and feasibility. This study intends to summarise the high-quality evidence on intimate partner violence interventions in reducing violence and improving mental health and implement the promising intervention in our context. Methods: Quantitative systematic review will be done using PRISMA statement and based on its finding; randomised controlled intervention will be carried out. The study will be conducted among women attending ANC clinic of Dhulikhel Hospital, Nepal. Being the pilot study, samples just adequate to draw the inferences i.e. not less than 30 in each arm will be taken. Phenomological approach will be used to explore the strengths and weaknesses of tested intervention and recommendations for better planning in future. Conclusion: This study intends to provide concrete evidence on what works best in our context and will assist policymakers, programme planners, donors in informed decision making. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intimate%20partner%20violence%2Fprevention%20and%20control" title="intimate partner violence/prevention and control">intimate partner violence/prevention and control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mental%20health" title=" mental health"> mental health</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nepal" title=" Nepal"> Nepal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pregnant" title=" pregnant"> pregnant</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75234/integrated-approach-to-reduce-intimate-partner-violence-and-improve-mental-health-among-pregnant-women-mixed-method-study-from-nepal" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75234.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">261</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Hydroponic Cultivation Enhances the Morpho-Physiological Traits and Quality Flower Production in Tagetes patula L</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ujala">Ujala</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diksha%20Sharma"> Diksha Sharma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahinder%20Partap"> Mahinder Partap</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ashish%20R.%20Warghat"> Ashish R. Therefore, for the first time, the current investigation corroborates the effect of different cultivation conditions (open-field, poly-house, and hydroponic) on morpho-physiological traits, phenolic content, and essential oil components analysis in three flower color variants (yellow, scarlet red, and orange) of Tagetes patula. The results revealed that the maximum plant height, number of secondary branches, number of flowers, photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, and transpiration rate were observed under the hydroponic system as compared to other conditions. However, the maximum content of gallic acid (0.82 mg/g DW), syringic acid (3.98 mg/g DW), epicatechin (0.48 mg/g DW), p-coumaric acid (7.28 mg/g DW), protocatechuic acid (0.59 mg/g DW), ferulic acid (2.58 mg/g DW), and luteolin (8.24 mg/g DW) were quantified maximally under open-field conditions. However, under hydroponic conditions, the higher content of vanillic acid (0.43 mg/g DW), caffeic acid (0.49 mg/g DW), and quercetin (0.92 mg/g DW) were quantified. Moreover, a total of nineteen volatile components were identified in the essential oil of different flower color variants of T. patula cultivated under different conditions. The major reported volatile components in essential oil were (-)-caryophyllene oxide, trans-β-caryophyllene, trans-geraniol, 3 methyl-benzyl alcohol, and 2,2’:5’,2”-terthiophene. It has also been observed that the volatile component percentage range in all variants was observed in open-field (70.85 % to 90.54 %), poly-house (59.03 % to 77.93 %), and hydroponic (68.78 % to 89.41 %). In conclusion, the research highlighted that morpho-physiological performance with flower production was enhanced in the hydroponic system. However, phenolic content and volatile components were maximally observed in open-field conditions.
