<p>Scale: 1:24. A plank-on-frame full hull model. It is finished with original painted surfaces and supported in a launching cradle together with keel blocks within a slipway base. Built by Green's for their Blackwall line to the East, the 'Owen Glendower' was sister of the 'Vernon' and 'Earl of Hardwick' which were at first operated, but unsuccessfully, with 100 h.p. auxiliary steam paddles. She was also designed with them but they were removed before her first voyage and she only operated as a sailing vessel. The ship continued in Green's service until she was sold in 1860 and she was lost at sea in 1865. The name 'Owen Glendower' appears on the stern. There is a good oil painting of the ship by G. W. Butland in the collection, and other images of her.
