fa-caret-down"></i></span></a><span class="js-work-more-abstract-untruncated hidden">The following study aims to find out which is the highest use of metacognitive reading strategies among the academic learners majoring ELT students, Faculty Education, and Teacher Training UIN Walisongo Semarang. There is only one class which administered to this study. It consists of fortythree students; ten male and there are thirty-three female ones. First of all, metacognition discusses the process of an individual in planning and managing oneself in order to achieve his or her goal. In other words, metacognitive strategies are steps take for improving their language performances. Based on the MARSI (Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Inventory) questionnaire, three categories are being scored in metacognitive strategies. They are global reading strategies, problem-solving strategies, and support reading strategies. They create such as painting, dance, music, literature and etc. As one of arts forms, literature is different from other forms of art. It is work writing. People read it for pleasure. They do it in order to know about human life, including its problems, customs, habits, ambition and desires. The data of the study was taken by some following procedures: 1) quoting, means that the writer quoted the dialogue and the stage directions of the play which contains humorous expressions. 2) classifying, means that the writer classified the data into the five groups according to the types of humor such as "wit", "sarcasm", "satire", "irony", and "repartee". For the analysis the writer used aspects of drama or play to analyzing it. The aspects of play which is used in analyzing the data are synopsis, characterization (how the characters are described and how they behave), and the language (how the characters speak and how humor is reflected in the play). The writer attempted to understand the meaning of the play and how the expressions of humor employed in the play. He identified sentences that represent characters' feeling and expressions. Last but not least, the writer used descriptive analysis method. Since the descriptive method is used in the literal sense of describing situations or events. The writer used the descriptive analysis to report the result of the analysis from the data taken. by Moustapha Akkad to EFL learner in understanding the expression of giving the command. This study used descriptive qualitative which the writer interprets of utterances that contain the types of directive speech acts in this movie and the contribution of this research in EFL Classroom. The result of the study showed that 213 utterances of the directive of speech acts were successfully identified. There are command (182 data or 85.44 %), order (2 data or 0.94 %), request (10 data or 4.70 %), and suggestion (19 data or 8.92 %). So it can be concluded that the dominant directive is a command because this movie contained many commands of the Prophet Muhammad and his friends in the battle of Badr and Uhud. In this research, the writer used descriptive co-relational method. It was used to describe whether there was an impact between two variables, i.e. structural competence (X) as independent variable and speaking competence (Y) as dependent variable. The subject of study was the fourth semester students of English department of Tarbiyah Faculty IAIN Walisongo Semarang. After the data had been analyzed, it was found that there was significant impact of structural competence especially in appropriateness. Multilingualism refers to speaking more than one language competently. Generally, there are both the official and unofficial multilingualism practices. This study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were eighty students and divided into two classes. Purposive sampling technique was applied in identifying students who tended to practice multilingualism in education in EFL class. The benefits of multilingualism practices in education were realized by relying on text analysis of the written materials on education and psychology. The data are collected questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The result of this study shows that students of ELT program at UIN Walisongo Semarang tend to study by various kinds of learning. Among students of 2A, 11.2% are visual students, 16.02% are audio-lingual, 5% are kinesthetic and the rest 14.11% are others, would use multimedia which available in the classroom. Whereas, students of 2B show that 13% of them are visual learners, 11% are audiolingual learners, 6.72% are kinesthetics and the rest 13,72% are others. There is a shifting learning activity from traditional to recent ones. Online learning becomes common sense while doing all the activities supporting the learning process. This recent case study aimed to explore the EFL adult learners' perceptions and experiences while in online learning classes during the pandemic era. This recent qualitative case study examined the perceptions and experiences of EFL adult learners during their two-year participation in online classes. This qualitative case study was based on Maslow's theoretical framework. There were a hundred students of EFL at UIN Walisongo Semarang as the participants of this study. They were asked to respond to their perceptions and experiences while conducting online learning via Google form. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, and template analysis was used to document the students' experiences taking part in the research. The researchers employed SPSS 21 to analyze the data taken from the questionnaire. It shows that 6% of participants disagreed with the implementation of online learning. On the other hand, 10.5% of participants strongly agreed with online learning conducted during the pandemic era. There is only one class which administered to this study. It consists of fortythree students; ten male and there are thirty-three female ones. First of all, metacognition discusses the process of an individual in planning and managing oneself in order to achieve his or her goal. In other words, metacognitive strategies are steps take for improving their language performances. Based on the MARSI (Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Inventory) questionnaire, three categories are being scored in metacognitive strategies. They are global reading strategies, problem-solving strategies, and support reading strategies. They create such as painting, dance, music, literature and etc. As one of arts forms, literature is different from other forms of art. It is work writing. People read it for pleasure. They do it in order to know about human life, including its problems, customs, habits, ambition and desires. The data of the study was taken by some following procedures: 1) quoting, means that the writer quoted the dialogue and the stage directions of the play which contains humorous expressions. 2) classifying, means that the writer classified the data into the five groups according to the types of humor such as "wit", "sarcasm", "satire", "irony", and "repartee". For the analysis the writer used aspects of drama or play to analyzing it. The aspects of play which is used in analyzing the data are synopsis, characterization (how the characters are described and how they behave), and the language (how the characters speak and how humor is reflected in the play). The writer attempted to understand the meaning of the play and how the expressions of humor employed in the play. He identified sentences that represent characters' feeling and expressions. Last but not least, the writer used descriptive analysis method. Since the descriptive method is used in the literal sense of describing situations or events. The writer used the descriptive analysis to report the result of the analysis from the data taken. by Moustapha Akkad to EFL learner in understanding the expression of giving the command. This study used descriptive qualitative which the writer interprets of utterances that contain the types of directive speech acts in this movie and the contribution of this research in EFL Classroom. The result of the study showed that 213 utterances of the directive of speech acts were successfully identified. There are command (182 data or 85.44 %), order (2 data or 0.94 %), request (10 data or 4.70 %), and suggestion (19 data or 8.92 %). So it can be concluded that the dominant directive is a command because this movie contained many commands of the Prophet Muhammad and his friends in the battle of Badr and Uhud. In this research, the writer used descriptive co-relational method. It was used to describe whether there was an impact between two variables, i.e. structural competence (X) as independent variable and speaking competence (Y) as dependent variable. The subject of study was the fourth semester students of English department of Tarbiyah Faculty IAIN Walisongo Semarang. After the data had been analyzed, it was found that there was significant impact of structural competence especially in appropriateness. Multilingualism refers to speaking more than one language competently. Generally, there are both the official and unofficial multilingualism practices. This study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were eighty students and divided into two classes. Purposive sampling technique was applied in identifying students who tended to practice multilingualism in education in EFL class. The benefits of multilingualism practices in education were realized by relying on text analysis of the written materials on education and psychology. The data are collected questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The result of this study shows that students of ELT program at UIN Walisongo Semarang tend to study by various kinds of learning. Among students of 2A, 11.2% are visual students, 16.02% are audio-lingual, 5% are kinesthetic and the rest 14.11% are others, would use multimedia which available in the classroom. Whereas, students of 2B show that 13% of them are visual learners, 11% are audiolingual learners, 6.72% are kinesthetics and the rest 13,72% are others. There is a shifting learning activity from traditional to recent ones. Online learning becomes common sense while doing all the activities supporting the learning process. This recent case study aimed to explore the EFL adult learners' perceptions and experiences while in online learning classes during the pandemic era. This recent qualitative case study examined the perceptions and experiences of EFL adult learners during their two-year participation in online classes. This qualitative case study was based on Maslow's theoretical framework. There were a hundred students of EFL at UIN Walisongo Semarang as the participants of this study. They were asked to respond to their perceptions and experiences while conducting online learning via Google form. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, and template analysis was used to document the students' experiences taking part in the research. The researchers employed SPSS 21 to analyze the data taken from the questionnaire. It shows that 6% of participants disagreed with the implementation of online learning. On the other hand, 10.5% of participants strongly agreed with online learning conducted during the pandemic era.
